We flew direct to Sea-Tac from Salt Lake. The flight was nice and short.
We love Seattle
After we dropped off our stuff at the house, we went to get some pizza. It was delicious.
One guy asked if all the kids belonged to us. Ha ha. We came back and arranged a babysitter so we could watch superman. I liked it, but my brother hated the movie. I mean HATED the movie. I thought this superman was Hot. So it made the movie so much better. Ha ha.
On Wednesday we drove down to try Schawarma. Surprisingly, it was really good. It was my first time eating it.
We decided to try out the outlets. We got some cheap stuff for Bray.
All the kids look around the same age. People kept giving us looks like we were crazy for having so many kids.
Ani lost a tooth that night. I think it's her third.
The next morning we took Malakai with us and drove to Olympus. It's almost the halfway point to Portland. Dane's sister, Porsche, drove up to meet us for lunch.
We walked around the area before she arrived. The restaurant was called, The Falls. It has a nice walk. The food was really good. I loved their clam chowder.
The kids had a coloring contest and Aunty porsche was the judge. Ani's picture won.
Mika even entered into the contest
We did the short hike around
On the drive back, it was raining. My cousin, Kumu, and his wife, Aimee, had their baby girl a couple nights before. We went to visit them at the hospital. The girls were all sleeping so only Bray and I went inside. She was so cute. It made me want another baby, even more! Dane has banned me from holding newborns.
Friday, was a busy day. We had to finish up getting everything for Jo's luau the next day. Amanda and I ran errands all day. Then Jo and Dane had to drop Amanda off at the hotel she was staying at with her friends. That night my parents rolled into town and we got take-out from a Thai place close by. The next day was busy. We headed down to Amanda's race. She ran her first half and it was the Rock & Roll. I've always wanted to do a rock and roll half. She did so good and we are so proud of her!
The race ended at the space needle
Jo's luau was after that. Amanda had put together a show for Jo. It was a surprise. She asked me to dance. I hate dancing, but for my brother, I did it. Her friend, Ginger, and her family did two other numbers and Amanda learned a slow tahitian number for Jordan. I think he was so surprised and loved it.
My dad did a slideshow and it turned out to be a great luau. So fun. We ended the night with ice cream! love little eli.
The next day we planned to go to the mariner's game. My dad and mom stayed home with Mika and Kiele. The weather was cool but it wasn't raining. I love watching baseball games in the stadium. I hate watching it on TV. It started off fun.
It ended pretty scary. It was towards the end of the game. It was a close game and Dane was holding, Keilani. I remember at one point him showing me that she was shaking. We thought she was a little cold and was shivering. We covered her better with her jacket. When I looked over at her next, she was looking at the ceiling. I was kind of in to the game, so I was looking back at her and back at the game. Finally, I tried calling her name and she didn't look at me. I asked my brother is she was alright and after clapping in her face and no response, we gathered our stuff and left. We asked the first worker where the first aid station was located and took her there. Jo went inside with her and we waited outside. They kept coming to give us updates, at first saying that she was responding now and looking good. Then they came back outside saying they had called an ambulance as a precaution. They told us the hospital and we immediately left since the game would be ending soon and we didn't want to get caught in traffic. When we arrived, we found out that she had continued to have seizures in the ambulance and they had to give her meds for it. It caused her body to relax and she fell asleep. She was also having a hard time breathing so they were trying to remind her to breathe. They were also giving her some oxygen when her levels were lowering. I told Dane to take the kids home. When I went back, they had moved her to another room. The tests were showing that she wasn't getting enough oxygen still and that it looked like she was still seizing. I kept calling my dad them to give updates. They put a breathing tube in her throat and took her to get a cat scan. I just have to say that I was SOOOO impressed with all the doctors and nurses at this hospital. They were so helpful, informative, and made us feel like they really cared. Amazing hospital. After her cat scan they moved her to the nicu. It was brand new section of the hospital and really nice. Keilani had neurologists, respiratory therapists, and several nicu doctors in her room. Dane had come back by then. We left to get dinner. Jo stayed with Keilani and they performed a lumbar puncture on her. They made us leave anyways. We only stayed to eat and give keilani a blessing. As we were driving home, Jo called to say that she was already improving. It was such a scary experience and I'm not even her mother. Poor Amanda. That was so hard and I went through a child having a seizure before.
The next morning they said they Keilani was already slowly waking. We went to pick her up and bring clothes to Jo. Amanda's friends came to stay with Keilani while we went to Jo's graduation. We weren't even sure Jo was going to go. I'm so glad he did. He worked so hard at school. It's unfortunate that Keilani got sick and they handled it all so well. Jo spoke and he did so well. We were so proud of him! Amanda left immediately after he received his diploma and the rest of left after the graduate class finished.
We dropped Jo off at the hospital and went to his celebratory dinner, without him, to Kona Kitchen. The boys love that place and knew exactly what they wanted.
We all had cake too. Yum. Dobash, Guava, Chantilly, and Rainbow.
The next morning, we packed up all our stuff. We had to buy an extra bag for everything. We had lunch at a Korean place we yelped and it was sooo good. The jop chae was delicious.
We grabbed our stuff and went to say goodbye to Amanda and Jo at the hospital. They were releasing Keilani when we arrived. She looked so much better and it was such a relief that all the tests showed that it was a febrile seizure. A complex febrile seizure. Very scary. We left from the hospital to the airport. There was traffic and we were rushing. When we got to the gate they were asking for six people to give up their seats. They didn't have any flights leaving the next day and weren't sure we could get out the day after either. We didn't give up the seats and as soon as we were on the plane, regretted it. We would have gotten 2400 dollars in credit. Dang, I still regret it. We had so much fun in Seattle. We were so happy see Jordan graduate. What a great accomplishment.
