October was a good month. We started the month with a wonderful trip to the temple. Jeff and I hadn't been in a VERY long time because in VA Beach the nearest temple was four hours away and then life got pretty crazy when we moved. It was SO wonderful to go back. The peace it fills you with is amazing. I had been applying for a job in the school district as a sub or part time para educator, aka teacher's aid, over the previous months. On our drive home from the temple I got a call for an interview for three different positions within the school district! The blessings of keeping your covenants and doing the Lord's work in the temple are real. I interviewed and got a part time job as a para educator in a 4-5th grade special education classroom. The schedule works perfectly with our life and I am really enjoying it. The adjustment was very difficult for CJ. He usually only wants his "blanket" at night but for the three weeks following the change when I started working he NEVER let go of his blanket. It was glued to him and was definitely a security blanket for him during this change. He was so needy and whiny but after a month or so has adjusted well and enjoys the time he gets to spend at Mamaw's and Aunt Jennie's.

Preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch. First they fed the sheep and goats. CJ loved it!
Trying to get a picture of ten tired and hot 3 year olds is quite the task.
My little pumpkin, well not so little. He is the tallest in his class.
We bought a membership to the SF Zoo earlier in the year and have really enjoyed it! CJ finally got to ride the train at the zoo and he was thrilled about it!

Jeff's chiropractic career continues to grow and he is really loving his profession. He volunteered for one of the high school football teams in town and loves going out to the games to be the team doctor. The Tracy Press caught this great picture of him one Friday night game.
HALLOWEEN

| Here is CJ marching very enthusiastically in his preschool Halloween parade. He refused to wear his costume to preschool. I think it
made him anxious/embarrassed to wear his costume to a place with so many
people/friends. He had a great day doing Halloween activities at school
and loved the parade though. | |

Ever since CJ saw a plastic pumpkin at the store early in October and remembered that is what he put candy in last year, he has been so excited for Halloween. Anything about Halloween got him excited. He loved talking about spooky ghosts and spiders and jack-o-lanterns. It was really fun! I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween and he wasn't sure what I meant. It took a little explaining for him to get into the idea of dressing up. One day when I asked him what he wanted to dress up like he said, "a pink bunny" pretty sure he must have gotten the idea from his cousin Clara who talks about pink every other sentence. :) So I took him to the store to get some ideas and he decided on Chase from his favorite TV show Paw Patrol. He didn't want to put it on for awhile. When I told him he had to wear to go to a Halloween party he shyly put it on and we went to the neighborhood parade and movie night in the park. It was a great trial run and now I knew he would actually wear it. When Halloween night came along he was more than happy to put on his costume to fill up his pumpkin with candy. He loved trick-or-treating. After about 20 minutes he was done. He was too tired to walk and asked to go back home. I was totally fine with that. We went back home and sat on the porch and handed out candy. CJ ate five pieces of candy and suddenly had lots of energy again. He loved handing out candy to all the trick-or-treaters! I think he liked it more than trick-or-treating him self! It was a perfect night. The weather was absolutely perfect too.
