In the merry little month of MAY...

The month of MAY was, to say the least, INSANE! It was so jam packed with excitement and fun, I don't even know where to begin! How about Graduation...

Katelyn Graduated! Yea! I cannot believe my little Katie Bug is a college girl now!
She also graduated from Seminary! Marc and I were gone..(that story in another post) so I told the kids to document the stuff we were missing.
PROM! Katelyn went with her good friend Jake. He got his uncle's car for the night and they had a blast.
TENNIS! Katelyn played on the Madison Varsity Tennis team and despite the cold weather, had an amazing season!

Don't Blink

Yes, it seems like I just blinked and it is all ready October! Where has it all gone? Well, I guess this is what has occupied the Skiner family for the last 6 months or so! In April, we took Katelyn on her Senior Trip! She wanted to go to the Ocean. We stayed at a condo in Oceanside that was close to the beach and by a fun little harbor. We spent most of our time at the beach, but we did manage a day at California Adventure and The Mormon Batalion in San Diego.
It was a wonderful relaxing trip. (minus the LA traffic)

The cure for the blues

I have to admit it. The winters here are LONG!! Especaially when it is below zero for more than 3 weeks! We get THE BLUES...The winter blues! SO....the best cure we have found is basketball AND grandparents coming to visit! It has been a year since they have been down to see us, so it was very special!
Since we don't ski, basketball is what keeps us going. Mitch has been playing great and had a game high of 29 points while grandma and grandpa were here to watch! He can get up high!
Of course we had to complete the visit with a massive cereal fest. I think they bought out Albertsons. Our favorite is Reeses puffs and we got grandpa going on it too!

It is about time...Christmas time!

We started our Christmas events down in SLC..going to basketball games, shopping and seeing the lights at Temple Square. It was snowing when we were there and was so beautiful!
It was great to have the whole family home for the holidays! Seeing them all laugh and joke around together until wee hours of the morning!!
The snow really hit and Trey found a way to take advantage of his sisters strengths.
Don't forget Christmas PJs. We then entered the sub-zero weather!! Yuck. These came in quite handy.

Lucky or Blessed?

The last month we have been pretty lucky...I even thought about buying a powerball ticket. But decided I didn't really want to press my luck. So, then I got thinking, am I really lucky? I think the better word is blessed. We were blessed to be able to go to Boise to the open house of the Boise temple. We met Marc's parents and felt the spirit as we entered the celestial room. Trey even asked, "Is it ok to cry in the temple?"
We were blessed to have my mom and 2 aunts over for Thanksgiving Dinner! It was a lot of work, but I can honestly say, I enjoyed cooking this year!
We were so blessed to see Grandma Limburg lots this fall. She has made 3 trips in the last 3 months down this way. Lucky? maybe...Blessed...FOR SURE! I am so thankful to Heavenly Father for all he blesses me with. No lottery ticket needed.

Findings

During Octoboer Harvest Break we deciding to do what a lot of people do around here and go hiking. We found a spot up by the Tetons and close to a creek. It was beautiful with all the fall colors.
Then we hiked upon a girls camp! With a big slide!!
and at the bottom of the slide we found teter-toters!! Wow! What a find! Our hiking was worth the work. We may even do it again...in the spring.

homecoming...or going

This month has been a busy one going back and forth to Utah. We started the month doing a little yard work. Moving rock and pouring cement...fixing up the yard. Nice helpers!
Katelyn was asked to Homecoming at Viewmont High School, down by Salt Lake City, by a nice boy named Zac. So, we went down and stayed at Little America and got her all fancy for the dance. Did some fun girl shopping and picked up Avarie at BYU.
Then it was home for some homecoming activies here. Katelyn is on student council, so she was busy with dress up days, mud volleyball, parades and was in charge of powder puff football. Crazy Girls!
We also made it down to a BYU game (WSU vs. BYU go COUGARS!) and saw Avarie!! It has been a crazy month! We really don't ever know if we are coming or going.
