Dirt Baby

This week Tanner brought home his Dirt Baby from PreSchool. All you have to do is keep water in the bottom of the cup, and watch it grow. Oh yeah... and give it haircuts too!

After haircut from Tanner:

Tanner has been in PreSchool since last September. He loves it! He has progressed in many ways and we feel so blessed to have such an awesome PreSchool with such a GREAT team of teachers and an amazing curriculum!

Here is a current picture of Tanner's wall with just SOME of the fun things Tanner brings home from PreSchool:

Sunday Mornings

Not my favorite.

Sunday mornings, Jer is off at meetings and I have the enjoyable task of getting a 1yr old and a 3yr old ready for church and out the door by 8:45. If we arrive at church by 9:00 alive, it's a success. (Never mind the boys' hair that stick straight up no matter what I do!)

A couple weeks ago (the morning I had to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting) I let Tanner watch Horseland (his favorite show) while I went to get Max and change his diaper. A two minute task. Well, I returned and found this...

Super Nanner found my lipstick. Needless to say, by the time I arrive at church I'm always ready for a nap!

Old MacTanner Had A Farm...

As Tanner approaches his 3rd Birthday, we are learning that he LOVES horses. This obsession started back in January when we went on our Cruise. My parents took the boys to a toy store and let them pick out a couple things. Tanner picked out 2 horses. He now bathes them, feeds them and sleeps with them. The only cartoons that get watches and books that he reads MUST have a horse in them. All my pants are getting very warn in the knees because of all the horsey rides he insists on me giving him every day. We hear more horse noises out of him then we do words. I think you get my point, this boy LOVES horses.

So we recently visited my friend's farm. Tanner was in heaven! He rode the pony for a long time and got to sit on 3 horses after that. Max loved all the other animals on the farm: the cows, the dog, the cat, and the chicken.

It was such a beautiful day to visit the farm. We all had a ton of fun and we all learned a lot!

He doesn't say much, but he sure can skateboard!

I've already blogged about our little skater dude, but believe it or not he's getting better! He watches the neighborhood kids and tries to copy them. See here for his skateboarding last winter. Like I said before, he has been skateboarding since he was 13 months old. He used to skate on toys or books, but now has moved onto the real thing. We now call him Tanner Hawk.

How To...

My brother-in-law, Matt recently had to give a "How to" report.... his was on "How to procrastinate" funny huh! This brought back memories of all the "How to" reports I've given throughout my life, my favorite one being in 3rd grade on "How to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich". Anywho, Matt took great notes on one of the other presentations and was able to share his new knowledge with his wife who shared it with me... and now we're addicted! Thanks guys!

Here's all you need:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Ritz Crackers
  • Almond Bark
  • A toddler who loves to push buttons on the microwave, who loves to make messes, and who loves chocolate

All you do is make a mini PB sandwich with 2 crackers (be sure to load on the PB). Melt the chocolate and dip the mini sandwiches until well coated. Put on wax paper.

ENJOY!

Mini Jeremy

Tanner is entering a new phase where he likes to imitate EVERYTHING we do. The other day I heard a lot a ruckus coming from our bedroom. As I got closer I heard a lot of frustrated grunting noises. When I arrived this is what I saw…
This is Tanner exercising just like Daddy. This was his first success at getting his shirt off by himself (hence the frustrated grunting noises).

Jer got home shortly after I found Tanner on the treadmill. We were having our normal after work chat to catch up on the day. Jer walked by me and gave me a couple little love taps on my derriere. Tanner followed closely behind doing exactly the same thing. Jer saw it from the corner of his eye and said, “Did he just...” and we both started dying of laughter.
We’re learning quickly that we have to mind our P’s and Q’s if we want Tan to do the same.

Party Time for Tanner

Here are a few pics of the birthday boy. We celebrated Tanner’s B-day twice! Once on his real birthday and again when Grandma Leen and Papa Bob came to visit. What fun! On his actual birthday WE made cupcakes and WE made party hats for everyone (even Teddy Bear). One of Tanner’s favorite things is to go to the Park so we went a couple times with Grandma Leen and Papa Bob. Tanner picked the Basketball Cake out of a Birthday Cake Book that my sis gave to me. Me, my mom, and even Tanner helped create the masterpiece that we’re all very proud of! We had a great week!

Tan Man Turns TWO!

Since Tanner is turning 2 this week, I think I have the right as his Mommy to do a bragging blog or a BLAG (as my sister says). Tanner is such a sweet little guy who loves to give hugs and high-fives. I can’t believe he’s already 2! In some ways it’s gone by fast, in some ways very slow, but all I know is that I can’t imagine my life without him! He is such a blessing to us.

Here are a couple videos of Tan Man…
Tanner can beat you down the stairs any day of the week!

Tanner started skateboarding at 13 months. He picked up on it from all the neighbor boys. He loves it!

Tanner also loves basketball. He has a killer left arm shot! He makes Daddy so proud!
