K and Jackson

K is the little boy that we got Jackson from.  He is such a fun boy.  One day we took Jackson there to play with him.  Jackson was able to see his brother Ace which he loved.  I love these pictures.  They show how much love K has for Jackson.

Jackson and his plastic bag

This dog we have is so hilarious.  He did some crazy things today that I can't wait to post.  He goes crazy with plastic bags.  He acts like it is attacking him.  I thought these pictures were so dang cute.  I love him!!!!!

Swimming by the river

The day before Jackson was neutered we decided to take him to the river.  It was a super nice day so we thought he would like it.  Come to find out the water is the snow melt off from the mountains so especially right now it is freezing. For his first time swimming he did a pretty good job.
Our little swimmer.   We kept his leash on because we didn't want him floating down the river alone.
He is the cutest puppy ever!  I love him.

My hubs and pup.  I love them both.

Swimming away.

Jacob and Jackson went down the waterside.  The sandbar is pretty cool.  I think we will go here a lot this summer.

He was so tired he fell right asleep.
Come to find out you are not supposed to have pets there.  We didn't see the sign until we were  leaving so I really didn't feel bad.

1st Vet Appointment

About two weeks ago we took Jackson in for his first vet appointment.  Everything was free because we got coupons when we re-adopted him.  To make a long story short the lady who gave him to us was not supposed to get rid of the puppy before 2 months.  So we had to return him and re-adopt him.  Anywho, I was excited for his visit and sad to leave him for the whole day.

He was neutered, got his rabies shot and a puppy checkup.

On the way home.  He is getting so dang big.  This picture cracks me up because he was so dang drugged.

300 post

Although I wish I would have posted more in my blog I am so glad that I have it.  I like to look back and read over old posts.  It bring back such great memories.  I am thankful to have my blog and I can't wait to make a blog book out of it.

Jacob's Surgery

May 17 a week before school ended for the year Jacob went in for surgery. He had some work done on the turbinides in his nose and had his tonsils removed.
Jacob right when he got changed ready for the surgery.
I was really bored.  Can you tell?

About to go in.  He could not see anything.
Soon after he came out.  He was drugged up.  The first thing he asked for was his glasses.
All the blood in his mouth grossed me out. I almost passed out.  They had to get me something to drink and they had me sit down.
I knew he was feeling better when he asked for the iPad.  I was glad I had it because it kept me busy during the 4 hours I waited for Jacob.
The doctor said that some people eat right after surgery and some have to wait weeks.. I guess Jacob is the kind that can eat right after.  He got a cheeseburger, fries and chicken strips.  He shared half of them with me.  The hospital has some dang good food.
A few days after his surgery we had to take him to the ER for pain and breathing.  We were there for about 5 hours.  Luckily the cafeteria had such good food so I was alright.  It made for a really long week.
A week later we went to Applebee's and shared a burger thanks to a get well gift card Jacob got in the mail.  He was excited to get out and eat good food. He is back to normal now and sleeping much better since the surgery.

Bountiful Baskets

We have been hanging out with out friends the Ard's a lot more lately.  Kelsi works with me at school and we student taught together this last fall.  They were talking about how they always get bountiful baskets and they were wondering if we wanted to split it.  When you split if the cost is only $7.50 per couple.  They came over this morning so we could split up the goods.

Our fruit take.  Kelsi volunteered so we got two mini watermelons.  I was supposed to go but could not find them.  They don't like pineapple so they gave it to us and we gave them extra bananas.

Our veggie take.  They don't like cauliflower so we took it and gave them extra broccoli.  I can't wait to make cauliflower poppers with it.  Plus it is green cauliflower and I have never had that before.

It is so nice that on wight watcher fruits and veggies are 0 pp and so I can eat lots of them.  I am thinking that the next time we get one we might get our own.  It depends though on our budget.    All I know though is that bountiful baskets is my new friend.

We are now a family of three!!!

On Thursday of this week one of my students parents came into school to talk to me and update me on his sons appointment with his doctor.  As we were talking I brought up the new puppy they had gotten because her son always talked about it.  She told me that she was going to take it to the animal shelter because she could not find someone to take him.  She asked if we would be interested.  I knew Jacob would die if we got a puppy and he would be good with it but I told her I had to ask him and get back to her.  As soon as the words came out of my mouth Jacob was ready to die.  So after work we headed to their house to get our new puppy.  At first my student wash;t very excited but after talking for about 15 minute he gave "Ace" (we change his name to Jackson) a kiss and told him he loved him and he carried the puppy to our car.  We brought him home and have been on a roller coaster ever since.
Jacob and Jackson in the car as soon as we got home.  His first car ride ever.

Me and Jackson

First family picture ever!

Jackson's first meal at home.

Such a cutie.

we took him to see our friends the Lybbertt's.  Guy loved Jackson, he was so cute with him.

The kiddos playing with both dogs.

Super cute Paige.

Jackson did not know what to think of Chico.
When we tried to take him out to go potty he just sat down.  Then we took him inside and he peed in the living room and pooped in the dining room (2x).   This is part of the roller-coaster I was talking about.

He loves Jacob and when Jacob rubs or scratches his belly.  He kicks his foot against the couch.

His first walk.   He was a little confused and so it took forever.  I think he is still trying to get use to the leash.

I love my new cuddle buddy.

This is from today (Saturday) so we have had him for two whole days.  He pretty much slept all day.  He is a pretty cute sleeper though.  I have done a lot better with the whole potty training thing.  I got some advice from friends at work and my sister Nicole and they seem to be helping.

M co-worker brought by her black lab Annie to meet Jackson.  I thought the size comparison was pretty great.  Jack looks so small next to her.

Just "playing" together.  I think Annie really didn't want anything to do with Jack.  They were pretty cute though.

Jackson following Annie.  He got in trouble because he followed her into the street and he has never done that before.

Jackson and I walked to the Lybbertt's and spent some time with them.

Guy loves Jackson but he nibbles on people and things and so when Guy was trying to touch his face Jackson nibble and scared Guy to death.

See I told you Guy loves him
He is a lot of work and sometimes I am frustrated and want to get rid of him.  However, we have only had him 3 days and I love him.  I could never get rid of him.  I never thought I could get so excited over a dog going pee and poop outside.  He has made so much progress already.  Yesterday I couldn't even count the amount of accidents he had inside the house.  Today with a little more help from me he has only had three accidents and one was my fault because I did not take him out right after I got home.  He is just going to get better and then we won't even have to worry about it.  He is such a great addition to our family and I can't imagine our lives without him.
