Nesting

So this must be what they call "nesting". It's after midnight and I can't stop. I've cleaned the laundry room, kitchen, pantry, fridge, microwave, oven, and I still feel like I could go for hours.

I'm not, of course. The sane part of me is telling me I should go to bed and try to get what little sleep I can because in a few days it will no longer be an option. But I have to admit I do like this "nesting" feeling. It'd be nice if I could be this motivated all the time. Is it strange though that my nesting instinct the last few days has always kicked in at night? What's been your nesting experience?

And just for fun, here is a picture of us almost exactly 18 months ago. I'm so excited to see what's in store with this baby. It will be here this Wednesday, June 24th @ 9:30(ish) a.m.

It's a sad day when

you tell your husband your future brother-in-law will be staying the night and the coversation goes like this:

Chris: "So where will he be sleeping?"

Me: "On the couch."

Chris: "So where am I supposed to sleep?"

Sorry sweetie. I guess you'll just have to sleep with pregnant me!

Calling All Bread Recipe's

I am still having trouble with my bread-making and I've decided it must be my recipe. It cannot possibly be that I am that bad at making bread. :)

SO I want to try some new recipe's. Anyone willing to share their best bread recipe I'd love to try it! You can leave a comment or email it to me at jenn.shideler@gmail.com.

Some Call It Brave

Most would call it just plain crazy!!
With just 2 1/2 weeks to go I braved the cold, hard ground and went camping! Okay, well not the hard ground, I used Chris's cot. But I did brave the cold! Every year Chris and I go camping with my brother Keith and his wife Natalie. This was year #4. I didn't want to miss out just because I was pregnant and it was either go camping at 8 months pregnant or go camping with a newborn. I chose pregnant.
It was an eventful trip for sure. To make a long story short, our original camping spot was crap! You had to put your tent on gravel! It was ridiculous. So we spent the first night in a hotel in durango. Good thing too because it poured rain that night. We ended up finding a really nice place the next day and enjoyed the rest of our camping trip...for the most part. Ava got really sick the first night (in the hotel) and was sick the rest of the trip. The first night we camped she threw up twice and ended up sleeping with Chris on the ground instead of her pack and play. (poor Chris! Ava is the worst to sleep with!) The second, and last, night we camped was much like the first without the throw up. Oh, and it was FREEZING! But during the day we had a good time. Here are a few pictures from the trip. Ava really loves being outside and had a good time playing in the dirt and on the rocks.
Keith's big 30th birthday was strategically planned so it happened on our camping trip, far away from any possible surprise party!
Keith's surpise face! (He picked them out a while ago!)
It's not a Morgan/Shideler camping trip without Keith giving me his "I'm too sexy" butt pose! Here the boys are getting ready to go fishing.

Unfortunately the fishing here was terrible, but Keith enjoyed soaking up a few rays on the pier.

Ava and I also trying to soak up the rays while dad and uncle Keith (keek, as Ava called him) fished.

Ava and Dad (either morning or bedtime, I'm not sure)
And as luck would have it the radio worked fine so the boys were able to listen to Game 2 of the NBA finals. Lucky us!

I just realized I have no pictures of Natalie from our camping trip. You can thank me later, Natalie! :)
Thanks for the good time guys. Looking forward to next year already!

Fun In The (almost) Sun

Ava gets bored very easily and is difficult to entertain all day long. She loves being outside but we've had rainy, gloomy weather for the last two weeks that she's been cooped up inside. But a few days ago we had a little break in the clouds that lasted long enough for Ava to play in the sandbox Grammy made for her. Marilyn had this old plastic kids pool that had some holes in it, so we turned it into a sandbox. Ava really likes it and once the weather gets nice I hope she'll spend even more time in it. Maybe, just maybe, it will give me a few moments break each day!
Our kittens are still around and getting bigger and bigger. Ava loves playing with them and for some reason always wants to sit in their bed with them. (Pretty gross really. That bed is disgusting. But I let her do it anyway.) She also likes to pick them up and carry them around which they, and their mom, don't really like. (Just as long as she doesn't throw it against a tree, right Sally?)

And for some reason I am always the one behind the camera. I don't have any pictures of Ava and I so I made Chris take this one the other day. We only have three weeks left of just the two of us, and I wanted to capture it on camera. Other than the chin, you'd never know she was mine. She is all Shideler!
