Parade of Lights

Peyton bundled up like she's waiting for a blizzard--really was 50 degrees out, but she really wanted to wear her scarf--didn't last on too long!

Fireworks!

One of my favorites- snow globe

Not a great picture but they had many hot air balloon baskets shooting the flames up--neat although Jackson covered his face whenever they came by!

Best use of lights in my opinion- Catfish Bay water skiers

Firetruck- one of Jack's favorites

Jack and I

The Friday after Thanksgiving my mom and I went Black Friday shopping and then Jason brought the kids up on his way to work so we could bring them to the Parade of Lights.  I've been wanting to take the kids to this for awhile now..last night was the perfect night- 50 some degrees and beautiful out!  Its was really neat and they even had fireworks during the parade (it was an anniversary of the parade), which we thought was neat, but a little over stimulation :-)  I didn't get the best pictures b/c we were so close...but the kids and my mom and I had a great time!

What Jackson is thankful for

Happy Thanksgiving!

What Peyton is thankful for

Thanksgiving has already come and gone in a whirlwind.  We are thankful to spend it with our family and are thankful for the beautiful weather we had..hoping it stays around for awhile.  Here are our thankful turkeys I've tried to make with the kids every year now ...but may have skipped a year in there.

Ready for winter in South Dakota!!

3 years old!
So my little man Jackson turned 3 on the 15th of November.  Its hard to believe he's three already which means we've been back in South Dakota for 3 years now too...also hard to believe. Jackson is a sweet boy who loves to ride his bike, play at the farm, play with his tractors, trains and cars- pretty much a typical boy.  At this point I'd say he's a mama's boy but definitely loves a good adventure with his dad.  We are finally getting him potty trained...which has been a long road, but he's got it down pretty good now.  We just found out he'll be going to preschool two mornings a week starting next week b/c he needs speech therapy, seems crazy to us and he seems too little but I know he'll love it.  He talks a lot but doesn't not talk very clearly and is behind for his age so this time they tested him he qualified which will be great to help him get back on track.  Oh and did I mention he LOVES his big sister, he copies everything she does and loves to play and just be with her all the time.  He is a funny kid and is so much fun to have in our family!

7 yrs old!

1st time bowling

Maddie, Pey, Ella

Finally score---b-day girl 2nd place!

Hard to believe Pey is 7!  Seems like just yesterday she born....time sure does fly.  This year she decided to go bumper bowling, so we just invited a couple friends.  They had a great time bowling and stopping for pizza, despite the usual girl drama :-)

Pey seems to be growing up fast, too fast.  She is actually missing 6 , yes 6 teeth right now so she has a pretty funny smile!  She is still our spirited little girl that she always has been and does tend to be a bit dramatic at times but also has a big heart.  She loves her brother and really loves to play with him and lately is getting into teaching him.  She loves spending time w/ her friends and her family.  She continues to be a cowgirl at heart and dreams of owning her own horse, everything she does is about horses...she loves to go to my parents farm and climb on the hay bales and wander around the farm.  She is a great help around here and has fun doing most anything she does.  She loves to learn and read and can even be found reading while brushing her teeth.  She is definitely a social butterfly and is not shy at all...she is our cowgirl princess and is loved so much by us!  We can't wait to see how God continues to grow her into a beautiful young lady...but not too fast!!

Homecoming 2011

 Costume Day- Dr. Peyton

Red Hats on the Loose- Grandma Dee and Donna

 Hippie Peyton

We had a fun Homecoming week!

Fall is here

Just a few random pictures from this fall.  We went to a SDSU game w/ our whole family above is a picture of my parents w/ the grandkids.  Peyton is my little book worm and will read a book anywhere (brushing her teeth, outside, getting ready for school...you get the point she loves to read)  Jackson got his first two wheeler Strider bike...its a balance bike (as you may notice there aren't any pedals ) and is supposed to easily transition him to a regular bike w/o training wheels.  We'll see but he can go really fast on it, balance on it and go quite a long ways on it so it's pretty neat!  Grandpa Mike built the kids a sandbox just in time to get some use out of it before winter.  The kids (and neighbor kids) are getting great use out of  it so far and we've been lucky to have a nice fall!
