Scissors - 5 "

Okay, so I was finally brave and cut my hair!
Thanks to Ashlee for inspiring me to try this style...
even though it took me three
months to finally just do it.
I decided to go for the A-line cut
...now we are twinners Amber.

Surprise!

Laurie (Mike's mom) and Nana came to Utah (from New Jersey) for a surprise visit for Beth's (Mike's sister) baby shower. Beth was ecstatic! It's great when surprises work and no one accidentaly leaks any info!

After the baby shower we went on a drive to see the leaves and the mountains...

our mountains are huge out here, compared to the ones back east :)

Provo Canyon...and matching outfits...not planned :)

What next???

I have finally had some time to post again...but that's only because I've been home sick.

Four weeks ago I got a bad cough, then two weeks later when my cough was almost gone I started having a hard time breathing deeply and the lower ribs on my right side were sore to the touch. Once again I went back to the Doc and found out that I have Costochondritis, which is an inflammation of the cartilage between my ribs - or something like that. It is usually caused from an injury to the area, but it can be caused from straining from coughing. I have never broken any ribs, but I imagine I know what it feels like. I still have the costochondritis but it's getting better. Then two days ago I came down with strep!!! What fun! Ok not really, pretty miserable stuff, I just wonder what's next...

I am not trying to complain, I've already done enough of that to Mike :), but the point of my story is: Don't take your health for granted!!! I need to remember to thank my Heavenly Father more often for my health and strength. Our bodies are truly amazing. I am also grateful for Priesthood blessings, medicine and knowledgeable doctors.

Elk

My second cousin, Michelle (15 yrs old), got an elk this year! They invited Mike and I to come along for the experience of getting it off the mountain (I will try to make this G and leave out the not so pleasant pictures).
Michelle and her elk We were able to ride the horses up the trail. We both enjoyed it and can't wait to go again.
You look like a natural horse rider Mike!
Michelle's whole family and Mike (not me!!!) helped get the elk skinned,
quartered, etc. to get it off the mountain. (I didn't think this pic was too bad)

We packed the elk down on their horses.

Hiking back home
That's me on the horse on the left...are you jealous Heidi?

We are sure having some new experiences out here in Vernal!

Flaming Gorge

A couple saturdays ago Mike and I drove up to Flaming Gorge to check it out.
The dam is pretty impressive and the area was beautiful.
