Father's Day 2013

The "Tower of Dad"
We celebrated Father's Day yesterday because, well, Isaiah is an amazing father!

He has a strong stomach, which is exceedingly important considering I shrink away in the face of truly explosive diapers, circumcision, and any and all loose teeth. He's been a role model to me of patience, true acceptance, and intelligent parenting. Love that man!

Halfway through the day, as we were exiting Sam's Club, I thought - hm... it would be nice to get a photo of all of our children. Let's give it a shot!

We parked the cart against the brick wall - because the best backgrounds are free - contained the youngest two and gave clear instructions to the oldest two to stare at the camera and smile no matter what their siblings did, and started snapping.

This is what the camera caught:

I love our family. I feel like we're a constant slice of chaos, but it's as exhilarating as it is exhausting.

Happy Father's Day, friends!

Easter 2013

Easter 2012
I absolutely love it when major celebrations sneak up on you unprepared... that's not true. That's terribly sarcastic, actually, and just the way I feel when I think about Easter this year.

We woke up Easter morning and I suddenly realized we didn't have our outfits together and our hearts weren't prepared for the memorial. So we got crackin'!

In the end we were able to have a great day and celebrate Christ's Resurrection with good friends. The kids had a ball posing for their photo opportunity and we vowed to be more prepared next year.

Here are some more photos of the day that I just love:

Mikayla is always discovering something.

Hasn't Maggie grown up?!

Big boy Max, with his pacifier addiction.

Mia's smile can light up a room!

These girls are good friends, which makes our hearts so happy!
