She's on the move...

...so much so, that as soon as I put her down after her bath, she crawls out of her town and makes a run for it. Here she is, caught in the act.

BTW...Omar is nearly throwing a hissy fit just for posting this picture. You should know that there are some better, unpublished pictures of the cutest tooshie I have EVER seen. Tell him to chill out.

Six Month Doctor Visit.

Sadie is a haas now. Well, sort of. She's finally made her way out of the 25-30th percentiles and is exactly average.

Height=26.2"=55th percentile
Weight=15lbs 15oz=50th percentile
Head=16.5"=30th percentile

So her head is a bit small. But at least she doesn't look like she's gonna tip over at any moment due to the typical ginormous baby head.

Anyhow...she was great for the doctor. All was going well. Sadie happily played on the bench, eating the protective paper. Not a care in the world. Then. Out of nowhere. Two horribly painful shots. One in each leg. There was no option but so scream in agony. Even the nurse was taken aback. She described it as something out of a horror movie. Great.

But all is well now. I naturally had to get a Starbucks drink to cope with her pain. And Sadie is taking an extended nap.
Notice the two Band-Aids

Here are a few more images of the last couple weeks...

Thug Sadie...
Before an early morning trip to the Farmer's Market.

Yeah...she can fly. No biggie.

Omar and Sadie watering the flowers and veggies.

Family picture before they all left. Notice Ramsey is in the picture as well.

We hosted a massive dinner with Omar's family, an Iraqi refugee family, Sala (who owns the delicious Petra Cafe), our neighbors, and Leslie. Ikbal took over the cooking and now we have enough left overs to last a few months. It was de`li`cious.

There were about 20 of us.

Another cute picture of Sadie and her Jedu.

SIX MONTHS OLD. I know.

Seriously. Six months. Already. And now she has decided it's about time to crawl. I have to say that it is perfect timing since Omar's parents are here, along with two cousins visiting from Scotland. To celebrate, I had to bake a cake, naturally (although Tara was responsible for the actual baking part...and she didn't burn the house down).

She shimmied-crawled from the pink blanket to her Jedu. He happily encouraged her with his fancy watch that no one else is allowed to even look at.
He let her drool all over it.

Fail.

With her Jedu.

Tara and Omar, after he taught her to grill...sort of.

They're a bit competitive. Just a little.

Sweet potatoes and oatmeal. Yum.

Sadie went swimming for the first time. It didn't go so well. The water had cooled from a storm the day before and the poor thing just cried as I tried to get her used to the water.

Luckily, she was still super cute in her bikini and matching hat.

And everyone needs their share of some Sadie goodness. This is Ikbal, Tara's mom and Omar's cousin.

With Bebe.

With her own stinkin' cuteness.

Yet more pictures of River. I can't stop myself.

I miss my little niece so much. It's just wrong that we are so far apart. Anyhow, click HERE for a link to more pictures of River, Allie, and Noah. River just keeps getting prettier and prettier.

Here are a few highlights from the album.

She's Here!

My little sister is now the proud mother of River Laylee Maxner, born at 3:26am. She weighs 6lbs 15oz and is approximately 19 1/4 inches. Allie was in hard labor for only 4 hours and did some serious pushing for just 30 minutes. She was a champ.

Scenes from the farm.

So this is Allie at her doctor appointment on Monday. Yes, she's eating sushi (don't worry, it's cooked). This is not out of character for my special sister.

Sunset at Menemsha Beach. Despite the bitterly cold wind, we also enjoyed a bluegrass band playing on the dock.

The Maxner land is beautiful. Noah's mother has done a wonderful job creating a huge flower garden as well as a pretty impressive vegetable garden. In many ways, it is self sustainable, which I really appreciate. There are a lot of pictures here, but I couldn't decide with ones to not post. And trust me, there are maaaaany more that I did not. So hard.

The house dogs.
Bubba.

Lion.

Cooper.

The outdoor drying rack.

The chicken coop.

There are four goats on the farm. The two adults are milked daily. Here is one of the babies.

Noah enjoying the back porch.

The penned in garden.

Joyce (Noah's mom), picking sweet peas.

Herbs.

Allie digging a hole. They will plant a Japanese Maple Tree along with the placenta.

There's still no baby. I'll update the blog when she finally makes her way out to meet us. Be sure to check out the pictures on the blog below if you have yet to do so. Hope you've had a great day!
