He is getting so big!

Brandon was "really hungry" around 5:00, so I got his dinner for him and I was sitting with him while he was eating. He was almost done and I told him I needed to run to the bathroom and when he was finished to meet me in his bathroom for his bath. While I was washing my hands, he ran into our room and told me he had put his spoon, fork, and plate in the dishwasher and he put his cup in the sink. After his words sunk in, I asked him what he did with the food on his plate and he said, "Well, I put it in the trashcan, Mommy!" I praised him for helping me and I went to the kitchen to see for myself. Sure enough, in the dishwasher was his cleaned off plate on the bottom rack standing just as if I had done it, and his fork and spoon were in the silverware tray! I was so excited and at the same time a little disappointed thinking that he is really growing up on us! I can't believe how fast he is growing! I am looking forward to see what he does next...

New words, new sayings...

I remember like it was yesterday the joy of hearing Brandon saying Momma and Daddy and looking at us. I remember the excitement we both felt as he was adding words to his vocabulary. Just a few months ago, I loved hearing him use because and since correctly in a sentence and hearing him tell secrets! All of these language milestones are wonderful and I have been eager for him to continue to expand his vocabulary...until last week! Last week we added shut-up and stupid to the list of words to use! Of course, we talked about how those words aren't nice and that we don't talk like that in our home. However, his buddy at school does say those words so I did the "I am not his mommy..." talk. Anyway, no pictures for this post, just hoping that our language development gets back on track with "nice" words soon!

Favorite Things

It is hard to believe that in 2009 Brandon will be turning 4! The time has gone by so fast and he is changing so quickly. It is amazing to see his personality emerging and WOW does he ever have a personality! During our time off from school/work we have enjoyed doing Brandon's favorites.

Here are a few of Brandon's Favorite Things...
#10
Brandon loves doing bubbles. We have been known to do bubbles in the bathtub when it is dark, cold, or raining outside!

#9
Brandon never leaves a puddle undisturbed. He can find a puddle when we think there are none to be seen! He doesn't like the wet shoes and socks after the puddles, but that doesn't interrupt his puddle fun!

#8
This fun started after playing in a puddle one day. He took his shoes and socks off and as he walked around he noticed he made footprints all over the cement. Now, when he plays in puddles it seems that footprints are to follow. However, sometimes there are no puddles when he wants to make footprints so we resort to water in a bowl!

#7

Brandon loves to be outside! We are so fortunate to live in Texas where year round we can play outside. He loves to be in our backyard playing and he also loves trips to the park.

#6
Brandon loves to ride his scooter and his gator. He just got his scooter for Christmas '08 and he wants to ride it everyday! Brandon has had the gator since last Christmas and he has ridden many miles.

#5
Brandon loves to eat icecream cones. He doesn't want it to drip on him so lucky for Momma, she gets some, too!

"Oh, Momma, this tastes so good!"

#4
This would not be an accurate list without adding McDonald's chicken nuggets and french fries! Brandon would eat chicken nuggets for every meal if we would let him. He loves to get to play, then eat, then play again, when we go to McDonalds. It has only been in the last few months that he has been interested in the toy. I could put the toy in his backpack and it was never mentioned before, but now he has to see his toy before he can eat!

#3
Brandon has so much fun when he is with his friends! He loves to go to "Jonathan's house" to play with Jonathan, Jenna, and Jessica. He also adores his friends from school. I think I may have a very social little boy on my hands!

#2
Oh, how Brandon loves to take a bath. He loves bubble baths, he loves to play with his toys in the bath, and he loves to rinse off in the "rain" to get all the bubbles off!

AND #1...

Brandon loves being with his Daddy and his Momma! Daddy and Brandon enjoy watching movies, playing catch, wrestling, playing games, and cuddling together. Mommy and Brandon enjoy making cookies, playing games, watching movies, coloring, and cuddling together.

I love our shutterfly account (www.jkbmunson.shutterfly.com) and will continue that, but so many exciting things happen and aren't shared through shutterfly. I hope you will check our blog often to read about the happenings of our family.

Happy New Year!
