The JAC Hunter PHEV made a headline-grabbing international debut at the 2025 Melbourne Motor Show, reiterating JAC’s global reputation as a hard-working, value-driven brand with six decades of engineering heritage.

Vehicle Dynamics Independently Tuned by Multimatic.
Multimatic's Michael Barber is recognised as one of Australia's most accomplished vehicle dynamics engineers, having played a key role in the critically acclaimed VE and VF Holden Commodore programs.
Barber's involvement forms part of Hunter's ongoing Australian development program. This vehicle dynamic tuning ensures the suspension system is engineered with a singular objective: the precise integration and balance of every component, optimised for Australian driving conditions. The tuning targets confident performance across payload scenarios, on-road and off-road conditions, steering precision and ride comfort.
This work forms part of JAC’s ongoing commitment to developing utes engineered for Australian conditions, and will play a key part in the ongoing development of the JAC Hunter in Australia.

Acceleration, transmission performance, braking (confidence and smoothness), drive quality, powertrain, ADAS calibration, ride comfort, handling, torque delivery, off-road capability, traction control, and power distribution to the wheels.

From a technical and product engineering perspective, the philosophy of ‘No Shortcuts’ is more than just a bold statement. It’s a commitment, something that constantly reminds us of the standard we are striving to reach.
And truthfully, that’s not a light thing to say.
Anyone who has restored a car or built something properly knows what a 'no shortcuts' build really involves. It takes time, effort, patience, and the willingness to revisit something until it’s right.
But that process, the time, the discipline, the persistence, is where pride in the work comes from.
