The Spaulding Way

This is your favorite position to fall asleep in. My favorite thing is how you always hold onto my shirt when I am holding you and especially when you are tired and trying to fall asleep. I love it!

We ventured out to Church for the first time with CJ. We have the BEST ward!! They have been the most welcoming and kind. I feel like I already have friends and people I can call up. I went to a Relief Society activity last week and they were all passing CJ around and offering to hold him while I ate and it was so nice to get a break for a little since Jeff hasn't been getting home from work until 9 or 10 or even 11 at night. (hopefully this won't last long, although it is good since we need the money). We live right across the street from the church which is also a huge plus! I don't ever want to move, well, okay I will want a house one day, but for now it is perfect. CJ was great at church and I look forward to church every week more than ever. I think that's because I get to talk to adults for a day, but regardless, I love going to church. (not that I didn't before, it is just different now, good different). I also look forward to our family Sunday walks. We have the best neighborhood for walks. It is beautiful and there is also a beautiful path that goes around the whole housing development that makes you feel like you are miles away from the city and in the middle of a gorgeous forest, filled with birds. All in all I love where we live! Too bad all of you can't be here with me though.

Mamaw came and visited for a week the beginning of May and she can come back anytime. We love our Mamaw.

 My little boy is already one month old! (As of May 3rd) He grows everyday and it is so much fun to see. I sit and stare at him and I could do it all day. It has been a great month. We have had our minor ups and downs but for the most part CJ has been a calm baby. He eats, sleeps, poops and pees great, just as he should. He knows who is mama is and who his daddy is. He will stop fussing when I pick him up and talk to him. he turns his head toward me or Jeff when we are talking and has even smiled a few times when I have been talking to him or singing to him.
Some of my favorite songs to sing to Christopher are:

"Oh Christopher" This one I randomly came up with one day to the tune of "Oh Christmas Tree" and we sing it everyday. (Oh Christopher, Oh Christopher, how lovely are your toesies. Oh Christopher, Oh Christopher, how lovely are your toesies. I love you from the top of your head, all the way down to your toes. Oh Christopher, Oh Christopher, how lovely are your toesies.)

I think everything he does is so cute. I know this won't last long, so I am enjoying it now.

Bath Time! He didn't like the first few sponge baths. But now that I can fill his little bathtub up with water and he can stay warm, he likes them now.

Best Buddies!

First trip to the doctor. He was born at 8.1 lbs. Left the hospital at 7 lbs 12 oz. and at his doctor's appointment one 4 days after he was born was back to 8.1 lbs. The doctor said everything looked great and he was a healthy little boy! We were so glad!

Monkey Face

Big Yawn! This is our morning time together. He is most awake in the morning for a good hour or so. I love this special time he and I have together to talk and make funny faces (as you can see from the picture above this one).

I found my thumb!! He did indeed find his thumb one day all on his own. He sucked on it for a minute or so and then it hasn't happened again since. He has loved his pacifier which is fine, I prefer it.

Helping daddy with the laundry. He looks so tiny in his daddy's lap. Notice Rhona in the picture, a reoccurring theme. She definitely has been a little jealous of daddy's attention to CJ. She is her daddy's girl and misses his attention.

Grammie Debbie and CJ. Grammie Debbie came to visit for a few days and we had a great time.

CJ's first stroller ride. We hadn't gotten a big stroller yet so we made due with this little one. He looks a little funny all snuggled in there, but he liked it. I look forward to our weekly Sunday walks as a family.
