Another lake trip

George was nice enough to take us out on a trip to the lake. We brought a picnic and had a great time. Trevor didn't really enjoy the ride on the boat (he gets nervous in elevators and escalators).

Bella LOVED the water. She jumped right it. She loves swimming this summer and she was more comfortable in the water than her mama. (I like to be able to see through the water I'm swimming in.) Thanks Uncle George for a great evening.

4th of July

For the 4th of July we just stayed home and enjoyed the heat. Er, I mean.... we tried to stay cool on the sweltering birthday of our great nation.
We went to the church for a patriotic breakfast and Primary Parade. Bella and Trevor were so excited to ride their bikes around.

Then we got ready for water games because by 8:00 it was over 100 degrees.

The water games were fun to watch and of course the whole thing erupted into a ward-water-fight. Unfortunately, I wore a white shirt that day, trying to be patriotic and therefore withdrew myself from the water activities. I might just have to try that again next year. Hmmm....

Playing Games

Family trip to watch the Diamondback's game. I guess we have to do some things that Daddy likes.

I honestly don't remember who they played, or whether they won or lost... But we had lots of hot dogs and cotton candy and soda. What else is there to do at a baseball game...?

Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day I started a new tradition. Bella and I got pedicures and she got her nails painted. We had such a great time and it was great to spend that special time with my special daughter.

Catch Up

So I thought I would do better at blogging since I have all this time on my hands.... but I seem to fill the time with everything but blogging. And I thought I was doing good about taking pictures but the only pictures I have are of the kids sleeping. We are going, going, going this summer so the kids just fall asleep where they fall.

productive week

For the last 3 months, I have been working in an office. For about 9 years before I had Bella, I worked in an office. I like working in an office. I enjoy the "corporate life." One of my career goals was to become president of SRP (my former employer). Another of my career goals was to own a business. And I can check that one off the list. I own my own business with my husband, Jeff, and this year we both put in equal amounts of work into that business. (well....)

So, now that tax season is over, I have retired for the year. That's the great thing about owning your own business - you can work when you want!

One of the things that I enjoy or appreciate about working in an office is the sense of accomplishment and productivity. Sometimes, when I'm home with my kids I feel like I get nothing done even though I've done the dishes three times or changed several diapers or gotten 3 people bathed and ready for the day or made three meals or vacuumed three times.

Now that I'm not in the office any more, I still crave that sense of accomplishment or productivity. So, this week I was VERY busy. We had dinner plans 3 of the six nights, I actually got to pick up Bella from preschool and have a friend come over and play, I went to the grocery store (no, really). I also painted my downstairs hall bathroom. We are living in a new home now and the walls are white..... not my fav. That was a lot of fun.

I also got to catch up with some friends that have been patiently waiting my retirement. Thank you friends for still being here and being so understanding. And the thing that I feel the most sense of accomplishment for - I made strawberry jam for the first time. Real strawberry jam, and I canned it myself, with a waterbath and everything! I'm pretty impressed with myself (if you can't tell). It took me WAY longer than it should have, but I did it! So, the moral of the post is although I enjoyed meeting with clients and working outside the home, I am very happy and excited to be doing the most important job, and that's taking care of this: (Easter 2011)

alive & well

We are alive!! We're still here. We've had MANY changes in the last 6 months.

I don't think I'll recap it all, but things are good.

We just got back from a much needed family regroup session (otherwise known as "after tax-season vacation").

There was lots of fun and sun.

(I didn't even plan this outfit coordination. Love it!)

We have a couple of water babies. I'm so glad. We miss our Mexico retreats but we now have family in San Diego so that's our new vaca spot.

I have a goal of blogging regularly so we'll talk soon!
