Birthday Party!
My little birthday party in Morgantown. I love birthdays that you get to celebrate more than once! Two cakes are awesome! There was one year, way back when, where my party went south and my mom wanted to help me feel better. I had like, four party celebrations that year. That was the best, ever!ALSO, Brandon wanted me to put a better picture of him up on my blog. So there ya go, buddy! Looking forward to seeing you this week when I come in after my surgery!
Ashley's Parade
in one of her parades.
Pretty cute, huh?
She was really good. Not bad for a first-year majorette.
Happy Birthday to Me!

Here is good ole' Shem Creek close to Charleston, SC. We didn't go on our Italy trip, but since we did have some time scheduled off from work, we decided to head down south. We ate at 'Vickery's' our first night, at the window overlooking the dock and the sunset to welcome us! The food was great, too. Fried green tomato tower with feta, pesto, and marinara. Yumm...

Well, we have been busy this tail end of summer. Our trip to Utah was really fun: got to go out and visit family and friends, and have a nice break from work. We planned our trip so we could both go to the family "Cast Away" golf tournament as well as catch little James Duke's blessing.
Of course, actually GETTING to Utah was another story. Tony and I met up for lunch the day we were heading out, and then were running to the store on the way to the airport to grab a couple extra things. It was going to be a quick stop and we would have been to the airport at least a couple hours ahead of time. That was the plan, anyway. On our way to the store, we were rear-ended, and had to wait around for the police report. We made it to the airport, we thought, just in time- at the ticket counter to print our tickets 35 minutes before our flight. Little did we know that Dulles is dumb and won't issue tickets if you are not there at least 40 minutes before. We missed our flight by five minutes. Dumb, dumb, dumb. So we flew to Dallas Friday night and stayed with Tony's Aunt Camille, then flew to Utah in the morning.
Some time between then and now, our computer's video card crashed and we had to get a new computer (which we are borrowing from my dad for now, until we find one we want to buy). We haven't cleaned off the hard drive yet, so hopefully when we do I can post more pictures of the trip. Maybe I can get the pictures from Seneca Rocks, when we went camping over Labor Day weekend with my family, too.
For now we're just working, looking forward to our mini-vacation this week. We were going to go to Italy, but I couldn't bring myself to buy the tickets. Since we had already asked for vacation off from work, we decided to just work half the week and the other half we'll take off for Charleston, South Carolina. We've never been here, but hear it is really beautiful. I just hope we can get to the beach and tour some southern plantations or something really neat. Well, until then...

Here's just a random picture of Tony and Brandon doing some of what they do best. I'm not quite sure what that is yet, but maybe if I ever find out I can let you know.
Brandon is pretty cool, especially now that he's getting older and we can talk about real issues, like, did Ben Stiller really never turn left in Zoolander?
Today Tony and I broke our fast with our rendition of Grandma's flank steak with homemade garlic-herb mashed potatoes, marinated and grilled onions, and salad. I have a pineapple-upside-down cake in the oven and Tony's working on some banana bread to save the browning produce in the kitchen. Yesterday we went golfing at this nine hole par three course in Manassas. It was a little sad- most of the greens were browner than the 'fairways'. It was good, though, because it was so hot and humid that we pretty much had the course to ourselves. And I kind of liked that the holes were so short because I have only been golfing once or twice, so the short fairways kept me from going crazy with inability. Tony gave me a handicap, but he still beat me (my last two holes I triple-bogeyed...ouch!). I guess he gets to choose the Coldstone flavor we get for family home evening tomorrow!
ps- I think I get to go to either Busch Gardens or Kings Dominion next week! I've been dying to get to some theme park this summer. There are so many around! My fam is coming down, so I hope I can get it cleared for a day off of work...

We've been married just over two years now! It's kinda crazy to think about. It seems like it's been just a few months, but at the same time I can't really remember what life was like before. All in all, it's great.
ANYWAY, it is really pretty there. We were visiting my family and Tony really wanted to get up early and go hiking.
Here is not-so-little-anymore Cathy when we got back. This is one of my favorite things about visiting home. She likes to sleep in late, but I make sure to get her up so she has lots of time to play with us! She just loves waking up to a crazy sister in her bed...
Here she is slightly happier. Sisters...ahhh... I think Ashley is way too cute to be thirteen. I had to go through this like...five year super awkward-looking phase when I was her age. She'll be a little heartbreaker (already is). Watch out when she turns sixteen (when she can start dating)!!
I'm glad you're here! Buckle down and get ready for the adventures in the wonderland we call Virginia. (Um, ok, only if 'wonderland' = 'trafficland'! Regardless, hope to see you soon!)
