Driveway Fun and Chicks

McKay has decided that he LOVES to ride his bike. Every time we get ready to head outside, he grabs it or one of his push toys or his stroller. The driveway is one of his favorite places to play. The hill really freaks dad out though.

We also got to visit dad at work since he was nap resisting. He couldn't stop looking at the little chicks.  I think they scared him a bit though.

Park Fun

McKay has been trying to be such a big boy lately and he loves daddy!!  We love playing at the park. It is a good thing that it is close by.

Grandma Gough Kisses

Tummy Sleeps

The last few days McKay has started to roll over from his back to his belly with no problem...the problem is trying to get back onto his back.  He can't seem to figure it out and gets stuck.  The crib and nap time are the best times to practice I guess.  He has started to play a lot in his crib at night and has been rolling onto his stomach and falling asleep. It really freaked me out at first and I rolled him over a couple of times but he has been sleeping most of the night on his belly and he seems comfortable.

My Boys

I love getting pictures from Jason when I am working. These two pictures came today after Jason's interview in Hildale. Hopefully we will hear some good news soon, but it will be sad that they won't have a lot of time together like they do now.

Car Seat Trouble

Well...the new car seat business is the pits.  I am not sure we are going to be able to get the seat to fit in our car correctly rear-facing to get the right angle. At this point,  with 3 pool noodles to lift up the front, we still have a floppy-headed sleeping baby. I drove today reaching into the back seat to hold his head up and then held the poor boy in my arms to finish his nap.  I think we need to find a solution to this problem quickly.

Solid Food: Trial and Error

McKay has not taken to eating any type of solid food very easily but I don't think our chunky man is hurting for any calories. We started testing solids with him just before his 6 month mark and he would not have any of it. We started with rice cereal mixed with breast milk and he would snap his mouth shut as soon as the spoon got close. With a little creativity and laughing we would get a little in and he would do the nasty shiver and try to spit it out and then turn his head for any other bites. We kept trying with oatmeal, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, bananas, green beans, peaches and chicken. He tolerated the chicken and green stuff the best but only had a few bites at best. He did eat some avocado at a restaurant but it was on my finger.

Needless to say, we were getting a little frustrated and so we gave it a rest for a couple of weeks and I think it did the trick. On July 14th he willingly opened his mouth for some peach puffs and some mixed veggies and beef baby food. He still did the yucky shiver when he was swallowing, but I think that is a texture thing. He even ate a little bit of some roll at Texas Roadhouse last night. I think we are making some progress! I thought for sure he would keep resisting.
