A little from our week...

my happy Iz in the morning... love this pic.
I found Iz these owl pjs and I just love them... they were in the boys section, but I thought they were too cute and knew Iz wouldn't mind.
Ready for the day!
Ready for dinner!
Isabelle is already into the dollar bills... dangerous.
i.
love.
you.

I helped host a baby shower for a friend at work yesterday and made these little chocolates (I also made them for Kenzie's and forgot to share), I just wanted to share them because they were so easy, cute and taste good.  I got the mold at Hobby Lobby for like $2 and it has bottles, rattles, shoes, safety pins and horses on it, so it's a good variety of baby items, perfect for a shower!  I found white candy melts with little flecks of color in them at Michaels, they were perfect and turned out so pretty... recommend.
We put one of the chocolates on a cookie so you could see it better.. and give  you a decorating idea, just put a little frosting under it and stick it on!  We had some good treats at the shower and Rachel got some great stuff... we can't wait to meet Samantha!

My family was in town from KY and came to Lawrence for dinner last night, it was fun for them to meet Iz... Rio (my cousin's little guy) wanted to hold her and this is how it worked out... too cute.
Gram feeding Iz, with Gigi (my gram) and my aunt Sher.. so fun to have them at our house.
Rio wanted to sit with Iz and have her eat right in front of him, he was so funny.  We had a great dinner that the fam brought, it was so nice to chat and hang out.. we get to spend the day with them tomorrow!

First attempt at cake balls...

Cake balls and pops seem to be the new thing these days and I had been wanting to try and make them for a while, so I thought the showers were the perfect opportunity... let me just preface this with, there are a lot of steps and waiting, so they are time consuming, but delicious!
Red Velvet:
*Make the cake as normal and let it cool (low fat option: 1 C water, 1/3 C apple sauce + 3 eggs and reduce bake time 1-2 mins)
*Crumble into bowl and add 2/3 jar of cream cheese icing (the whole jar makes them too sticky)
*Mix together and form into balls (tip: let the dough rest a little while before rolling to prevent sticking)
*If you are going to add sticks to make the pops, you would do that now and then put them into the freezer (tip: dip the ends of the sticks into melted chocolate and then into the balls)
*After they are pretty solid (a few hrs in the freezer), dip them in candy coating (I used white/vanilla) and let dry on parchment paper or stick them into a piece of foam covered with plastic wrap if you do the sticks

The finished product... they definitely weren't perfect, but they still tasted good... I am determined to make them look better the next time I make them.. practice makes perfect.
I also made some peanut butter ones from a recipe I got from a friend at work and they are also wonderful and so healthy, check these ingredients..

2 sticks of butter (eek, I know)
2 C creamy peanut butter
5 C powdered sugar

*Mix butter and pb until smooth
*Slowly add powdered sugar a little at a time, texture should be similar to sticky play-dough
*Form into balls and put in the freezer for a few hours, then dip into candy coating (I used chocolate) and let dry
For the candy coating... you can buy the Wilton's candy melts at Michaels (they had a lot of colors) or Hobby Lobby (and use coupons.. bonus) or just use almond bark that you find at the grocery if you just want white or chocolate colors.

Sunday with Izzy girl...

Isabelle spent the night at gram's house for the first time Saturday night and she ate her meals in the same seat I sat in when I was little.. this was my 'high chair'.. I don't know that it looks super safe, but it seemed to work!  Gram tried mashing up some mangos for breakfast, but Iz wasn't a huge fan of them.
Yay for being able to play with and sit on Ryan the Zebra!  Iz got it from The Turpins (sis & bro in-law + kids) for Christmas and it's the best thing ever, so many fun things to play with on it... I highly recommend it, Iz loves it.
She was starting to get antsy because we kept trying to get a good pic of her on it by herself and then I think we just made her mad.. oops.
We had to change into her romper because it was just too hot out.. love her in this romper.
I think Isabelle is going to start crawling from this position, (I know it's not the norm, but what is, right?) because she leans so far forward and starts to get her legs under her and then will either fall forward or lean back on her bum...
starting to move her hands forward and lean forward...
then she gets to this position or even a little more forward and will flatten out... I feel the crawling is in the near future, I just hope I don't miss it while I'm in China!
We had brunch with Gigi, Papa, Ashley and Byron, so Iz got to hang with her fam and she loved it (even though she passed out while we were eating)... she loves Papa's voice when he talks and sings to her.
I love my Sundays with Iz, well and Saturdays, but I really cherish my Sundays because the work week is the next day and I don't get to spend as much time with my little mama... I just never want my Sundays to end.

