Thanksgiving 2013

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  I love spending time with family and friends and reflecting on all my many blessings.
Click here for a look back on a similar picture two years ago.  (Guess we forgot to get one last year.)  Can't believe how much she has grown!
We had dinner with our wonderful friends, Traci and Logan Wood, this year.  The table was set beautifully and all the food was delicious.  After dinner, we talked and played some fun games together.
my contribution: green bean casserole, creamed corn, stuffing, and an apple pie
Thanksgiving dinner is one of my most favorite meals.  Yum!
On Black Friday we took Katie to see her first movie in the theater!
Killing time before the movie started
We saw Frozen and loved it!  The music is so good and I loved the story too.  Katie did really well until the last ten minutes and needed to sit on Jacob's lap cause she got a little restless.  I'd say we have a little movie buff on our hands.

Happenings {November}

As you can tell, I'm doing some marathon blogging to catch up before the new year!
Here's what we did in November:

We visited our friends, Heidi and Trever Keele, in Houston and met their new sweet baby girl, Gwendolyn, who was born in September.  She is truly a miracle baby and I am so happy that they have fulfilled their dream of parenthood.  I loved holding little Gwen and talking with Heidi and Trever again.  They are awesome.
Had my teeth cleaned (no cavities, yay!)
Katie kept a headband in long enough for me to take a picture!
First full French braid (done by her Aunt Rachel - I do NOT French braid).  Guess I better practice if she wants this more often (or just take her to Rachel).
visited Old Town Spring for family pictures
grocery shopped at one of our favorite stores - HEB
played at the park
Fed the sister missionaries.  We love them! (Quist and Liljenquist)
Baked the most delicious sugar cookies.  They are so easy to make - no rolling or cutting out.  And the sour cream frosting is to die for.  Click here for the recipe.
Improved our coloring skills
Admired a gorgeous Texas sunset
We removed the front rail of Katie's crib to upgrade her to a "big girl bed".  She only fell out a couple of times and has adjusted pretty well.  She doesn't take naps a couple times a week now though and I think it's b/c she can get up and play.  I still have her stay in there for quiet time even if she doesn't sleep.
Babysat our new little nephew, Taysom.  Love him! (Katie took this pic)
Katie had a play date to make sugar cookies.  As you can tell, they enjoyed the eating part the best.
We made sugar and spice turkeys for Thanksgiving.
Visited Daddy at his office. Isn't a dental chair the best place to eat a cookie? :)
"What are those, daddy?"
Saw Santa and got a balloon at the community center
Next up...Thanksgiving!
