Valentine's Day

Sadie has no idea what Valentine's Day is, but I at least managed to dress her in red. She did love the Valentine's Day "red balloon" daddy bought for her (aka, was suckered into when she saw them at the grocery with him).

She is too cute for words.

I finally managed to put the double stroller together since it is getting so nice out now. Sadie broke it in by spitting some milk in the cup holder and then strapped her baby doll in.

And then licked the "window."

Our girl loves her baths.

And her thumb!

I am Pioneer Woman...ish.

Well ok. Not really. (For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, Pioneer Woman one of the renaissance women who does it all: parenting, farming, cooking, photography, etc. and has a famous website (http://thepioneerwoman.com) to document it all.) I had an extra tube of biscuits and made my own version of her monkey muffins while snowed in.

Biscuits, butter, cinnamon, white and brown sugar...

Baked and drizzled with sweetened condensed milk...

...and possibly all eaten in one day with very little help from the husband.

Still more snow day pictures...

...because we have had so many of them. And I still have more pictures to post from all this time home.

We have had some good fun passing the time though. These pictures are from the snow before last (since we've had three snow storms three weeks in a row...sheesh).

She's getting to the age where we can bake together. She did so great!
(And that apron is sooo stiff and unflattering on me. But Sadie's is soooo cute.)

Classic Sadie.

Walking with authority through the disaster zone she created.

She's a daddy's girl if I've eve seen one.

Blizzard of "011

This morning we woke up (aka, I woke up to feed Norah while daddy was still in bed), attempted to let Beau out to potty, and found this.

Now we were expecting snow. About 7-10 inches of it. Turns out we got a blizzard instead. Since about 4am, we've gotten approximately 17inches...with a steady light snow remaining. At least it's a pretty, fluffy snow.

The snow is now a couple inches higher than when this picture was taken. If you look at the fence, the snow is higher than the first cross rail.

My poor bird bath out front.
I tried to capture the snow drifts on our roof. Look closely and you can see how high it is.

Checking out the crazy photographer in the snow.

Hooray, Snow Day.

Omar digging a path to the neighbor's house...since that's about as far out as we're gonna get. Omar shoveled the driveway to run to the gas station/red box, but the truck still couldn't get down the street.

Looking out our front door a few hours ago.

After Omar shoveled a path out.

We've had a thrilling morning including pancakes (which Sadie loves since we give in and let her have maple syrup with them), legos, and blocks. We shall see what the afternoon holds...and probably tomorrow since I don't see school being open.

Is this winter crazy or what?

Theif

Sadie adopted Mr. Monkey from Norah's play mat. I don't know why, but she asks for "Sadie monkey" and steals it off almost every time Norah plays. During one such thievery moment, she decided to give Sadie Monkey a rock in her new chair.

He appreciated it.

Then he got eaten.

Luckily Jack came over to play and was much nicer to the little fox.

And thank goodness he lives next door. Since we've been stuck here in the house, it has been such a relief to have friends who live next door. We have had lots of play dates to get out our houses as well as a good game night. It helps to keep one's sanity when you see other adults.

How I hug thee...let me count the ways...

Yes...that is a baby under her. And no, she does not have any pants on.

No baby under there this time. Just silliness.

And the silliness continues...

And the survivor of all Sadie's love...
