the story...

Our final meal as "singles"!
Josh was a little distracted....
It happened December 22, 2010! We are up in SLC and Josh and I were driving around when he asked if I was hungry. He wanted to get Subway and hot chocolate and drive up Millcreek Canyon and have a "Subaru Picnic". So, that's what we did. It was beautiful, tons of fresh snow. We bundled up in the back of the Subaru with the back open so we could see out. When we were done we were cuddling and all that and Josh said, "Oh, I forgot something" that is when he pulled the ring out of his secret Subaru compartment. Of course, I started crying. He said, "This has been a little adventure, but I was wondering if you would go on a big adventure with me." (Side note: ever since our 3rd date we've been calling our dates/moments/dating "adventures") He then put the ring on and said, "Janelle Baugh will you be Janelle Willis?" And of course I said "YES". Through a flood of tears! The ring was beautiful, so shiny in the sunlight. Josh was afraid it wouldn’t fit, but it was a perfect fit and felt like it always belonged there.

Our beautiful picnic view!

Josh is a little proud that it happened in the back of his beloved Subaru...
See the white box? That's the ring!

My fiance! (I've always wanted one of those!!)

Oh, how I love this man!!

Lion King

Josh's parents, Gary and Emily, came into to town a few weeks ago.
I love Disney's The Lion King and was really excited to take them.
Even better, with your student ID you can buy 2 tickets for $25 each!
What a deal!!

It was a great night!
It was fun to take them around town and enjoy each other!
Thanks for the visit!!

bubblegum alley

Josh and I went to visit his brother and sister-in-law in central California last weekend.
We had so much fun, so much that I forgot to take pictures.

I did take some photos here, because I've been wanting to go here for over a year now!
It's called Bubblegum Alley.
There are different rumors of how it got started, but it has created awesomeness!
It's a bunch of ABC (Already Been Chewed) gum.
It's disgustingly awesome!
I LOVED IT!!

donny and marie

Jill and I got last minute tickets to see The Donny and Marie Show. It sounded like a good excuse to have a "girls trip".
We had a ticket for you Collette, we saved you a seat...:( {sigh}
Mom was the most excited about seeing Donny's Dancing with the Stars trophey! :)
I was excited to see the fashion selections. I don't know too many Donny and Marie songs, but I've heard the show is great.
Jill knew more than me. Unfortunately, Donny lost his voice about half way into the show. :(
They did the best improv they could. Good to know they definitely don't lip sync!
So, I think the Donny and Marie show is still on my list to see. The part we saw was good!
And it's always fun to have girl time!

Dear Collette #1

Dear Collette,
I got the message.
I guess I can't be demanding if I am not willing to do some work myself.

For Halloween this year, Josh and I went to Arizona.
Josh had the exciting opportunity to meet all the Arizona girls (except Michelle).
They didn't disappoint. But such information shouldn't be blogged about.
I guess you'll have to call, even though I know you don't like talking on the phone. hehe

We, eh hem, I had several ideas, we had decided on this but at the last minute I wasn't sure. Josh got the experience of seeing me in "project mode", indecision "project mode" at that...not pretty. He offered several suggestions...several! But finally we both agreed on this...

Ugly School Pictures in a frame.

I feel the need to explain to you, because I'm sure you have already had the thought...while it might look as though Josh had a mullet in 1992, he did not. It was purely for humor purposes.

I personally think I got pretty darn close.

I thought you would appreciate the big hair comeback. I know it took me several years to come out of it...and I don't know if I am completely healed, but I appreciate your patience and unconditional love. Even with my big hair on your wedding day...oh sigh!

Here's what some of the girls and their men came as:

I forgot to get a picture of the host family, Jen and Rebuen. That's kinda rude. And I also didn't get a pic of Rob and Aly, they were Peace and Quiet....haha!
I am amazed that these ladies were my friends when my hair was like that everyday. And not only were they my friends....they made me feel like I was pretty AND cool. Heaven, BLESS these women!!
(Sorry Kanani about completely covering you in the picture...sigh)

I hope you are amazed that I blogged, because I am. And I even have some more drafts that I haven't posted...so exciting!!

Thanks for making me do it! :)
Love, your lil' sis

The Office...

Remember my humble beginnings?
Well, a year later, after
3 "waterfalls" in my office (aka leaks)
53 comments all along the lines of "Is that a dead bird on your window"
and another
24 comments along the lines of "Girl, what is up with your office??"

I finally got enough clout to move down the hall into BHS 438!
Right next to the bathroom...which for some might be a disappointment, but I was overjoyed!

So over-joyed I decorated!
The theme was a place of refuge. Somewhere the students would like to come and hang out...

The perfect doorstop!
The quote board...
My windowsill flower garden.
Colorful but calming wall...
My thank you tree...

I love it!!
Really I do.
But now I can't get these guys out of it!!

SLC to LV

Josh moved to Las Vegas!
The anticipation was a little too much for me.
So, I thought this was in order!
It helped me center my energy!!

...I am loving every minute of seeing him everyday...

extra coupons?

I know, I know! I haven't blogged forever, and when I finally do...it's to ask a favor or let you know of an amazing (do-able) volunteer opportunity! Rude...I know.
I take my students to the Henderson Senior Center for their community health rotation. I am amazed at all they do for the elderly. One of my favorite resources is the "Mini Mart". It was started by a lady who after she retired wanted to give back to the community. She started taking shopping orders from Seniors who were unable to get to the grocery store. The demand started getting higher and she wanted to find a way to help more people.
So she got people to donate coupons and started shopping with these coupons and then setting up a "grocery store" at the senior citizens and sells the items at the coupon price (the price she got them for. Ex. Toothpaste $0.50, Cereal $1.00, canned vegetables $0.35). It is perfect for low-income seniors, especially those who have difficulties finding transportation to a grocery store. The Seniors are so appreciative and just love it. If you are out of state, feel free to mail them to me, but don't feel like you have too. This is probably more for my local blog friends.

Karen, is not able to run the mini mart any longer and as a result coupon donations have decreased. If anyone has coupons (mailers, Sunday paper, anything) that they don't use if they wouldn't mind collecting them and giving them to me I will give them to the center. Leave a comment if you are interested or call me or just stop them by if you know where I live.

Also, they send expired coupons overseas and the military personel honor them. So if there are some that you didn't get to use, they would take those also.

Lastly, since Karen isn't able to shop anymore, they are looking for people who are willing to shop for the coupon deals. I thought this would be an easy way to volunteer in the community. As you could buy some mini mart items while you are doing your family grocery shopping.

If anyone is interested let me know and I will pass along the information.
Thanks guys! And one day, real soon. I am going to start blogging again. I'm almost ready! Swear!!
