My to-do list

Get ready for Janae's birthday party - we have twelve 3 and 4 year-olds coming over.....
* decorate the cake
*get supplies from JoAnn's
*clean the house
*finish prepping the games
*get stuff from Albertson's
*set up and decorate (after girls are asleep)

Pack for trip to Springfield
*do all laundry
*pack all 4 of us
*try not to forget anything (which is easier said than done)

Okay....so when I type it out, it doesn't sound that bad, but I am feeling a little overwhelmed by all I have to do today. It could be worse - I actually did get a lot of the prep done earlier this week. Anyway, enough of a break - back to work!

Another new skill

At 7 months Kiera started crawling and within a few days was pulling herself up/walking along the furniture. I knew it wouldn't take her long to figure out the walking thing. Starting a week or so ago, Kiera has been pushing the baby stroller around the house. She gets so excited - this is how she loves to get around now.

This was her yesterday....

This morning, she started standing up by herself (without holding on to anything) in the middle of the room. Then she would look at me like, "Did you see that Mommy?!?"

This afternoon......

She started doing this on her own after we got home from swimming. In the video she is walking toward Tami and Siena. I have known for a while that she's been close to walking - it was just funny how quickly it came on today. Like something clicked inside of her. She spent most of the evening walking around the house like a pro!!

Weekend in Lincoln City

Last weekend we spent some time in Lincoln City with Jeff's side of the family. It was really fun to spend so much time together and let the kids play. Friday was a little rainy in the morning, so we went to the aquarium in Newport.
Even Kiera enjoyed watching the fish.
She's always such a happy girl - which is especially great on trips!
Beans and Daddy checking out the touch-pool.
Beans and cousin Hayden looking at the seals. The 4 cousins - of course its impossible to get everyone looking at the camera and smiling at the same time....oh, well - they're still cute!
The kids had a good time playing together. We brought some toys from home, so they ran around inside the rental having a good time. Jimmy especially loved Janae and wanted to follow her around. Janae wasn't so sure about that.
Janae and Jimmy on the couch.
Kiera with the ride-on toy. She loved this, but hardly got a chance to play with it - Janae and Jimmy kept dominating it.

On Saturday we went the the outlet malls - surprisingly, I had never been there before! I loved it, and am looking forward to going there again. I got some good deals and did pretty well at not going completely crazy. I did limit myself, which I am really proud of. I don't know if I'll be able to say that next time though....... We did get to spend some time down on the beach on Saturday. It was beautiful weather, but of course it was windy down by the water. The kids didn't care - they enjoyed it while they could.
Janae and Jimmy (with Hayden in the background)
You can tell from J's face that it was bright and windy!Dig, dig, dig, dig....
