Happy Birthday McKenzie

My sweet Kenzie turned four in Dec. I have been so bad about not updating my blog that I nearly forgot to put her birthday on. How sad is that. She was so excited to turn four. The night before her birthday Andy had asked her to do something and she told him "when I am three I just don't know but when I turn four I will be obedient." She was so cute, Andy had the day off on her birthday so we took her to lunch to her favorite place to eat. Wendys. She also had preschool that day so she took cookies to share with her preschool friends. We then went home to get ready for her party with the Smiths. We had dinner and cake and ice cream. Mckenzie had a cute princess cake which she helped me decorate. We had another party the next night with the Hansens. Mckenzie had so much fun opening her gifts. She definately did not need Christmas this year because she was spoiled by all her grandmas and grandpas.

Mckenzie and her favorite cousin Hannah have so much fun together. They look so cute in this picture.

Christmas Eve and Christmas day

We spend Christmas eve at Grandma and Grandpa Hansens house. We had Olive Garden for dinner and some yummy snacks. Andy's cousin Ashlyn and her husband Austin did a little program for everyone. They talked about Mary and the sacrifices she made throughout her life. They did a great job. We then opened presents and watched the kids play with their new toys. When we got home that night Kenzie and TaeLynn opened their presents from mommy and daddy. They got jammies, blankets and a movie. Mckenzie was so excited to get new princess jammies. I think she would have been happy if this is all she got! She loves these jammies. Now its off to bed for the kids. Santa came and ate the brownies and chocolate milk Mckenzie had left out for him. The reindeer even ate their food she sprinkled out on the steps for them. Christmas morning was pretty interesting. We had to wake Mckenzie up and she was not interested in what santa had brought her. She came down the stairs and asked so what did Tae get? And then asked who opened my presents, mom did you open my presents? It was so funny. It took her a good 15 minutes to get into it and start opening her presents. After we did that we went down to Andy's parents house. More gift exchanges and fun times. We were so spoiled this year.

My family had our Christmas party a little early this year so that we could all be together. We had so much fun together and watching the kids exchange gifts.

Breakfast with Santa

We had such a good Christmas and New Years this year. We started our Christmas with my family Christmas party and breakfast with Santa. Mckenzie was so excited to see him and she kept asking me if he was the real santa. I must say he did do a pretty good Santa. We had so much fun hanging out with family, opening presents and eating yummy food.

Kids waiting for Santa to come. It was so cute because as soon as Mckenzie heard Santa's bells she was off to be the first in line to sit on his lap. She was so excited to see him.

4 months

TaeLynn had her 4 month appointment today. Here are her stats and also some interseting information that my Dr. told me

Weight: 14lbs 12 oz 74%
Height: 24 1/2 in 59%

So my Dr just got back from the 2009 National Academy of Pediatrics Convention and they learned some new facts about feeding babies solid foods.
No more rice cereals, I guess there is not much nutrients in it. Good for us because TaeLynn was not enjoying this too much!
No more waiting 3-4 days before starting new foods, only need to wait 1-2 days.
By 6-8 month you can give them wheat cereal, egg products, Peanut Butter and citrus fruits.
I am anxious to start giving her fruits and veggies! Hopefully she will eat them better than her cereal we tried last night.
TaeLynn is such a happy baby. She has such a sweet spirit and we love having her in our little family. I just wish they would stop growing so fast. Where did that newborn stage go? I miss it already.
We love you TaeLynn!

Life is rough

Ha ha I just had to post this picture because it just makes me laugh, and because this happens to her all the time. Its so hard being a girl!

Do you love the sound of your crying baby

So I have a funny little story of Mckenzie. Yesterday I think I was busy doing the dishes or something and TaeLynn had waken up from a nap. She was crying and I was trying to hurry and finish the dishes before going up and getting her. Well Mckenzie comes in a couple of minutes after and looks at me and says "mama do you love that sound?" I then replied with "what sound? TaeLynn crying?" Yes mom, I said well its not my favorite. So Kenzie tells me "then go do something about it."
Silly girl!
