Tourist Week

After Christmas in Utah we had another week off work and school so we brought Josh back to California with us to spend a week with us. We partied all week long!
Partying included:
-Eating at Pizza Chicago
-Touring Alcatraz
-Driving across the Golden Gate Bridge
-Taking a beautiful walk by the ocean only to find the rest of the path to the lighthouse was closed
- San Jose Tech Museum
-Eating amazing donuts at Pyscho Donuts!
-Christmas in the Park Ice Skating
-The boys went to Jiu Jitsu one night
-New Years Eve celebrated with a game of minute-to-win-it! Champion......Jeff!!!
-Bop-it competitions

It was amazing that it was a clear day and I was able to get better pictures than the last time I was at the bridge.

Near the Point Bonita Lighthouse (we didn't make it all the way)
The door to the tunnel that continued the path to the lighthouse was locked. We missed it by an hour, but we did find "The Hatch" *picture below (if you are confused, then you must not be a "Lost" fan)

The tour of Alcatraz of incredible. We did the headset tour where you wear a headset and a recorded tour guide guides you around the prison and actually prisoners and guards from that prison tell stories of what it was actually like to live on the island. We also listened to a Ranger tell stories of the different attempts to escape the island. It was thoroughly entertained. My only complaint was that I wish I had worn more layers because it was freezing on that island!

*Warning, creepy picture below. :)

This is how a few attempted to escape. They made fake faces to put in their bed. Crazy! It almost worked except it was a little hard to swim in freezing water all the way to the main land.

One of the cell blocks

The ferry boat ride over was pretty fun too.

View of San Francisco from the ferry.

Christmas in Utah

The past few Christmas' in Utah I have wanted a real white Christmas. Not just a little snow that melts and turns to ugly brown slush, but a good foot or more of snow. Since that last few Christmas' in Utah have always been disappointing as far as the snow goes I wasn't expecting anything. To my surprise I woke up one morning and saw only white outside. I was so excited. It was fun to watch the Austin play with Rhona out in the snow. Rhona absolutely LOVED the snow. This video shows that pretty well.

We were able to everyone during our trip which was great. We stopped at Jennifer's on the way and stayed a day to visit and then everyone else was at my mom's house at one point or another during our stay. It was so great to be able to visit and catch up with everyone.

We enjoyed the snow, a traditional candlelight dinner with a live nativity and a drive through the Spanish Fork lights. We actually had two Christmas Eve candlelight dinners which was double the fun! Christmas day was fun. I love the picture Jeff took of everyone from the top of the stairs looking down on the excitement. Oh, and Rhona even had a friend to play with that wasn't scared of her. (My mom's two little dogs are scared of Rhona) Jenna and Steve's dog Weston loved playing with Rhona. You can see Weston in the last picture sitting on top of the couch. All in all it was a fabulous white Christmas!
