Happy New Year!

This year, instead of our usual 'noon years' celebration, our neighborhood had a little mini block party...we counted down to 7 and played around outside for a few hours, snacking and hanging out with our friends.  the kids had a blast!

Holding New Puppies

We are back from a 2-week vacay, in which time stopped and internet and cell phones did not really exist.  I loved it.  I had no concept of time, or what day it was, and it was fabulous to be with my family, minus 1 sister, and just BE.  So I surprisingly didn't take many pictures, but I did take a few, and I'll upload them later, but one of the fun things we got to do was to hold some 3 week old puppies that my sister-in-laws friend just had...they were adorable and both of my kids could not get enough!

and just so we're all clear, i do not want a puppy. :)

Disneyland!

We were so lucky to get to go to Disneyland today with our friends!
{We haven't been in 2 years??}
Our new neighbor's (Michelle) daughter Paige is doing an internship at Disneyland (lucky girl) and offered to take our family and Jillonnie's family to Dland today...AND her sisters, Hannah and Morgan, came with us so we got free parking AND HELP!  oh my it was THE BEST!
I don't think I sat with MY kids on a ride the whole time...Ivy went with either Shelby or one of the big girls, and Max got a new buddy every time
 Jungle Cruise with Hannah
The Nightmare Before Christmas...I was shootin' in the dark, but here are all 87 of us...minus, me, June and Morgan
 Cute Hannah and Max
 Jack :)
They love the Carousel!  Max and Ivy's fav...of all the rides...they MUST visit the carousel!

The famous Sword...hate to tell you, none of these kids are bound to be royalty...dang!

teacups!  so glad I could sit this one out...seriously, Morgan and Hannah are AWESOME!
Love Max and River's faces with Hannah spinning them like cuh=razy!
One happy girl on Small World with a chocolate pudding mustache and so many things to look at she couldn't stop grinning!
We had such a great day!  Thanks, Smiths for inviting us to come!!!

surf city pier lighting and parade

I love downtown HB...they close the street off twice a week for a farmers market/street fair, and a couple of times a year, they hold little small town parades.  We live close enough to walk or ride bikes and it's so fun!  Yesterday was the annual lighting of the HB pier and the parade.  They have some of our favs:
The turquoise woody...love that car!
and Ivy's future car...haha, rad!
Sparky the fire dog
and Surf Santa and Mrs. Claus:

Then we have to wait a while for it to get dark enough for them to light up the pier...pretty, huh!?
Luckily we had our besties to wait with: Max, Shelby and River(in the back) and Ivy and June (in the front)
We even said howdy to Mr and Mrs Claus.
Max had a book to talk to Santa about...Ivy just told Mrs Claus she wanted lipstick.  (awesome easy!)
we love hb!

somebody got a hair cut!

Our Thanksgiving in Arizona

We had such a fun week in Arizona!  We had Grandma's undivided attention, and great food and fun family to play with while we were there!  Here are a few of my favorite moments from Arizona
Grandma took us to the zoo...Max and I used to go to the zoo weekly when we lived in AZ...but Ivy had never been to the PHX zoo...and now they have sting rays!  so fun...that was one of my favorite parts!

...and Max's favorite parts, I'm sure!
It was also really fun to have daddy all to ourselves for the week.

oh. we saw other things beside the sting-rays...we even rode the tram (which I have never done) but it's a good thing, because the Pregnant lady was DONE FOR by the end of the day.  wow, I'm soooo out of shape!
Grandma and Grandpa filled in their pool with dirt and they haven't planted grass yet!  There yard is HUGE now...it was before, but without that pool and the fence right there, it's ginormous...and full of dirt, and free range from Grandma to rake, dig and collect rocks to their hearts content (and to ride the pink car around in.)  Grandma paid Max and Ivy 1 penny/rock to collect rocks for her (that kept them occupied while we were trying to cook!)  Max made $5.00   (haha, that's awesome)!
One day, I think I was sewing in the back room, and Max ran in hollering about something gone awry with Ivy, and using mommy and daddy soap.  Apparently, she decided that she was big enough to start a bath for herself...she found some toys, ran the bath, took off her clothes, and rubbed bar soap all over her body...what a freak!  It was in the middle of the day, mind you.  :)  Just let it happen, I guess!
Here's us trying to take a Turkey Day picture...ha!
 Ivy enjoyed picking Grandma's flowers...

while Max got every tool he could think of and stuffed it in his pockets.
We had such a great time!
And then, we decided to leave on Friday to avoid massive holiday traffic, and take our time on our way (we never do that)
So, we stopped at the robotic dinosaur museum in Cabazon...we've been wanting to stop there for forever, but just hadn't yet.  ummmm...probably won't do it again!  BUT, the kids liked it.

 oh, aren't they cute!
 eek, i love those two!

Hope you had a fun Thanksgiving Break, too!
