Our Flammily

We went and saw Santa last night at the Bass Pro Shop. Daniel loved looking at and playing on all of the boats and 4 wheelers. He also liked sitting on Santa's lap because he knew that he would get a treat afterward. He wasn't scared, which made me happy because I got my picture!

Daniel found the salt behind my back and had some fun. I think he doubled the mess while I was trying to take the picture :)

This is Joshua's bed (a corner by the front door in the family room) when I need to use my room to do some sewing, so he can't sleep in his real bed (a pack n play underneath my hanging clothes in my closet). I love our small apartment!
(actually, I really do love our apartment. I just think it is kind of crazy how everything works out)

Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving. Daniel had fun helping me make the apple pie. He enjoyed taking bites of the apples, and then putting them back. I figured that cooking it would kill any germs anyway right?



He also wanted to help peel potatoes, and apples. He and I did do it together, but he wouldn't help me when we got the camera out.

Here is Jason's beautiful turkey. He did everything to make it, and it turned out great! I was really glad that he wanted to do it all, then I didn't have to!

Cheryl, Kirk, and Cade came to visit for the holiday. It was a lot of fun to have them here to hang out with. We enjoyed their company-even if it was a little bit crowded.

Here are a few recent pictures. We are having fun with our Joshua! Daniel LOVES being a brother and tries to be really helpful. He doesn't usually get jealous, so that is nice for me!

Mom had a ton of fun with both boys while she was here. She was here for a week, and we had lots of fun, and kept really busy. I am so glad that she was able to come and help out for the week!

My mom took a new family picture of us!

Since my mom was coming in to town so close to Daniel's birthday (October 27), we decide to wait and have our party/celebration while she was here. So, we celebrated Daniel's birthday 2 weeks late (I am pretty sure that he didn't know the difference). He LOVED opening presents, and I am sure he didn't even know why he got to open presents. It was fun to see him get so excited about everything!


This is the choo choo cake that my mom and I made. Daniel loved that it was a train! We didn't eat much of the cake, but we sure had fun making it!


These are sock puppet alligators that my mom made for Daniel so they could play on Skype. My mom has had one that Daniel always loved, so she made one for him and me!

He got a shopping cart, and a backpack.

He also got a set of play food, because he loves to help me cook in the kitchen.


He had so much fun playing with his new toys, he has played with everything everyday this week. I am glad he had so much fun!

Yesterday Daniel saw Joshua with the binky. He immediately went over and stuck his finger inside the binky so that Joshua was sucking on his finger too. He sure thought that was cool! (I was fine with it until Daniel started playing with the binky, and then wanted to put it back in Joshua's mouth)

Daniel loves to hold Joshua, and hold his hand. It is fun to watch him try and interact with Joshua-when he is nice :)

So we realized when going back to look at pictures of Daniel, what is true weight really was...

They were the EXACT same weight at 8 pounds 6.9 ounces, kinda cool huh?

Cheryl has a 2 month old named Cade and Daniel has had a lot of fun playing with him too. He is a bit more fun and interactive for Daniel to play with. I am glad that Cheryl could be here to help us out and to hang out with. It has been a lot of fun!
We tried a few pictures of all three Smith Grandkids, but it didn't work out all that great (I didn't really expect it too). Cade is so wiggly he would hit Joshua, and Daniel just wanted to see all of the pictures that I was taking. It was fun to see them all together. We will just have to try a few more times, and maybe it will work out better.

Daniel loves his brother! He can say Josh and is pretty nice to him until he falls on his head or something else. I think it will take some getting used to that he isn't the only one for mom to play with, but he is handling the change really well. It is fun to see him want to play and have fun with his new brother. I am so excited to have two boys!
