Weekend Get-a-way!

This weekend Jason and I got to go out of town for his company Christmas party. We drove to good 'ol sin city Wendover! What an interesting place to celebrate Christmas huh?!? We stayed at the Montego Bay and had a really nice room. The company payed for dinner and then we just bummed around watching everyone gamble. I even put 7 bucks in to the penny slots. Didn't win anything but had fun playing while it lasted. It was really nice to have some alone time together. Jason even said that Wendover is good for only one thing..........buffets! j/k he really was thinking what you all were just now! Get your minds out of the gutter!!! LOL! I have been pretty stressed out and this was just the perfect thing to get my mind off things. The kids stayed at my Mom's for the night and had a good time too! Now it's time to get back to reality and finish getting ready for Christmas!

The best of the worst

~The Best of the Worst~
In March of this year I went in for a surgery that was supposed to be minor. Remove a lump on my thyroid and it would be over. Well, unfortunately that lump was cancer and my thyroid was removed. Here I am after the surgery.
My neck was sore and swollen.
But I felt relatively good, tired but good.

In April I had some radiation and was secluded from my family for 5 days. That was hard but I got through it, I even got some things done, and had some me time.
Last week it was time for the thyroid scan to see if the cancer was gone or not. Good news. The cancer is gone!!! I am truly blessed and thank my Father in Heaven for watching over me! Thanks to all of you for your prayers, thoughts and meals! I have the best family and friends any one could ask for!! Wahoo!

Breakfast with Santa!!

Daddy took the kids today to Breakfast with Santa at the fitness center by our house. Our fun neighbor Danielle called and invited us to go along with them. The kids had a lot of fun!
Jaden, Karlee's best buddy, his sister Ashli, Austin and Karlee, Danielle and Santa!

Karlee absolutely loved this puppy! Jason said she was by its side the
whole time they were there!
And finally to sit on Santa's lap and tell him your hearts desires!
Karlee wants a baby that talks and Barbies this year. Easy enough!

Austin has a list is a mile long!
He would like Bakugan's, r/c spy tank, video games, operation, and more!
This kid is going to break the bank!

Thanks to Daddy for this fun time! You are the best!

Hiney shots

This week I get to do my thyroid check up to make sure the cancer is gone. I have a crazy week of being at the hospital. Yesterday and this morning I got a shot in the hiney. Boy, does that hurt! My joints ache and my bum is sore from the injection. Tomorrow I get a small dose of radiation and then friday I get the full body scan to look for cancer. Hopefully it will turn out just fine. The hard part is being in seclusion for 3 days. I can't be within 6 feet of anyone! So, I get to live in my bedroom. Jason even has to sleep on the couch. Poor guy isn't even in trouble this time! Ha ha ha! I am hoping with my time off as a Mom I can get some things done like, santa gifts wrapped, christmas cards ready to mail and my young women lesson planned for sunday. Oh, and I get to make some gifts for my nieces, I am making these darling tule skirts for dress up! Way fun and cute!! Hopefully I will get a couple of these done. I am definitely planning on relaxing too. Thank heavens for GIANT bathtubs to soak in! I will let you know the outcome of the test as soon as I know!

Bite Me!

Twilight.........need I say more!?!?!

I went to a party with some of my friends that Twilightmoms.com put on before the movie! This is Edward.........

I am in love!!

This is the group at dinner! There were 12 of us and we had a blast!

Sarah and I got bit by.......Edward!!! Ha ha ha! j/k WE wish!! These are some fun tatoos we got at the before party!

The movie was really good. I was amazed at how well they kept with the story line in the books. I was disappointed however at how quickly the first half of the movie was. I felt like they needed to slow down and add more of the highschool drama Bella went through and also of the tension between her and Edward. It just happened too fast for me. Also Rosalie wasn't as beautiful as I expected, at least as the book described her, but all in all the cast was done really well. The sparkling Edward was a little cheesy too. I thought they could've done something better with the special effects we have these days. I also didn't like the spider monkey climbing trees thing. That was too hokey for me. What I did like was who they picked for Edward and Bella! Good choice! He is such a BABE!!! Ooooh la la! I also liked the fight scene at the ballet studio, that was pretty intense!

I can't wait to go and see it again! This time Jason is coming with me! I also am very excited that they are going to make New Moon! Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for that one!

HILARIOUS!

