Oh, here we go!

Wow,it has been a long time since we have added a post to our award winning blog. And by award winning, I mean, my own personal award that I gave the blog today. Yay us!

First things first, I am one week away from completing my first year in the BYU MBA Program. Let me tell you, it has been a long year between school and full time work at the Mac. If you don't believe me...you can ask my roommate/wife Emily, she will give you the real story. Yes, unfortunately it has been in that order lately.

The program has been very interesting and I have learned a lot from it. I hope to be able to spend more time with Emily as I have the month of July off, then I am back the beginning week of August for the 2nd and final year. Half way through!!!

The Winn household has stayed relatively drama free the last little while, mainly because neither of us our home. We are still in the adoption process at LDS Family Services. Patiently waiting for the right birth mom to pick us. Hopefully that happens soon for us.

If you haven't had a chance please check out our blog

If you come across anyone who maybe interested in our information, please feel free to pass along our info to them. Thanks for the help!

Let's see...what else is going on in our lives? Emily is working at Academy Mortgage and enjoying her time there. She is awesome at her job, and everyone in the firm there loves her. She has been the sole reason I have survived this past year. With everything out of balance for me, she has had to step up and carry the load at home for us, and most of that has been a load of crap! just sayin'

I am ashamed to announce that I have become a slave to technology, I am on my laptop doing school work all of the time. Somehow, I did find time to purchase an i Pad and pre-ordered the new i Phone...Will be here next week! Yes!! I really should own stock in Apple.

We are heading on vacation once I officially finish the first year, we are going to Alaska on a cruise. We are way excited and we are leaving via Vancouver...so I will get to return to my old mission stomping grounds. Should be a great time.

Other than that, things are groovy for us. We always have something going on, and hope to have the opportunity to see all of our friends and family soon. Let us know if there is anything we can do for any of you.

Love you all!

Been Awhile

(Executive MBA Class 2011, BYU)

It has been a crazy Summer for us. Emily accepted a great position at Academy Mortgage where she is an Office Manager. She spends tons of time working and whipping that place into shape. She enjoys the fast pace mortgage life and has been very successful there.
I started the MBA Program at BYU the beginning of August. It has been a crazy whirlwind, but luckily I have been able to keep my head above water, and I am attempting to juggle home life, work, and school. So far I give myself about a B. Hopefully I can hit my stride and get that grade up to an A.
This fall is going to be fun for us. We are looking forward to spending time with friends and family. If anyone has any fun plans let us know. BYU and Utah Football are in full swing. They way things are going it could be a blood bath! We love you all and hope things are great with you!

Biking, Geocaching, Lakers, and Road Trips.

Well, Emily and I are having a good start to summer so far. We are enjoying our new bikes that we got for Christmas. We really enjoy the hybrids. There are nice for Road and getting off the trail a little bit. They have been perfect for me and the Mrs. Em even let me get a Camelbak, so I look legit.

We have started up Geocaching again this Summer. In fact, we are actually going to hide a couple of caches for people to find around our neighborhood. If you haven't tried it out, come with us. It is a lot of fun and a great way to get and out relax and see nature. We love it.

Unfortunately the Lakers won the Western Conference Finals. This is Lame!! I hate the Lakers. They are a bunch of whiney &^$^%#%. Oh well, at least I can hopefully see them lose in the Finals.

Finally, Em and I are getting ready for our Summer Road Trip in June. We are heading to Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. We have nor been to Rushmore and it has been a while for Yellowstone...not to mention that we have never been there together. If any of you out in blogland have any good ideas for us to hit on our way out there...just let us know. We are going to be staying in Cheyenne, Deadwood, Cody and Yellowstone. Yeah, I know you are all jealous! Love you all!

DC Trip

So I just got back from the Lovely District of Columbia. Me and Ace had some skymiles to burn, so we thought it would be an entertaining/educational trip. We had a great time.

We went to an Orioles game in Baltimore. Checked out the White House, Capitol, Smithsonian all of the Monuments and Mt. Vernon. It was a way fun trip. I will post more pics later.

MBA Bound

I must be a glutton for punishment. I have been accepted and decided to enroll in the MBA class of 2011 @ Brigham Young University. I know what you all are thinking. Jason? You are already so talented and brilliant. Why are you going for a Graduate Degree? The answer is this: Why the heck not?

This should successfully fill the void in my life of not having enough to do. For those of you who know me well, this may seem like an insane endeavour. To those of you who think that, I say..."you're right!"

All of that insanity aside, this will be a great opportunity for me and Emily. The program will give us some great networking relationships with the Marriott School and help me to increase my skill set and become a better manager and business owner! (As if that is even possible!)

Keep us in your prayers. Since nothing else has really gone according to plan for us the past few years, let's hope this will be a positive challenge. At least BYU sends me on a International Business Excursion at the end of this thing...so it won't be all bad! Europe here I come!! (Or India, or China, or wherever).

Yanni Voces

So here is the first Album review of 2009. Yanni "Voces." This masterpiece combines the classical new age rhythms of Yanni with the best of today's Latino singing voices.

If you love Yanni, and lets face it...who doesn't? Then my friends, run! Don't walk to your local purveyor of fine music and purchase this life changing album.

OK seriously, it isn't that bad. I was watching the concert on PBS a few weeks ago, and by watching I mean I was passed out on the couch and it happened to start playing. It actually is an interesting take on his songs, all with Spanish Vocals.

So I went to amazon.com and ordered the CD. Reason one, to improve my non-existent Spanish. Second, Yanni has apparently cut his hair and shaved his stache! This in and of itself was reason enough for me to buy this gem.

There actually are a few listenable songs on here, so if you have the means and like Yanni, I highly recommend picking it up!
