Ing Ohana

so it is 12:30 in the morning and i'm here typing on the computer because my little munchkins are wide awake. i am a night person, usually, but not tonight.

we arrived back in utah this morning and it was chilly. what is up with the weather? the flight back was quick. the last hour and a half of the flight the kids were fully awake. i know people like the red-eye, but it is hard for me. i have a hard time sleeping. i was glad it was a direct flight. we were surprised to see ka'u and kahili at the baggage carousel. their missionary friend was on our flight and to our surprise, so was rob. he is back here to walk for graduation.

as soon as we got back home, dane showered and went to work. the kids went down for a three hour nap. nice. i could have slept much much longer but we had to meet with the title company at 3 pm. we all got home around four and dane was able to take an hour nap before volleyball. we set a goal to have both kids fed and sleeping by 8 pm. we met our goal and dane went to bed. i watched a little tv to get sleepy and right when i was ready for bed, little bray comes walking down the stairs. thirty minutes later ani is crying. two hours later they are still awake and i'm ready to strangle someone.

So the flight over wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The direct flight is the BEST thing ever. From now on I am going to always want to fly on that, especially if I am flying by myself. Brayden watched movies for about five hours and colored in his coloring books for another hour. Ani ate and slept. We even survived having to take everyone to the bathroom.



The kids are enjoying playing with their cousin Maile. She is walking all around and loves to follow Brayden. They are all so cute together. The first day Brayden here went to the beach with Aunty Tiffy. With the time difference, Ani and I were knocked out before he came back to the apartment.









Today we took the kids to zoo. We saw the elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, monkeys...It was a lot of fun, despite Brayden asking if we were pau yet. We made the mistake of telling him that we were going to the beach afterwards. So he kept asking if we were going swimming after every animal. After lunch at the zoo, we started to head to ala moana beach and we looked back to the second seat and all the kids were sleeping. We were going to try and take them anyways, but we saw the flags warning us about the jellyfish. So Britt and I had some yummy waiola's shave ice and headed home.









The girls woke up when we got home and Brayden went back down. So we put the girls in the pool outside to play. Their legs and hands were freezing but it didn't seem to bother them. Then Grandma gave them both baths.

So the festivities for Brayden's birthday included a lot of candy, cake, ice cream, and lots of friends and family. We now have to go through his old toys and make room for his new toys.

We had so many people call to wish him a Happy Birthday. He was in such a grumpy mood most of the day. Sorry to those that called and didn't get a happy child. We ran some errands and bought him some new trains for his thomas set. He wanted Hamburgers for lunch. He ended falling asleep on the way home and so I saved his hamburger for him after his nap. That evening the families came over for some cake and ice cream. Here are some pics from his party. He got his cars cake. He really likes the movie cars.