So my friend Kerri posted this picture on her blog and I couldn't help but copy and paste it to mine! This picture was when we were 12!! Do ya like how I look like a mexican and she looks albino?!?! Any way if you will take a closer look at the picture I am wearing a NKOTB shirt! Hilarious right??!!??!!
And here we are today at the NKOTB concert! Luckily my tan has faded a bit and instead of
t-shirts I just wear my GIANORMOUS button!
Just wanted to share this bit of history with you! Kerri I am so glad we are still buddies after all these years! New Kids still ROCK the house!

6 Random Things

The Rules
1. Link this post to the person who tagged you: Kristi Amasio
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. List 6 random things about yourself
4. Tag people at the end of your post

I have done this one before but it has been so long I am sure that there is something you don't know!

1~ When I get mad I clean! It is the funniest thing, Jason always knows when he is in trouble because when he makes me mad I will leave the room and start cleaning! There is just something theraputic about slamming the kitchen drawers shut and scrubbing the heck out of a tub!!

2~ I am a nazi after I clean the house too! I figure, I have worked all day to deep clean I should be able to enjoy it for at least 24 hours before it gets dirty again right!??!

3~ Like my friend Kristi that tagged me I too LOVE peanut butter and chocolate together! Especially in ice cream! My favorite is peanut butter perfection from Cold Stone! Delicious!

4~ I am addicted to my computer! Is that even normal? In the morning the first thing I do after getting the kids breakfast is check my email and see if anyone left any comments on my blog. It is quite pathetic. I am constantly doing this through out the day too! Do you do this too or am I wierd?

5~ I have to keep my Thursday night clear so I can watch my shows. If I miss them I watch them online to catch up. But at all costs I try to keep it clear! My favorite shows are: The Office, 30 Rock and ER. On the off season I catch up on CSI New York.

6~ I love mexican food. I could eat it every day! My favorite restaurants are: El Habanero, La Luna, La Frontera, and of course the american versions Taco Time and Taco Bell! It is sickening I know to eat it every day but I LOVE IT!

Ok now to tag some people......this is a toughy! How about Hannah, Whitney, Tera, Sarah, and Kori!

Hangin' tough Christmas lights!

This weekend Jason was sweet enough to put up our Christmas lights! I was so excited when he offered. Last year we had just moved in and we were still "unpacking" I guess you could say. This is my handsome, bearded hubby hard at work!
This is the house all lit up! Nothing too fancy, just simple and classy I would say!

Later.........
was one of the BEST girls night out I have ever had! This is my posse! From the left Erin, myself, Brianna and Kerri! We have been friends since elementary school and still try and get together as often as we can!

For this particular get together we did something that most of you would think was ridiculous and obsurd but we had a BLAST!! You see we have been fans of this particular group since the 6th grade. We all had our favorite's and when we found out they were doing a reunion tour we couldn't help but jump on the band wagon and get tickets to go again! We went to the New Kids on the Block concert at the E-center! Wahoo!

There is the clan again! Me, Kerri, Kerri's friend Shannon, Erin and Brianna! Waiting as patiently as we can for the BIG show!

I can hardly stand it! It was so exciting that we all couldn't help but scream like we were 12 all over again!
The giant button on my shirt is from back in the day, 6th grade! I dug it out just for this occasion! I still have the trading cards that NKOTB had and books and a VHS movie of them! I can't bring myself to throw it away! Too nostalgic and funny to give up!

Apparently I need a new camera, the picture's I tried to take of the concert didn't turn out at all! But I can't delete them!!!
I have to tell you that NKOTB was my first concert ever at the age of 12, my Mom took me and my sister and I remember so much about that day! I still have the ticket stub from that concert and I plan on keeping this one too! We were out of control singing and screaming then and we did the same last night! It was hilarious! We couldn't hear anything after the concert our ears were ringing SO much and I am amazed I had a voice today because, did I mention I did a ridiculous amount of screaming last night!? It was great and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Quilted Bear and Chuck E. Cheese

Yesterday I ended up not needing to babysit my nieces like I usually do on Monday's, so I decided to take advantage of the free time I had and took Great-Grandma to lunch where we met my Mom and Emma! Karlee was so excited to go to the Quilted Bear for soup! She LOVES that place! Then of course we walked around after lunch to look at all the fun things there! Karlee and Emma were all over the place, they especially liked the booths with "dress up" stuff in it! It was good to spend time with our Grandma's!
For family night I found some coupon's that were going to expire in a couple of day's for Chuck E. Cheese......so there we went! The kids had a blast! Karlee was really excited to meet the mouse and Austin was into the cool games to play! We had a good time watching them earn the tickets to get a fabulous prize. Of course it was just junk but they love it!

