Summer Vacation, Part 2: The Wedding

Will and Heather were married in the Salt Lake City temple on June 5th.  It was a beautiful ceremony and gorgeous weather for pictures outside.  I can't believe my little brother is married!  We all just adore Heather.  She and Will are the perfect match.  Aren't they so cute together?

Summer Vacation, Part 1

A couple weeks ago we headed to Utah for my brother's wedding.  It was the first time my family had all been together in about 2 1/2 years.  We decided to do a little sightseeing around Salt Lake that was different from Temple Square.  We went to the Red Butte Gardens at the University of Utah after eating lunch at the Red Butte Cafe (where I promptly devoured a huge roast beef sandwich au jus! I was starving due to having only eaten a little bowl of cereal at 5:15 am and a measly bag of peanuts and tiny bag of pretzels on the plane.)  None of us had been to the garden before.  It was so pretty there and smelled amazing!

of course you knew Jacob had to do a silly pose at least once :)
We also went to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy.  It was actually a really nice aquarium.  We saw jellyfish, sharks, an octopus, and the tiniest and cutest dwarf seahorses I'd ever seen!  We also got to touch stingrays and starfish.
Their newest exhibit is the gentoo penguins and they were so fun to watch.  I could've stood there for hours just watching them swim and jump out of the water.  This was the best picture I took of one b/c they move so fast!

Later we went to see Will & Heather's apartment and swim at their pool and relax in the hot tub.  The next afternoon we helped Heather's family get the church ready for the wedding reception.  Here are some of the guys working on stringing the lights and wire together.

We didn't finish up with the decorating until 11 or 11:30 that night, but it was the prettiest gym reception I've seen!  I'll put pictures up with my post of the wedding.

More House Pictures

We've been in our house for a while now, and I am finally getting around to showing you some pictures of the inside.  We still have to hang curtains and artwork and get a little more furniture for a couple of rooms.  The first few nights were really strange.  I felt like I was staying at somebody else's house, but now it feels like home.

My favorite room:
Our apt. kitchen was tiny and didn't even have a drawer big enough to put the silverware, so I am loving all the space I have now.
The living room:

Our tv fit perfectly in the alcove, which made Jacob so happy.
One of Jacob's favorite things about the house: 3-car garage!
We had a great Memorial Day weekend.  Our friends, the Woods, came to stay and we had a good time.  These were some of the only pictures I took from the whole weekend.  We were too busy having fun!
Saturday we had a BBQ with our friends the Calls and the Reads.  We ate lots of yummy food and afterwards we played "Minute to Win It" games.  Has anyone seen that show?  We love it!  The games are played with household items and timed for one minute.  We just came up with our own using stuff we had around the house.  I wish I had taken pictures because it was so funny!  We will have to do it again sometime and actually play the real games from the show.  Although I would love to watch Traci play the card throwing game again. :)   After everyone left, the kids had baths, and Traci and I talked in the kitchen for a bit.  When we walked into the living room, we found this:
I guess they were all exhausted from having too much fun!  We were happy the Woods were able to come for the weekend.  Who wants to visit us next?
