I will be here with my love and a nice cold beverage!
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
In two weeks, I will have completed my master's....can't wait for that feeling of relief. I have so many things to do between now and the completion of my last course, but the end is in sight! Thanks Debbie for all your help and J for taking care of stuff on the home front!
In two weeks Devin, J's stepsister, will be married (this Sat!) He leaves tomorrow for Boise for the wedding. I am staying in town for Marisa's wedding. I know J will have a blast with all the river rafting trips and fun they have planned.
In two weeks Marisa will be Mrs. Joslyn! Her wedding is this weekend and I can't wait! Kori, I'll post pics pronto.
In two weeks, I should be able to run 10 miles without stopping...um, not there yet, but close! It is amazing how a few weeks of not hard core training can affect you, but I'll get there again. Kori, I'll be ready for the 15k, I promise.
I've noticed everyone is off to a wonderful start of their summer and I hope you continue to make fabulous memories and safe travels.
Much love and hugs,
K

Highs and Lows
Highs –
o J is better! Yea!!!
o Had a great anniversary date (we rotate years). I planned it with him in mind – we saw The Hangover and ate cheese fries at Snuffers. My stomach still hates me!
o Marisa gets married in less than two weeks.
o One week of grad school down
o Maintaining a tan (you know how this pleases me!)
o My sweet friend Sarah got married.
Lows –
o Three weeks of grad school left – I feel overwhelmed most of the time.
o House is a wreck, okay to my definition it is.
o I almost passed out during my long run on Friday. I was stupid to run after lunch time.
o I can’t believe I signed up for the marathon –the idea of it makes me want to puke! I am terrified!
Okay, I’ll stop complaining…it just feels good to vent sometimes.
What are your highs and lows?
Life is good, so I’ll shut up –

Celebrating 3 years of love, laughter, and fun!
We are celebrating our wedding anniversary today! I can’t believe it is our third – I can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
Here are some shots from our dating days… We met during my first week of teaching and became dear friends fast and then fell in love. We went one full year without any type of disagreement…crazy, I know! Don’t worry, we’re normal. I instantly felt lucky when I met J. I felt like God opened the door to this wonderful, sensitive, handsome guy that would support and love me through anything.
Sorry for the all the mush and pictures…I’ve had 2 cups of coffee to help me stay awake during homework.
We got engaged at the Hill Country State Park on Dec. 3, 2006. J drug me on a hike where I complained about the mileage (funny now)and how heavy my backpack was...it had my ring and a picnic for us. After he popped the question, my mood immediately changed and I told everyone we passed on the way down that we just got engaged….you know he loved that!
We planned on getting married at my parents’ church, Rhea’s Mill, but it sadly burned down one month before our wedding (we didn't take it as sign). We were fortunate to find another church down the road that was not decorated in a circus theme for VBS (interesting church stories) and were able to take some photos in front of the gorgeous cross wall still standing at Rhea’s Mill.
The next few wedding pics are some of my favorite and also feature some the details I loved about our wedding. My Grandma Arrington made our ring pillow, and Gammy made our pew bows and basically helped my mom do all the reception and church decorating. I made the fishing bobbers as favors and we danced the night away! The funny surprise was that our limo was a hummer and our DJ was British and difficult to understand. My dad kept yelling, “I can’t understand him at all. When do I dance again?” It reminded me of Steel Magnolias when the father couldn’t hear from shooting the birds.

We love the fact that our wedding was a blast and our guests enjoyed themselves...and the La Hacienda food and beer.
All in all it went smoothly and I LOVE being a Thompson.
Vows for this year to my J:
I promise to always give you my receipts and not hide them in my wallet
I promise to make an effort to wash the coffee pot and make up the bed more
I promise to check the mail more often
I promise to pick my hair out your bathroom sink (sorry, that’s gross)
Most of all,
I promise to love you more than I have before and to support you through your goals and dreams.
This is my beloved,
this is my friend,
Song of Solomon 5:16
Love,
K

This and That...
Last weekend we threw Marisa a bachelorette party Texas style, since we had her last one with her family in Wisconsin. There was no dancing on bar tops this time, but fun was had by all for sure. Thanks to Mom and Karen for driving us….3 weeks Marisa and Brian!!!
Here are some pics from the Paramore/No Doubt concert. No Doubt was my first concert at age 15. I have LOVED them since and used to jam out to their tape in my first vehicle – a 1980 blue ford farm truck otherwise knows as Blue Devil. Give it up for those who remember my awesome ride!! Good times!! We enjoyed the concert with the Byrds and Melissa….well worth the 10 bucks!
Say a little prayer for J please. He has suffered a back injury that has him pretty much in constant pain. We will know his x-ray results tomorrow, but I feel bad for him and I've discovered that I'm not a great nurse.... ; ) I just hope he gets better before his trip to Boise where he plans to river raft...Yikes!
I began my last grad school class today...I won't complain yet, but expect it. I'm also not a great student...I'm a great sun worshiper, but I guess I have plenty of time for that in July! Love to ya and I hope you rock out your summer break.
Hugs,
K & J
