First and Last Days of School

They sure do a lot of changing during the school year!

C had a fantastic time in pre-k at the YMCA. She learned how to write her whole alphabet, upper and lowercase, and has even started sounding out words. She loved swimming and playing with her friends.
K grew leaps and bounds in his reading, now reading above his grade level. He lost 4 (??) teeth during the school year and his favorite subjects were art and PE.

Preschool Graduation

These cute little girls had a great time in preschool this year! I can't believe how much they grew and of course how fast it went!
Ms. Brandie
Ms. Jacqueline
Ms. Lisa
L loved watching the program!

Lake Moreau Fieldtrip

One of the very fun YMCA field trips we got to participate in this year was a trip to a local lake to stock it with fish.

I always say it, but it was so great that siblings were welcome to attend and participate.
The picture below definitely sums up C's feelings about the fish.

It was such a treat that Matt was able to come on this field trip!

YMCA field trip to the nursery

C's class went on a fun trip to a local nursery at the end of March. It almost felt like spring as we were enjoying all of the beautiful flowers inside the warm green houses.

After the tour they got to plant their own flower, which is still blooming strong today!

Grandma & Grandpa Visit

We had a FANTASTIC visit from Grandma and Grandpa in April! We were so luck to have the for 3 whole weeks!! And we sure kept them busy!
We decorated Easter eggs.

Our brand new cousin/niece that we hadn't met yet was "passing through" the Rochester, NY area so we couldn't miss out on meeting her and seeing some other fun family members too.
While we were there we visited the Palmyra area. We went to the building where the Book of Mormon was originally printed.

To the Smith Family farm and Sacred Grove.

The Palmyra temple.

Unfortunately it was Matt's busy week, so he didn't get to come with us.
General Conference fell on Easter so we had a relaxing Easter at home watching the Prophet.
There was a very fun, fish stocking event at the State Park. Grandpa had fun with all the fishing stuff and talking to the fishing guys around. Here he was tying a fly with L.
One of our two fish we got to release into the stream.

We took them to the NY State museum in Albany. L was thrilled by the "fire wee-ooo-wee-ooo's."

When Grandma and Grandpa got to town it was still winter and there was still snow on the ground. But Spring arrived when they were here! The snow was gone by their second week and we got a little warmth and sun!
K had been asking Grandpa to teach him how to fish so Grandpa bought him a pole and some worms and we found a nearby fishing hole!

I think they were both in heaven.
C wanted a pink fishing pole but Grandpa said fish don't bite pink fishing poles... But I don't think he has actually ever tried. :-)
We enjoyed Ben & Jerry's free ice cream cone day.
Grandpa likes to have a project when he is here and we are more than happy to provide one! It started that he was just going to paint the downstairs bathroom, but we ended up redoing most of it, and he did a FANTASTIC job! I love it now!

Thanks for coming G&G! We love you and can't wait for your next visit!
