Farragut Walking Park and McFee Park

One great thing about TN are the parks. The Farragut walking park is one of our favorites. We usually go there on Sundays because it is so beautiful and peaceful.

Another great park that we love is called McFee park. This park is a playground equipped with state-of-the art equipment. It has a specific play area for different age groups and is big enough to accommodate lots of little bodies. Jason loves to play in the dirt and misses it so much. Since we are not in the position to provide that right now, we went for the next best thing. Recycled tires! McFee park is lined with recycled tires which are cut up into little pieces. It sounds really ghetto but it is actually really green! We bought a beach bucket and tools (we will be using these in a month or so at a real beach), brought along the necessary dump trucks and went digging! The kids had fun and it served its purpose.

South Carolina

Easter Weekend we spent in South Carolina. The nuclear plant that Kim works at shut down on Thursday night in observance of Easter, so we thought it was a great time to hit the road. We left Wednesday night and made the four hour drive to Columbia. We stayed in a town just northwest of Columbia called Irmo. We had such a fun weekend. Our main purpose for going to SC was to check out the area due to a possible job opportunity Kim has in the area. We didn't fall in love with Columbia like we did with Knoxville but we know if the Lord wants us there, we will make the best of it! :) We spent most of Friday looking at houses. We tried to take a break at the hotel so Hailey could nap but she refused so we took a drive to the temple. The Columbia temple is beautiful (as is every temple). It was so nice to be on temple grounds again and to feel the peace that comes from the temple. The temple grounds were amazing and we took some time to explore the flowers and listen to the wildlife around us. With so much vegetation around, you don't have to go very far to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere here in the southeast. Which is really nice. :)

Jason playing hide-n-go seek. I found him in the closet and he wasn't happy that I had the camera in tow.

Hailey going for a horsey ride on her daddy's leg.

Columbia, SC temple.

After this point in the trip my camera battery died. But we spent Friday night swimming at the local YMCA. Saturday we woke up and headed to Asheville, North Carolina, which is a smaller town in the middle of the Great Smoky Mountains. It was gorgeous! We grabbed some lunch and the went to visit the famous Biltmore Estate, however due to time constraints we decided not to pay the $65 per person fee to visit the estate. The visitors center suggested taking a whole day to see the 8,000 acre estate and it was already 3:00pm. This site is now on my bucket list and will be seen before I leave the southeast.

We came home Saturday night so we could attend church on Easter Sunday. After church we colored some eggs and enjoyed being together although we missed our family in Idaho and Utah.

We are back

I haven't been feeling the blogging bug lately, however I am capturing so many amazing pics and I don't want to forget the setting, feelings, and dates. I feel blogging is the quickest way to accomplish this for now. So here I go.

April started with a trip to a neighboring lake called Milton Hill Lake. Kim has a RC boat that we took to the lake with us. Jason had a fun time running the boat and Hailey had fun picking up rocks and sticks. The fog was still pretty thick when we got there but then started lifting as time went on. It was absolutely beautiful. After playing with the boat, we went down the lake farther to a playground and were able to watch some college teams practice rowing. It was cool to watch. I would love to catch a competition.

I can't get enough of this girl! She is so fun and so cute!

Like father, like son. These two are such boys!

She LOVES to pick up rocks and sticks. We have quite the collection sitting outside our front door.

This is such a beautiful lake. It was so peaceful and serene.

This boy loves to swing and have his mom give him underdogs. He is getting so big it gets harder and harder.

She loves to swing. When she spots a swing, she instantly starts yelling, "Sing! Sing!"

College teams rowing. This is a very cool sport to witness first hand.

Jason lost his second tooth this month. It has already started growing back and there is another one loose. The tooth fairy is getting hit hard this year! :)
