Merry Christmas!!!

This year we got to spend Christmas in Dallas! The girls are loving their time with BeBe, Jedu and Uncle Ramsey...and all the fun presents they opened this morning don't hurt either! We can always count on BeBe to stock them up on some great-quality, long-lasting toys. Thank you!

Omar and I have been very intentional this Christmas season to spend lots of time reading, talking about, and watching stories about Jesus' birth. It makes my heart happy to hear Sadie talk about our big Christmas dinner as meal to celebrate baby Jesus. Love her sweet little heart. We have yet to address the whole Santa thing. Ask us again next year, but this year, Santa is nothing more than another character to Sadie. Santa might as well be Mickey or Winnie the Pooh. Thankfully, she doesn't ask any questions...yet.

Perhaps one of the best gifts we've received this Christmas in Dallas, are the dark rooms the girls sleep in. Let me tell you, these girls are sleeping in...till like 8:30 or later. And Sadie is sleeping in a big girl bed and just comes to jump in bed with us when she wakes. It's sooooo so nice!

I hope your Christmas day has been filled with love, family, good food and gratefulness that Jesus came entered this world as a baby to bring Salvation to us all!

Hidden Playtime!

Lately, we've taken to clearing everything out and playing in the cabinets under the TV.

Norah is TWO!!!

Can you believe our sweet Norah girl is two-years-old today? It's so hard to believe, but we sure do love this little girl. We threw a little party for her on Saturday and she had a blast. We are so grateful for our friends who came out to celebrate our 'big' girl!
This girly girl was so excited to wear her 'spin' party dress.
And of course, Sadie had a pre-party spin-off with her sister.
Jedu and BeBe got to come up and join us for the party! Norah is giving him a quick doctor check-up before the party as well!
No matter what I plan, somehow football always sticks its nose in our parties. So we threw the guys into the office to watch the Arkansas game on the little TV.
Sadie loved Norah's party...that is, until the end when she turned out to have a stomach bug. I'm praying we didn't pass it along to any of our little friends.
Seriously, could she be any cuter?!
This year the present opening wasn't too overwhelming. This girl got some fun gifts and some little Minnie and princess dolls. She is way more into the girly stuff than Sadie...
...she's been playing with them non-stop. Taking their clothes and shoes on and off and on and off. And sitting them up on the couch and such. So cute!
While Norah would have liked to blow out her candles, Sadie and Evie ended up getting to them first. Bet Norah will actually care next year.
Turns out I was at the party too :) Thankful our friend Heather was in town and captured some of these photos as well!
 I mean, seriously?
 Loving on BeBe!

Today was Norah's actual birthday and she woke up to a nice round of throw-up. Sadie passed the little bug to her, but she was over it by 10am. So we just enjoyed a low-key day around the house with the family! And Traci pointed out that two years ago, I was sitting in a hospital bed, hooked up to Pitocin, and throwing up as we waited for our sweet girl to enter the world. But it was totally worth it!

You know you're a pastor's kid when...

On one of Omar's bookshelves sits a miniature, wooden communion chalice and cup set from Jerusalem given to him by Granny. It's been sitting there for ages next to the olive wood sculpture of the Holy family that we also got in Jerusalem. Sadie discovered them for the first time this week.

Naturally...it was time for tea with the Holy Family!
Baby Jesus needs tea as well.

Booger...or should I say...

This kid has been a sneaky little thing lately.

Yesterday, I went to get her around 8am. There were no noises or whines coming from her room so I assumed she was still asleep. I walk into her room and the first thing I see are her pajamas...on the floor. And her diaper, hanging on her cold little body by a single tab. And a deviously proud smile on her face.

I went to get her after her nap later that day. Same song, different verse. And poo...all over her hands...and face...and bed...
I armed myself with my sternest voice and meanest face and said "no diaper" and "no hands" and so on and so forth. Evidenced by her smile, I clearly was not getting my point across. At a complete parenting loss, I growled at her. For real. I think she was more confused than anything. I then carried her at arms length straight to the bath.

Gross.

Grandparent visit #3!

In the last few weeks, we have been lucky enough to visit with all three sets of grandparents. Dad and Sally, aka Papawitz and Grammy, came to see us. It was a whirlwind of a visit and we fit plenty in! And thanks to my fabulous photographer of a step-mom, I got to be camera free for their visit! All photos compliments of Grammy! She captured several great photos of the girls too!
Another failed family photo on the swing at Terra Studios.
 Tea anyone?
Dad got them this super cute chair/umbrella set. The girls love it and play with it all the time.
I was inside making dinner and Sadie ran in asking for "daddy's phone so I can take a picture." She meant it.
 LOOOOVE this picture.
Dad was a total super hero! We did lots of repair work around the house and I cannot tell you just how much I appreciate it!!! For real!
 The extra help.
There may have been a bit too much joy-filled spinning...Norah may or may not have lost her cookies after this :)
 Awwwww....
Sally was super psyched to go to the Drive-Thru Safari. And this trip did not disappoint! Norah risked getting her hand eaten by a lion...
...for real!!!!! We all got to pet two baby lions!!!!!!
Oh my goodness...Oh my goodness...I was one seriously HAPPY girl! Another goal checked off my life to-do list! They were the sweetest, most cuddly things ever. And the purring. Oh the purring. I could go on...and on...
And once again, Norah showed no fear with the animals. Even jumped in the feed trough this time.
 Grammy!!!!!
We love you both!!! Can't wait till the next visit!
