We spent Memorial day at my parent's pool and then headed to Love in War for some fried pickels and to meet up with Wes.
I just LOVE music...can't wait for summer concert time!
Marisa and I ran in the May Plano Pacer 5 K. We placed in our age group and were PUMPED...who cares how many were in our age group, right? ; ) We even sported our medals in Hobby Lobby. I bought a frame to a make a chalkboard for our kitchen... I'll post pics if turns out cute.
We have 4 1/2 days of school left ~ spending Friday Funday at Kelly's Eastside on the couch...Mer, Lori, Marisa and me.
Kyle and Mer sporting their Halloween style casts...Kyle works in the behavior unit at our school and was kicked in the hand and dislocated his thumb. Mer was victim of the slip n slide. She skydives and drives a Harley, but will no longer slip n slide!
Check out the Cool Thurs Night concert series at the Arboretum. We listened to the Emerald City band and enjoyed the gorgeous sights of White Rock lake. I'll run two races there this summer...Too to Handle and The Hottest Half..anyone wanna join??
This will be a crazy busy week with school ending and gearing up for marisa’s bachelorette party. Her wedding is just a few weeks away! I can’t wait! I just paid off my car and will begin my last summer school class – EVER! Two blessings! Hope everyone has a great start to their summer and come visit us!
Cheers,
K & J

Consumer Alert and other noteworthy topics….
Remember this?
Well, don’t buy one if you are over the age of 11, b/c this is what can happen. Meet my dear friend Meredith. She was victim to the luring slip n slide at her grandparent’s ranch last weekend. Adults and slip n slides don’t mix. She now has a broken foot and a bright orange cast for several weeks. I’m sorry Mer!
Aside from the broken foot, we spent an AMAZING weekend in the sun at the ranch. It will be one of our last for a while and we enjoyed every minute of it.
This is where I want to retire one day…What can I say, I LOVE TO ROCK! Ha/ha
We have 9 days of school left and I absolutely cannot wait! The only thing gloomy about the end of the school year is beginning my last Master’s class. I will attend class from 1-4 everyday until July 2nd, but then that’s it! I will FINALLY graduate on August 8th! I haven’t decided if I will walk yet, but I know one thing, there will be a HUGE party in honor of the event. It took me long enough, that’s for sure. I’ve always said, I take my time, but I do accomplish my goals. J has helped me tremendously in reaching this goal – I want to add his name to the diploma. Now, it is his turn to go back to school. I am so proud of him!
I am currently procrastinating on working on my portfolio which should be completed by the time June 8th rolls around, so adios and have a great Memorial Day weekend! Be safe and remember the reason for the holiday. I love you Granddad!
You can make it teachers ~ we’re almost there!
Cheers and hugs,
K

LBK TRIP
I road tripped with Kyley a couple of weekends ago to Lubbock to run in a race with Kori and the girls, visit with friends and of course eat at Caprock Café and Orlandos.
We saw lots of these along the way....crazy but gorgeous sunset!
We ran in the Hugh Haynes Memorial 11 mile run at Ransom Canyon. I’ll never forget the monstrous hill the first mile of the race – thanks Kori! And yes folks, there are hills in Lubbock. I will say it was nice running with Kori and along side the cotton fields and windmills, but not the road kill I counted along the way – Gross!
The rest of the weekend was great visiting with the Mandy, Diane and Kori. Mandy's daughter is precious and I enjoyed seeing Braiden at the race.
Kori, thanks for an awesome weekend! It was worth the 12 hour drive - we must be crazy to travel for races! Here we come Rock'n Roll Marathon!!!

Ready for summer???
I am! Thanks to Marisa and Brian, I have a new toy to look forward to using and breaking out during our summer gatherings! I just loved finding this treasure on my doorstep yesterday. What a sweet surprise!
In other news, we celebrated Marisa’s wedding shower at my mom’s house this past weekend. We enjoyed mimosas and Amy’s sweet cupcakes, and a yummy pasta bar. We spent the day at my parents and then headed to Erin’s for her 29th birthday / annual crawfish boil. The rain made for an interesting evening but we had a great time. I look forward to spending more time with the Prosper crew once summer hits!
I would love to post a pic of Marisa’s dress, but that will have to wait…June 27th!
On to this weekend – I am headed with Kyley to LBK to run in a 11 mile race with Kori and the girls. Oh boy, what was I thinking?? I haven’t trained very much lately, so they might have to come find me somewhere in Slaton. I am excited about seeing Mandy and Diane as well! Kyley, thanks for being my roadtrip buddy…I can’t wait!!!
By the way, he is a great dad
~ and he'll be one too....one day. He'll kill me for posting this pic!
Bye bye swine flu vacation hopes,
K
