Busy Life!

It's been six months from my last post! Since my sister, Lyndsey, has been on her mission, my family emails weekly and I don't feel the need to post as often.

Here are a few pics of the kids:

Ella chillin in her tinkerbell bday dress (and pretend glasses).
Can you believe she's four-years-old!?
Little Ruby - a sweetie most of the time, but assertive when necessary.
(You need to be with Addie & Ella around!)
Addison in her beautiful ballgown I found at a garage sale. (the sun was in her eyes)
Check out those icicles on the front porch!

Ruby, the Walker

Ruby is officially a walker . . . as of five weeks ago. :) I'm just a little slow on sharing that information. She's into everything and just loves to unroll the bathroom toilet paper if someone forgets to shut the door when finished. Just yesterday she figured out how to flush it!

She loves pushing around the strollers like her older sisters!

Driving the bus. A&E don't play with this much, but Ruby Loves it.
She loves to stand on the front of it and just dance.

Such a happy happy girl.

St. George and an Afternon Excursion

We decided to go on a little hike one of the mornings we were in St. George. The girls had a blast collecting rocks and spending time with Grandma.

Ruby wanted to walk everywhere!

Grandma and the girls.

Ella's pockets were so full of rocks they kept falling off her little bum. It was quite hilarious!

This is James doing pride rock with Rubes.

The First Eggs

The girls were ecstatic to find the first eggs. Ella even took one in the pool with her. ;) All of our chickens are currently laying. We have two brown egg layers and two bluish green egg layers! Now for Easter, we won't need to dye eggs - something I don't really enjoy anyway!

First Day of School

I've really slacked with the blogging lately. Life has just been so full, there hasn't been time for extras! Addie is LOVING school. She doesn't love getting ready in the mornings, but school more than makes up for it. On the second or third day, she came home and said, "Mom, I have SO many new best friends!" She's a social butterfly that is thriving!

This is the chicken decal that my mother made for Addie's backpack. This backpack actually belonged to me! My name was embroidered on the back of it and we needed to cover that up. The chickens turned out cute - Addie LOVES it.

Aladdin

My mom & Dad had an extra ticket to Aladdin at the Tuacahn amphitheatre last month and it worked out for our family to head on down. The show was great, I really enjoyed it. I did feel guilty that I was the one there and not Addie or Ella though. Addie would have just been in awe the whole time. It was definitely nice to go somewhere without the kids. The only thing missing was James! (He was babysitting)

Empty Sea

My dear sister, Lyndsey, is leaving next week to serve a full-time mission for our church. Since Lyndsey is well-loved by my children, she is often the topic of conversation around our dinner table. Tonight was no different and Addie's conversation went like this:

Addie: "Mom, does Lyndsey go into the *MTC (Missionary Training Center) soon?
Me: "Yes, she leaves next week."
Addie: "Does is have water there?"
Me: (Hesitation because I feel this is quite an odd question) "Yes, it does."
Addie: "Then why do they call it the Empty Sea?"
Me: (Understanding dawns as I realize she's hearing it completely different. She was probably trying to make sense of MTC because acronyms don't have much meaning to a five-year-old!)
Giggles follow as I explain what it really means.
Addie: "I hope we can go swimming there."
Me: "No, we can't. Only missionaries and people who work there can go."
Ella: "Yeah, they have sharks there!"

So, Lynds, I believe Addie is relieved you have water available and I'll try to appease Ella's mind regarding the sharks. :)

We sure will miss you while you're gone. Life will definitely be different without you coming over!
