Well, HELLO 28!
I had a wonderful birthday yesterday! It began with my boot camp workout at 5 AM with a birthday fun run…nice! I really love this boot camp. Ben, our instructor, is really encouraging and funny and so are the women. It is really easy to go when you know you are going to laugh as well as sweat your tush off. I then came home and stole some more z’s with J until I had to go to a dr. appt. That went quick, and then we met Mom and Abby for some sushi. I had a craving for a few weeks now and it was fabulous. Abby got me a cool new fossil watch band and they also brought me these beautiful yellow flowers…my favorite color! We got home and J gave me one sweet card and then one hilarious card from him and Jake. He also got me a fitness magazine and Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld. I can’t wait to use it. My other gift is that we are going to pick out a kitchen island at Canton in the next month or so…it will be great for entertaining! While chilling out at home and catching up on Flipping Out, I had 3 deliveries! The first was a pretty cobalt blue bread basket and a cookbook from J’s dad and step-mom Kerry. She always sends me the best kitchen gadgets and accessories. Next, I got a delicious and colorful edible bouquet from my Goddaughter, Maggie. This was the coolest gift! Thank you Maggie!!! We then headed to grab some movies and get subway for our movie night. When we got home, my dear friend Marisa had dropped off a gorgeous hanging plant and gloves. She is SO thoughtful! I can’t leave out… below is my rockin’ birthday girl martini glass from my college roomie, Erin. I can’t wait to use it Friday night at our pre Lost Trailers Concert party. I told James last night that it was the best birthday ever, and I was completely spoiled. If you know me, birthdays are always a huge holiday in my book…not just mine (hee/hee), but everyone’s’. It doesn’t matter how old you are, you should be celebrated on your big day.

River & Blue October
We had a BLAST on the river/concert trip. James and I headed to New Braunfels with the Harrell Bros. (Kyle & Aaron) and Veronica. We floated the Comal river this time...it was shorter and we could judge about how long it would take. After the river we met up with Chris, a college buddy for the Harrells', and then went to the WhiteWater Amphitheater to see Blue October in concert. That was the first time we've been to that venue and let me tell you, it was amazing! Gorgeous hill country surroundings, beautiful trees and sunset. It is an awesome place to go see your favorite bands. The concert was fabulous, and we are now true Blue October fans...thanks Kyle! Some concert pics below - kuddos to our awesome photog James. After the concert we drove to Gruene hall to listen to Gary P Nunn play his last two songs. We didn't pay to go in, but danced around outside. I absolutely love going to Gruene...just a perfect atmosphere. Sunday morning we woke up, went to lunch and then headed home. It took us 5 1/2 hours to get home with all the traffic. It made for some simple out conversations. All in all it was an awesome road trip and I'm glad we got to share it with some good friends.

Happy 4th of July Everyone!
Last night we began our 4th of July celebration with a cook out at my friend Meredith’s. She always has the best gatherings…she’s the hostess with the mostess. We then trekked over to kaboom town in Addison. We got to see some awesome fireworks and discovered we really want a new camera. We are hoping to get one by the end of this summer so I maybe can take a class or just have some extra time to learn all the ins and outs. Any suggestions on what kind of camera to get??? I was thinking about the Nikon D60x….. J and I really want to take a trip during Christmas vacation this year, and how great would it be to have a real camera to travel with….right Michael and Nichole…
Back to the firework show, it was great but crowded, but I loved seeing everyone and spending time with my friend Wendy’s daughter, Morgan. She is growing up so fast!
I had my 9th boot camp session this morning, and I have 3 more before I’m re-measured. Um, I really don’t know what to say except that I get griped at when I have alcohol on my food diary….it’s summer, give me a break! He really rolled his eyes when I said we were floating the river this weekend. I’m going to try to be good.
We’re headed with my neighbors to my parents’ casa in good ole’ Prosper for 4th of July festivities. The Abilene crew is here, so I’m looking forward to playing with my little cousins in the pool and mom’s RIBS…YUM-O. Then we meet our friends at 7AM tomorrow morning to head to Gruene to float the river and then see Blue October in concert. The five of us are cramming in one hotel room and then head back on Sunday. It will be a BLAST!
I hope everyone has a fabulous holiday weekend, and please have safe travels!
Cheers,
K & J

Cooper Reunion
We ventured to Lubbock for my 10 year reunion. I absolutely loved high school and where I grew up. I forget how great it was until I go back and visit. I was one of those goobers that was sad on graduation day, but you know that is a pretty awesome thing to love people you went to school with since you were in early elementary years! I just love bringing J to the hub city. He cracks up at the color of the dirt, cotton fields, dirt alleys, the cheap drinks, and the “strip”. For those of you who are not familiar, that’s the only area where you can purchase beer/wine in Lubbock.
We stayed with my dear friend Mandy and her husband Adam and their new little one Tatum Marie. She is an absolute doll and Mandy let me snuggle with her all weekend! It worked! I came back with a little bit of baby fever, but we’re still waiting one more year. (Sorry Mandy) We had a cookout at Diane’s house. It was the first time in awhile I got to see Braiden, her son. He is 5 and will be starting kindergarten at the new Cooper school this year. He is an athlete just like his mama. Diane is doing great, and her and Chris are so happy and have the best house! Kori and her boys Tate and Cash joined us also. I just love seeing Kori…we always have the best time, and her boys are so handsome! After our cookout we went home and got ready for the reunion at Cagels. The dinner was really good, but only about 15 (plus dates) from our class showed. You know maybe 10 years is not long enough for some, but we sure did miss seeing everyone! I know some couldn’t make the trip, but maybe they can next time…Krystal and I think we should have another in 5 years. We still had a blast and Stephanie and Krystal worked hard on everything….thank you girls. A group of us went out to the depot to Tom’s Daiquiri. This was one of my favorite places to go in college and when I visit. We had a great time reminiscing, and learning about what everyone is up to these days. Michael, Stefanie and Audra – We sure did miss ya’ll!!! It wasn’t the same without ya’ll. Above are some pics of the weekend. Adam was awesome and drove us around to see what all has built up across Tech and to see my old houses. I heart LBK!
Overall we have all changed since high school. but we also haven’t in ways. I think that’s a good thing! Everyone seems happy in life and that’s all that counts!
