Trip to Boston

I had the opportunity to travel to Boston to attend my sister's wedding.  It was great going out there to spend time with her and my parents.  Thanks to Robert for staying behind with the kids so I could go.  The wedding was wonderful and I am so happy for my sister.

Since we were in Boston, we decided to take in some of the sights of that beautiful, historic city.  I only wish that Robert could have been there because he loves this stuff.

I really liked going aboard the U.S.S. Constitution.  Other than eating cannoli's at Mike's Pastry and going to Fenway, it is probably my favorite thing that I have done in Boston.

What is this cold, white substance all over the ground?  Oh how much I have forgotten while living in Houston (Logan is going to be a cold, rude awakening!).

This was a picture I got from Robert while I was in Boston on one of the evenings Robert had to "cook".  I am sure the kids were not too disappointed that they had to go with daddy to Subway.

Scarlett's 4th Bday

Our little girl turned 4!  She requested a My Little Pony birthday cake, and her presents were pretty much all Ponies and Frozen dolls.  In the end, we had a happy little girl!

She was so excited for her Twilight Sparkle Tinkle Star Light.  It projects stars that change colors on her ceiling.  One more thing to add to the routine before she will go to bed.

Happy Birthday to our sweet Scarlett.  You bring so much to our family and we are so blessed that you are part of it.

Forberg Farms

Outside of Houston (in Alvin, TX) there is strawberry farm where you can go to pick (and buy) your own strawberries.  With how much the kids love strawberries, we thought this was a no-brainer activity.  In the end, the kids loved the experience and loved eating all the strawberries.  I have a feeling this will not be the only time we go to this happy place.

Random Happeninngs

Once Robert accepted his job at Utah State, we experienced a flood of USU clothes from Robert and those excited we would be moving to Logan.  They quickly became some of our kids favorites to wear.

Nate and Scarlett developed a love of going outside to have a "picnic".  It usually would include taking out backpacks full of books and toys.  I cannot express the joy I experienced watching my kids, if only for a moment, spend quality time together without fighting.

During the NBA basketball season, a frozen yogurt store called "Menchies" had a deal that you got free yogurt every time the Houston Rockets won.  Lucky for us, the Rockets were pretty good and won a lot of games.  I am ashamed to admit (well not really) that we went every time they one, and we ate a lot of frozen yogurt during this time.

My parents went to South America and they brought these handmade beanies back for the kids.  Not very appropriate for Houston, but they will come in handy when we get to Logan!

Scarlett's last Valentine's Day party with the playgroup in our ward.

Nate, like his dad, refuses to grow up at times and give up toys that are no longer age and size appropriate.  He ended up getting stuck in this car.

Nate and Scouting

Nate has been really enjoying his time thus far in Cub Scouts.  He especially loved the Pine Wood Derby because he got to cut and make his own car using some pretty cool power tools.

Nate really wanted a Spider-Man car.  With the help of his dad, Nate successfully created the "Spider-Car".

Nate won the gold medal for "Best Design" for his car.  He was really happy about his victory considering Spider-Car was not the fastest.  Apparently, lots of the scouts were highly educated in aerodynamic, physics, and engineering.....

Scarlett enjoyed cheering for her brother and watching the races.

Nate also got to participate in "Scouting for Food".  He had a good time hanging flyers on the doors.
