Baking bread with Phineas

I lucked out and found a really great 100% whole wheat bread recipe that cannot fail. At least, it cannot as long as you don't accidentally put too much salt in (which I have done..). Milayla won't eat store bought bread anymore because she says the homemade stuff is just too good. And the boys aren't too far behind her.

So when I had to stay home from church with a sick little Phineas today I was happy to recruit my little helper to make bread. He LOVES helping in the kitchen and I think he was particularly in love with the fact that he was the only helper in there so he got to put in all the ingredients that we needed. And the big kids were pretty excited about fresh homemade bread in the afternoon after church. I'm happy to make bread to see the smiles of my happy helper and my happy eaters :).

And if anyone is looking for a great bread recipe - this is it HERE

Just a little note

:::I found this little note in my drafts from some point during winter. I remember the hurting of my foot but cannot remember when during winter it was. Anyhow, I thought this was too cute not to post. I love those kiddos. So much.::::

I'm sitting on the couch. On a Saturday morning. Watching the children play in the snow out the window. My heart aches that I am not out there with them. Like, seriously aches.

I hurt my foot which frustrates me terribly. I shan't get into that, though.

What I will get in to is how much fun it is to even just watch those kids at work. Setting their imagination to work in the snow. Building ice rinks and pretending to skate around on them. I would usually be out there doing it all with them.

But for now, I need to sit back. Rest my foot (and hope it heals quickly!). And let Jason have a turn with those sweet kids. And I must say, seeing the lot of them traipse off towards the mailbox to see if Milayla's backpack had arrived was mighty sweet to watch.

Can't wait to be out there playing in the snow with them. Though I will be equally excited when I get to scoop them up in my arms for so snuggles and book time when they are all done out there.
