Rocking the Bumbo already?!

Can't believe how quickly Anderson is growing! He had been enjoying some time in the Bumbo. He sits in there until he's exhausted, then I get him out and he almost immediately falls asleep. Must be quite the workout!

So much love

I was vacuuming in the living room, Anderson was sleeping on my bed. As I was finishing up, I noticed that the other kids had disappeared into my room. I had visions of them jumping on the bed, or maybe on Anderson's head... I went to check and found him surrounded. He had been fussing and I hadn't heard him so they took matters into their own hands. So grateful that they love each other so much. I am blessed.

Living the life

Anderson didn't nap much the other day, unless it was while I was holding him. We don't usually have days like those, so I knew will enough to enjoy it. I snapped this picture while he was asleep on my shoulder.

Just chillin'

The other night while we were reading scriptures, Anderson feel asleep on the bed between Jared and I. I looked over and he had reached up and put his hand on Jared's arm. To sweet!

Birthday Boy!

Birthday parties are always fun, but birthday parties for 2 year olds are the best. Everything is exciting and awesome and you just can't go wrong. Briggs was spoiled with some fun gifts that were just perfect for him. Not a day has gone by that he didn't use his tools, drive his little four-wheeler, play with his horse or put some silly animal together.

Or jump on his bike! His bike is practically a member of the family. He tells it goodnight, drives it around the house(it is IN the house), waits while he eats dinner, hours with him into his room to change clothes, etc. It's pretty funny.

Freezing at football

All Briggs wants its to watch football. And lots of it. More specifically he wants to watch his cousins play football. So into the windy, rainy cold weather we go, because we love those boys.

Brrr!

Jared had the sprinkler going so the kids thought they better go run through it- can't let it go to waste, right? And the fact that it was only 65° out?! Minor detail!

Stuck

Poor Briggs just wanted to sit in the Bumbo! Unfortunately he has grown a little bit since the last time he sat in there...

The "Mountains"

Briggs has been talking about the "mountains" for weeks.  We had been planning on taking them to our ward campout, but then it rained(and flooded!) that day instead.  But he never forgot that promise.  So when I asked what he wanted to do and where he wanted to go on his birthday, he didn't miss a beat, and responded, "The MOUNTAINS!"  It rained again that afternoon/evening, but we went anyway!  It wasn't too bad, the rain was just enough to make everything good and muddy up there. :)

Anderson's little smile as we were all hanging out.  The kids were giggling really hard at about this time, and he was just happy.

Beautiful sunset.  The pictures didn't do it justice.

Trying to light the candles.  The girls were supervising Jared.

Singing "Happy Birthday" and blowing out the candles.

Eating dinner and enjoying the fire.

Love this picture.  Love this man.  He loves each of the kids so much and shows them all the time.  This was during a conversation about pre-school that day.

Love these kids.  My brother Zane gave Briggs some cheetos as part of his birthday present.  Dinner that night may have been 85% cheetos...

Waking up a little more.  I think the fire was popping and he was trying to see what was going on.

Who knew that one of their favorite parts would be the stairs and trail next to the stairs?  They ran up and down this for quite a while.

Thinking Christmas...

I think Fisher-Price must personally know Maddie. A princess stable?! She could hardly contain herself.

Love

They teach me so much about what it means to love another.

Circular conversation

Emma saw that Briggs had a couple of scratches on his arm.  Emma was wondering what happened so I asked him.
Me:  "Briggs, what happened to your arm?"
Briggs: "I got an owie."
Me:  "Where?"
Briggs:  (pointing at his arm) "Right here."
Me: (trying again) "Where did it happen?"
Briggs:  "Right here. On my arm."
Me:  "But what happened to your arm?"
Briggs: "I got an owie."
I give up.
Briggs has always been a good talker, but it is astounding the words/sentences he has come up with lately.
He has been playing with baby dolls lately. It is sweet, until the baby supermans it down the stairs. Or becomes his basketball.
He loves all trucks, motorcycles, trains, planes, horses and any kind of ball.
As we talk about soccer and school for the girls, Briggs often says, "How 'bout me?!" Poor kid is ready to be BIG. Sorry buddy, you get to hang with mom for a while longer...

My boys

Soccer season!!

It's here! The girls both started soccer this week. This is the first soccer season for both of them, and their first time not being in the same team for little league.
We were able to get a couple of pictures of Emma at practice, but don't have any of Maddie yet. :/
They both had lots of fun. I'm curious to see how aggressive they will be in their games today.
At practice, Emma would run quickly toward the ball, but when one of the boys came she would step aside so they could have it. Once she actually said, "Excuse me." As she stepped out of the way. It was pretty funny.
I've been practicing with her and trying to teach her to be aggressive, and now she says she is going to push them and elbow them out of the way. Not quite what I was trying to teach her, either...

Football Season

It is that time of year! With 3 nephews playing football, I think we'll get our fill of football. But then again, I'm not sure if Briggs will ever get enough football. He was MESMERIZED. It was such a beautiful day for football, Drake did a great job. Fun to be going to high school football games again!

"A"

Emma is going to pre-school this year, but Maddie is having a hard time with not going, so I've been doing a home school type thing with them,  too. This week was the letter "A".
Today, for our field trip, we went to the airport. By the time we were all ready and the kids had their chores done, it was much later than I had planned. But we got there just in time to see a plane come in. The kids loved it and were fascinated.
There were lots of missionaries there, I thought new missionaries we're coming in.
We were up on the viewing deck and I started chatting with a couple of older sister missionaries. It turns out that the entire zone had come to say good-bye as Elder Ward's family headed home.
It was emotional for me to watch his family. I can't even imagine. I feel so blessed to be there and feel the Spirit surrounding them.
My kids hugged Sister Payne as she left and Emma told her she loved her. Maybe she needed that today?
As we stood and watched the plane take off,  a little of my heart went with them. What started out as a simpler moment with my kids turned into something bigger and more meaningful than I could have ever imagined. When Briggs came over and said,  "Hold me, Mama?" I scooped him up and squeezed him for as long as he would let me. Tell(and show!) the people you love how much they mean to you.

Molly

Molly has grown and changed so much since we got her. She still has lots of energy,  but she is learning to control it. I took her running this morning. Whew! Talk about a work out!!

Pre-School!

Emma was SO excited for pre-school today. She couldn't wait to wear her New clothes, see her friends and write and color. She grew so much this summer and jumped two pant sizes!! She had a great first day and can't wait to go back.
I took the others to the post office, wal-mart and visiting teaching in those two hours. Productive morning for all of us!
Maddie and Briggs wanted to take a picture, too!!
