Finally...our vacay pics! We stayed at the Royal Suites in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We totally relaxed each day and ate WAY too much food of course. We talk daily about how much fun we had and how nice the beach was...just like the Corona commercials. We hope to head back to another beach resort in two years on our 5th anniversary. I am still experiencing vacation withdrawals...I need a support group!
I wanted to post a vacay summary, but J is redoing our computer and I don’t have any pictures on my laptop, so it will have to wait until next week. Here’s some Thompson randomness ~ I can’t sleep!
• Went to Yougurtville with Kyley on Sunday…go if you haven’t! What are you waiting for?! They have about 10 flavors and a HUGE topping bar that is all self serve…we went to the one on park and preston.
• Then went back with J on Monday after we dined at Taco Diner and saw Away We Go (Cute, cute, cute…We want a bebe!)
• Had some pool time with Lori at her awesome apt pool at Legacy and the tollway…what a GREAT place to live. I’m getting a little too dark…it’s not the pretty bronze tan…yuck!
• Spent the day with mi madre refinishing an antique desk and chair for our bedroom. I will paint the second coat and glaze this weekend. I’ll post before and after pics soon.
• Going to visit and play with Baby Tyler and Jana, meet up with the girls for HH, and enjoy the weekend with J. He’s been working so much the past few weeks…I miss him! Guess he got sick of me after vacation ; )
I’m going to make sure I enjoy these last three weeks! Hope you do too!

Kori flew in this weekend to run in the Too Hot to Handle 15k with me…or maybe she made me run. Whatever the case, it was a BLAST of a weekend and we did really well in our age group. Kori placed 45th and I placed 49th out of 155 (I think) in our age group. We were working on keeping our 10 minute mile pace for the upcoming San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon in November. The thought of this race makes me want to pass out, but our training program looks reasonable and we are on week two now. We’ll see if I can do this, but I know Kori can! I am headed to the podiatrist today b/c I got a massive blood blister on my foot from our race. I know that is TMI, but I will probably get orthotics b/c my foot turns in a little when I run and puts strain on my feet and knees. I will save your tummies and not post a pic of my blister, but believe me…it looks painful!

We had to carb load, so we went for some Italian food. J, Kyle and Eunice joined us. Eunice also ran in the race and her best time!
We woke up at 5 to head out to White Rock. We heard the parking was going to be difficult so we were there pretty early. Pre race pic!
Post race pic! The weather was pretty nice, thankfully, but we were ready to relax at the pool and eat some well deserved food!
After a nice day of relaxing we headed out to Addison for some drinks and dinner.

I know I still have not posted any vacay pics, but some are on my facebook if you want to take a peek. It was PERFECT, GORGEOUS, and RELAXING! I really couldn't have asked for anything better. I'll make a slideshow soon and post it.

You no longer have to hear my complaints about working on my action research or portfolio, because I’m FINISHED!!! Yes, it only took four years, but I am now a UNT grad of Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Education. That gets me about 10 extra bucks a month! Whoo hoo! I am so grateful to J and my family for all their help and support. I am RELIEVED to have finally completed this last class. I pulled a couple of all nighters and countless hours in front of the computer, but I can now pack away my notebooks and call it quits for a while. If anyone needs any summer reading, I have a 37 page research study on the effects of stress on middle school students that I can loan you. It is simply delightful! ; ) Below are pics of my dear friend Eunice that I bonded with during the last four weeks. She is hilarious! Too bad that she is moving in August to NYC, but I know she’ll do great things. We celebrated our accomplishment (after about 3 hours of sleep) at blue fish for some sushi, sake, and fun!

J went to McCall, Idaho last weekend for his stepsister's wedding. Devin and Walt's wedding was on lakeside and they hosted a fun week for everyone! J had a blast and brought back a couple of hundred pics...here are some goodies. He also went river rafting, but we need to develop those from the water camera. Their theme was blue for water...which they both love.
