The waiting game....

I'm sure most of you moms out there know what I'm talking about. I'm in my 38th week and just waiting for little Mr. Jayton to decide to arrive. Our last appt was on Friday where we found out I'm 4 centimeters dilated (sorry for TMI) and 80% effaced...so basically that means I want my drugs now ; ) I know, I'm a wimp. My ribs, back, chest plate, and now tailbone are feeling the weight of this little man, and this mama is ready to deliver. So the waiting continues....

In other news, we've had a fun spring break. We knew this would be our last spring break to enjoy as a childless couple, so we've gone out to eat like 6 times (answers the question of how I met my 30lb mark) gone to the movies and the Black Eye Peas concert. I also spent some time with friends and by the pool with my family. I love my family by the way. My mom and sister have helped me tons this week! We are very fortunate to bring Jayton in our family, both the Thompsons and Arringtons...he's one lucky dude!

I'll get around to posting pics of the completed nursery one day, meanwhile, I have alot of thank you notes to tackle. We have been spoiled and blessed beyond belief with baby supplies - thank you everyone! I promise to send a message of thanks before his first birthday...ha/ha!

Baby mama hugs,
Kel

My son gave us the bird....

from his 36 week sonogram on Wed! Is this a sign of what is to come from little mr. Jayton Andrew? ; )
He is approx 6lb and 15oz and 20.1 inches
She said it will be a gusher when my water breaks....nice! Makes me feel a little bit better since I've gained 3 lbs the past 2 weeks. My doc thinks he'll come anytime between now and April 1st, but I hope he lets me enjoy spring break and makes sure his lungs are fully developed and strong.

We can't wait to meet you!!! I'll post sono pics this week.

Enjoy spring break teacher friends!

Yep, I’m a hypocrite!

I’m a big ole fat 36 week preggo hypocrite! I always said, “Oh, I’ll be fine until that sweet baby boy wants to come. Even if he is two weeks late, I’ll be fine with that.” Well, I’m officially uncomfortable, and am hoping he’ll come right around his due date. I don’t want him to be early, but no later than Easter please little man. I know all you moms are rolling your eyes saying, “I told you so,” but I do not look forward to teaching 138 8th graders how to sew when I’m 38 weeks. My ankles and feet have now reached the swollen stage, which makes for an interesting tattoo, and I thought I was home free on the stretch marks, but I’m afraid I just might get some on my thighs of all places!!! That won’t be pretty in running shorts!!! And what is that growth on my neck…is it his twin?! And one more thing, I’ll be so relieved when the women at school stop “sizing” me up each morning deciding how long I really have or how long it will take me to lose the 24 lbs I’ve gained and am adding too with yummy meals like Chick Fil A and Uncle Julio’s.

Whew!! I feel better after that. Don’t get me wrong, I am sooo excited (and scared). I can’t wait to see J and my dad hold that sweet little boy, and to finally see what he looks like! Plus, spring break is next week, so I can relax (if I let myself). I hope to see my LBK running buddies, have lunch with friends, visit with my mom and sister, BLACK EYE PEAS CONCERT, and go on a couple of dates with my hot hubby who has been very patient with my moods and gas noises. Hee/hee…I laugh like a middle schooler every time it happens. Pregnancy has been both what I expected and not what I expected….at this point, I am just curious as hell to see what the next couple of months has in store for us as new parents. Have I mentioned that I’m only one of two women who want an epidural in my childbirth class of 13 preggos?! I think they are brave….crazy, but brave.
I have definitely not blogged about all the things that we have experienced as we get ready to be first time parents…it would probably be worth a laugh, but that’s okay. I’ll leave you with a few picks from my shower that my AWESOME girlfriends threw for me. Thank you KORI and DIANE for driving down to share the day with me…..it meant the world to me! I promise next time to offer you alcohol! ; )

Thank you Kyley and Diane for a fun Olympic night with the family!

Jayton's bedding that his Great Gammy made!

Jayton's ladies: Audrey (J's mom), Gammy (my grandma), me and my mom who will be "Mimi".

My hostesses...Ginny, Wendy, Kara, me, Meredith, Erin, Kyley and Marisa

LOVED THIS CAKE!!!

I'll blog more spring break. I've got pics from our luncheon shower this past weekend and Jason Boland concert pics.

Cheers!
