The Kids Birthday Pictures

Every Year I have been taking pictures of the kids around the time of their birthdays. I just get some blankets, and a box for them to sit on, hang up the blanket with tape and go for it. Here are some of the shots I took this year. Joshua is so much easier to get to smile and do what I wanted than Daniel was. I think they both had fun doing it though! The final pictures that I printed to hang on the wall are at the very bottom of the post.

Here is the picture we settled on for printing for Daniel.

And here is the one we printed for Joshua.

Joshua's Birthday

Sunday was Joshua’s birthday. He turned two! He woke up and found balloons downstairs to play in. he was really excited about that. He was also SUPER excited to find that he got to open presents. I think he knew what was going on because Daniel had his birthday last week. Yesterday morning he opened all of his presents. He got a school bus, trix cereal, a train, and a play lawn mower. He was thrilled open things. We then played trains and had snacks. Then we went to church. After church we had Chicken and Rice for dinner because I thought Josh would like it. He didn’t eat ANYTHING . Oh well, then we went for a walk, and skyped with Grandma and Grandpa Smith. Both kids went to bed around 6:30, because of the time change. I think Josh had a good birthday, and I am really glad that we could all spend time together as a family.

The kids fought over this lawnmower ALL DAY long!

The new book

Josh chose cookies, then he wouldn't blow out candles, and he wouldn't even eat EITHER kinds of cookie that we had.  Usually he gobbles them up. Oh well :)

Halloween 2013

For Halloween this year we had a SUPER Daniel and a SUPER Joshua. They wore, capes and masks. They each had on a sweat suit: Daniel was blue, and Josh was Red. They looked great, and LOVED their costumes! We went trick-or-treating and were out for about 45 minutes. After that they kids were done, so we came home and passed out some candy. They kids had a lot of fun. Josh was GREAT at saying Thank-you. He wasn’t shy at all when it came to getting candy!

Denver Zoo Trip

A few weeks ago a friend invited us to go to the zoo with her. She has a pass that got me in, so I only had to pay for Daniel. We had a great time and the day was PERFECT! The weather was great, the high was around 55 and there weren’t too many people there. The best part was that it wasn’t too crowded. We saw all of the regulars: giraffes, bears, camels, lion, zebras, LOTS of monkeys, but I think one of my favorites was a porcupine. He was up walking around and eating a stick. It was fun to watch him do his thing. Daniel walked the entire time, and Joshua was in and out of the stroller. He enjoyed walking, and I enjoyed him in the stroller cuz it is easier to keep track of him. They have a lorkeet place where we fed the birds nectar. The bird sat on my hand and drank from the cup. It was pretty fun, and Joshua thought that was cool too. It was worth the dollar to do it!

Pumpkin Patch

We visited a local pumpkin patch. The best part was that it was free! We took a hayride, looked at the animals, and played on the playground. It was a nice day and the kids loved to be outside. We went with some of our friends from the ward.

Toys to play on. Josh loved to drive the cars.

Daniel's favorite toy was the airplane.

Joshua loved to chase the chickens that were freely roaming around.

There was also a tractor to climb on. Joshua loved it. I don't think Daniel ever got on because he was too busy playing with friends.

Daniel's Birthday

October 27 was Daniel's birthday. We had a friends super hero party for him, and also celebrated on the actual day. For his birthday dinner, he chose to have shell tacos, and I think he ate 4. We also had the primary program on his birthday at Church and he did fabulous! We had a fun time with him, and he is already talking about what we are going to do for his birthday when he turns 5 :).
This is our basement set up for an obstacle course for Daniel's birthday Party.