Since we were already so close to Jason's Mom's house we decided to drop in and say hello! We helped her with her computer and added our blog so that she could see what we were up to at our house. We had such a good day seeing all but one Grandma!! Hopefully we will be able to get to Provo soon and visit our other Great-Grandma!

Lame movie

This weekend was spent at home due to ALL of us having a cold. (cough, cough) To waste the time away we watched a couple of movies. The first was "The Happening", can I just say that M. Night Shyamalan's movies are getting worse and worse. This was the lamest movie we have seen in a long time. If you haven't seen it yet, don't, it's not worth your time!!! The second movie we watched was the new "Hulk", I must say that this was better than the first one they did a couple of years ago. I would say to at least watch it once.

I am glad that the time change has come so that we can catch up on all the movies we haven't seen yet. It seems like in the summer we just have too many other things to do outside so we see hardly any movies. Thank heavens for night coming early so that we can put to good use Jason's movie system and watch some good shows! Movie night anyone????

Halloween!

We had quite the eventful week. The holiday started with a preschool Halloween party for Karlee. She got to dress up sing songs, make a witch and then come outside to do a trunk-or-treat with the mom's and dad's. And would you know it, I forgot my camera! The kids looked so cute and Karlee had a blast!
Then the BIG night came!! The kids were so very excited to go trick-or-treating! Their costumes were a lot of fun this year too! Austin finally broke out of the superhero groove and went as a SCARY Alien! He had a lot of fun being a more frightful creature this year.
Karlee's costume was so much fun for me this year! She decided she wanted to be a fairy and we found this cute costume at Walmart. (I know....Walmart.....) Anyway, my friend Danielle gave me some WAY cute ideas to "embellish" her costume.

And here are my two little "monsters" all ready to go!

It was such a AWESOME night to go out because the weather was FABULOUS!! We were trick-or-treating for over an hour! Last year I think we made it maybe 30mins!!! Thanks to our neighbors for going with us and making the night even better! The kids' friends Gabriel, Nathan, Jaden and Ashli came with us. We had a hard time keeping up with those boys! They couldn't wait for the little one's to catch up! The kids got so much candy we don't need to buy any for a YEAR!!! After the candy madness we went to a Halloween party hosted by Terry and Tori. We had a really good time! The kids ran around and worked off some of their sugar high and the grown-ups played some fun Halloween games. What a fun night!

Go Utes!

Yesterday Karlee got to be a mini cheerleader with our niece Whitney at the U of U game! Karlee was so excited about this! She was beside herself silly all day! Aren't my cheerleaders the most adorable you have ever seen!?!?
We got some really good seats to watch Karlee's BIG debut as a cheerleader!

I even got to follow Karlee and Whitney out onto the field to get these great pictures of her in action! What a big place to be at the age of 4 to dance! I was very surprised that Karlee didn't even get stage fright! I know I would have!

Unfortunately our seats were by the CSU supporters and they were quite the bunch! For the most part they kept it clean and we were able to enjoy the game without a riot!

Austin was so funny when the Utes would score! He was screaming and cheering so loudly, the CSU fans behind us got a good laugh at his sportsmanship for the team! The Utes won 49-16 when all was said and done! It was so much fun we are considering season tickets for next year!
GO UTES!

Grandma's visit and hair do's

We had the awesome privilege of spending time with Jason's Mom this weekend! Saturday we took Mom out to dinner and found out that it was her anniversary with Marv who just passed away! Sad!! They would have been married 53 years! I couldn't believe we didn't know! She has been doing really well since he has been gone, she of course has her moments but for the most part she is doing amazing! She has started driving herself to church and to the grocery store. I think she really enjoys the independence she has found. She is such a neat woman! We invited her and my niece Chelsea to dinner Sunday. She brought her delicious chicken noodle soup! Here is some pictures of her watching Chelsea and Austin duke it out on Rock Band!

We had such a good time spending the weekend with Jason's mom!
Here are some new styles that I have done on Karlee's hair! I think the hair blogs I have been looking at have inspired my creative genius!! It has been fun doing something new!
