Katie Rebecca Proctor

Katie came into the world on August 8th at 3:57pm. She weighed 9 lbs and 2 oz, and was 20 inches long. She is such a good baby and we are all so excited that she is finally here. I was induced early because my Dr. was going out of town, and I was in hopes that I would have a little smaller baby this time, which worked, (I have had 2 babies bigger than her) but she was still pretty big. We love having her in our little family.

She sleeps like a true Griffin.

She had Jaundice when she was born, and so for a few days she had to be under the bili lights. She did pretty good for having to stay under the lights all of the time, only being able to come out to eat. She is such an easy going baby.

Week with grandma and grandpa

The week after the family reunion Jake and I left the kids in Nevada with my parents for the next week. They loved every moment, and when we asked Hannah at the end of the week if she would rather come home or stay for another week, she wanted to stay. Lund is such a fun place for kids to grow up. I am glad that my kids get to experience it occasionally. Thanks mom and dad for making it so much fun for my kids.

They loved playing with cousins and friends all week.

My mom put them to work in the family garden.

They love jumping on the trampoline.

Hannah has a friend in Lund that lives nearby and she has a little pony she brought over for the kids to ride.

They spent all day outside, and most of the time in their swimming suites.

They loved swimming in the spring and catching guppies.

They had fun riding their bikes and going for walks.

Thanks grandma and grandpa.

While our kids were in Lund for the week, Jake and I enjoyed our freedom.
The first thing I did was clean my house, and it stayed clean the whole week. I enjoyed shopping by myself, took a few naps, got to some projects, read, and in the evenings when Jake was home we enjoyed watching movies, went to a few shows, and while we enjoyed the quiet and being able to do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted, we did miss our kids and were glad to have them back at the end of the week.

Family Reunion

For the 24th of July we had a family reunion and had such a great time. We were able to see some family that I have not seen for about 14 years, because we are all scattered from South Carolina to Nevada. It was fun to see and catch up with everyone.
Our weekend was packed full of so many fun things. We missed the first day of water games, horse riding, shooting, grits and eggs, and hanging out, which we were bummed about. While we were there we rode in the parade on a family float, went to the rodeo, Jake ran a 5k, had kids crafts, ate great food, played games, played volleyball, which is not the same being 9 months pregnant ( I found that out after my first jump), talked about all of our good memories of Grandma and Grandpa, and sat around visiting. I always love listening to my dad and his siblings talk and reminisce. They are so funny and are always cuttin' fool in their southern way. My dad has always been funny, but his brothers and sister seem to pull even more out of him. One of my uncles had done a lot of genealogy research and he discovered in our line around the 1400s, one of our ancestors was a Jester in King Edward IV's court. (family... correct me if my facts are a little off) That would explain where all of the jokes and foolin' come from in our family. We had such a great time and hope to do it again in another 5 years.

Thanks everyone for the surprise baby shower.