{Abbey's Weddin' Shower}

We tried to get all of Abbey's fav foods + treats for her shower, so we had many delectable things to eat and quite the spread... spring rolls from Siagon 39, crab rangoon, rasberry black bean dip, veggies, lemon cupcakes, cake balls and a chocolate fountain with lots of dippings.. we were able to borrow a fountain from one of my mom's friends and it was my first attempt at using one, pretty easy and delicious, but clean up = not fun.  This is everyone getting everything ready before the guest of honor arrived...
here is the bride to be (B2B) looking wonderful as always.
All the hostesses/bridesmaids.. Lizzy, Runge (aka Lindsey), Meghan, Abbs, Conn (aka Katie), Sal (we missed you Bonny, Jess and Whitney!).
Sisters!  XO for life ;)!  It was so great to see everyone's beautiful faces and to catch up a little... wish we all lived in the same city again... love you girls!

Baby Shower for Kenzie.

We had two showers this past weekend, so it was a fun filled day of friends.. and food of course.
Izzy girl wore another one of my mom's friend's dresses and it was so cute on her.. the dress is hand made, they just don't make clothes like that anymore.

Henry with his bow that his mom tied on for him. too cute.
We had some delicious cookies and I made cake balls and chocolates... all tasty.
I got to make another diaper cake... they make such great center pieces at showers.
Isabelle was such a great guest, she just hung out and was so happy the whole time.. thank you Iz.
I like this pic because it looks like Iz is looking up and talking to her gram.
I had to take this pic for Jayme... we love her 'Izzy' bloomers, they are so cute on her!
Iz loved McKenzie's necklace (her 'jewels' as I like to call them), she wanted them so bad.
Iz and Lauren... and Iz reaching for Amber's hair...
The hostesses and guest of honor.. Kel, Kenz and Megan.
The hostesses and mini hostesses.

Isabelle + Greyson

Iz playing in her composer seat while I eat breakfast... our usually morning routine.
The Wasinger's came to visit and stay with us Friday night and it was so fun to get Isabelle and Greyson together.  Let me just give you a little commentary of what's going on here.. Greyson has packets of chewables (I started selling Juice Plus+ (great stuff!), will tell you more about it later) and they make a really cool sound, so Iz thought she needed them (even though she has 5 toys in front of her)...
She is saying, come on G, just give them to me.. he is way too into them to give them up, so Iz reaches in for the steal.. it was a success.. so we got smart and separated them so they could each have one..
And I think Greyson was trying to show Iz that his was still better, extreme close up.. then they are like, lets just be even, high five it out...
or hold hands (I kind of love this picture)... Greyson even kissed Iz on the cheek, at least that's what we called it ;)
Isabelle was taking her bubble bath and Greyson decided that he wanted to join... I'm so glad he did because they were so cute in the tub together.
We kept trying to get them both to look at the camera and this is all we got, like 5 times.
They layed by each other while we got them ready for bed and Greyson was funny because he just wanted to play with the lotion bottles
Yay, they are both looking at the camera!  It was so fun to have Isabelle and Greyson hang out and to watch them interact with each other... it's like they were both trying to figure each other out and were so intrigued by one another, I'm so glad they had some bonding time... Runge and I think they love each other :).  Thank you Wasinger's for a fun relaxing night and thank you Runge for helping me dip the cake balls!
