Always catching up...

Days 160 - 179
While the cats away, the mice will try to become cats all by themselves without daddy noticing. That's how it goes...right?
 Flying expedition

Favorite book. He's my book lover.

On our way to Vegas we blew a tire, ate a sit down dinner in Kingman while they attached new tires and then we were on our way.

We stayed at circus circus. You can tell she was thrilled. :) No, really, they loved it. Especially the little shows. We were bummed we got in so late and missed so much. Maybe next time.

In my cousin's back yard there are chickens. And not just any chickens, the ones with the crazy Einstein hair.  It's name wasn't Einstein though, it was Ice cream cone.

Learning the tricks of the trade from the master...

Dinosaurs can be found in Utah. It's true.

New best friend. They got to pick out a prize for being so good on the drive up. The drive back was a different story. A messy kind of upchuck and screaming story.

We rode the gondola 9 times that day. By my calculations we were on it for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Not all at once but basically. The guy at the top finally asked us how many times we had been on, on our last tour.

We found some cousins at the park to listen to the band with. Yay cousins!

Apple throwing, it's a skill...

Looking for things...

My cousin gifted us some new costumes! They have been in use since the moment we got home and some, as you have seen way before...

Kitty cat princess.

My husband tricked him into trying his salmon. He is not a fan. Bats don't like salmon apparently.

Went to a concert...

Date night for them, dress up with even more people for us. :)

Helping daddy with the yard work. Oops, I mean, "helping".

Darth does not approve of this meal. :(

Doctor Who. I found him two suit coats at the thrift store for $4 a piece! I know! Some people (my husband) think it is crazy to be preparing for Halloween in June. It's not crazy at all! Plus, look how happy he is.

The other coat. Bonus, I don't have to tell him he can't dress up as someone for church. Score! I love that moonpie joined in. This is probably the longest any sort of tie has stayed on this child and the most dapper he has looked for the duration of church in a long time. Score one for the doctor.

The sonic toothbrush, er, I mean screwdriver...

Toying with the idea of taking a break from facebook. Maybe my break will just be spending less time there. It's going to be hard because I love my friends and sometimes being a stay at home mom can be a bit lonely. The last month or so I have been loving my friends less, and it is because of facebook.  The plan is to take a break and actually connect with my friends in real life. Gasp! I know! Because I don't want them to become only a political rant, or a multilevel marketing product and that's kind of what happens on facebook. We become the sum of our posts. When your day to day "interactions" (and I use that word generously) are passively reading a few words and hitting like or getting upset that's no way to live. We forget that we are people I think. Relationships have become disposable. Isn't that sad? You don't agree with me, click, and done. It's because we become so flat, so 2 dimensional. We can't see the common ground. We don't remember all of the reasons we love someone when all we are seeing are angry political rants or links to words someone else wrote day to day. And it's hard, the few times I have opened up on facebook and been really real, someone has called me out and told me I was wrong to feel that way, or I shouldn't share that there. Mixed messages, that facebook. Be you, be authentic but only so long as I agree with what you say. Any one who knows me, knows I despise small talk. Facebook is small talk. Small talk and all of those topics you are told polite people do not to discuss with people in public rolled into one. Gives me whiplash.  So, I am going to try to keep up with my photography project. I am going to try to interact with people in real life. (what?!?) I will disagree with people eye to eye and hope that they can see the love I have for them even while having that disagreement,  I am going to try to blog in a timely fashion. I will still be posting my pics on instagram user name Kellykubellyboo. I am going to be mulling over what I wish facebook was and then try to be the change. Sounds mystical and wise when I say that. "Be the change you want to see." It's better if  you imagine James Earl Jones saying it. Try it. Makes it like a million times more mystical. His voice is so cool. Anyway...

Great things have been happening with my scripture study journal. I recommend it to anyone. It's been unreal how much more worthwhile my meager time spent in the scriptures has become. Really phenomenal. Try it, do it, ask me about it if you want to, I am not shy and I will probably need someone to talk to. More time for that would be a great thing.

Cleaning out my garage...that might happen. You don't know, it could, okay?

So if I seem absent and gone and kind of not present, it's because I am busy being present. I'm an enigma like that.
Also, I have grave concerns about tech neck. That's a thing.

Dressing up...

Days 152 - 159
This was the least awkward picture of the day. He doesn't believe me that cowboys wore their chaps OVER their pants. He thinks they are just pants...
 Iridescent flower cup
"She finally mopped the floors, time to puke by the door."
-My dog
 Bucket headed monster boy
Just enjoy the show. Happening at least weekly.
The cousins left today, but we had some time and some bubbles before they moved away. They will be missed.
And somedays all you can do is lock yourself in the bathroom, Lay in your tub and try to convince yourself motherhood is not futile.
He is Doctor Who.
Cracks me up. Love these kiddos.

Trying to keep up with the blogging of things...

Day 146-151
Uggg, it had been one of those days with this guy. This is right after he got done screaming, "I no like food!" at the tippy top of his lungs.
I got this beautiful canvas in the mail. I love it so much.
Then this one decided to give me fits. The house is a disaster and I think if one more kid comes down with a fever I may just die.
Cat in the yellow bucket hat. We paint our faces almost daily these days.
Tug O' war at the science center.
It was comic con downtown. The boy was in heaven. He saw so many celebrities he could hardly stand it. Mario and Luigi being a favorite. So many dressed up people milling around. I felt real bad for the guy in a full on Chewbaca suit. He had the head off but still. It was hot. Also there was a lady dressed up like the lizard lady in Doctor who. full face lizard in a full length period gown with bustle and all. I would have tried to get a picture but it was hot and that lady needed to get inside. Her lizard might have melted off.
Finding some shade on this hot hot day in May.

Catching up...

Day : 138 - 145
He just loves it up there.
The best part of a cat in the hat show is meeting the actor afterwards. He loves to hear that you loved his performance. ;)
 Big shoes to fill.
 Going to school.
 Oh to be free.
When playing Mario Bros. you need to know how to jump.
 In his happy place.
The task at hand: Climb the tree. He did it all by himself!
Face painting and a BBQ.

Week long sickness...

Day 130 - 137

Mother's day, I wanted a pic with all my kids but I could only catch this little monster.
Round 2 or 3 or maybe 4 of nasal doom. Heaven help us.
 The red nose.
There is a ukulele photo contest and I tried out my remote control app on my phone.
Grandma saved this little bird. A Bohemian waxwing. We took him to a shelter to get help and hopefully released back into the wild.
After a day of rain, a sky full of white clouds.
Everybody is sick! The sick bed.
