The wind chill where Joel's property is located: -37....yes, that "-" is a negative.
I actually ended up with a snow day today! I was quite proud of myself after I drove all the way to Monument, and then they said I could go back home if I wanted to because we wouldn't be too busy with the bad weather. The rest of the week should be "warmer"... balmy 40 degrees this weekend, which is a temperature I never thought I'd be so excited to see.
I'm not quite sure how much snow we have in our yard...but I'm going to guess 4" or so? Hurley had a great time romping through the neighborhood on our walk a little bit ago. Going for a quick lap around the block isn't very easy here during the winter: long johns, fleece pants, ski pants, long sleeves, sweatshirt, fleece, ski jacket, hat, scarf, and gloves and then we can head out of the garage!
Joel has been going full force since Saturday night when the storm started. He is now managing a single property for snow removal- this property is very picky and as Joel says, "they expect you to be out there catching the snow in buckets before it hits the ground," so he hasn't been home much! Well, enough about the weather right now...as far as what else has been going on since we blogged, we were able to attend a Broncos game! My aunt and uncle had tickets from a friend, so we got to watch the Broncos get smeared by San Diego...but it was a lot of fun!
We spent our first Thanksgiving away from home, which was sad, but we were able to head to Denver to spent it with my aunt and uncle and some of their friends. The day after Thanksgiving, we headed up to Loveland for a day of skiing. Most of the resorts weren't fully open yet, so we headed to this sport that is not too far from Denver. We had a great time and it is fun to think we can just run up and ski when we have an afternoon or day open.
Not much else to report...we had our Sunday School Christmas party this past Saturday, and Joel won the prize for ugliest Christmas sweater- I was so proud! We also went up to the Pike National Forest to cut a Christmas tree!
Only 209 hours until we're back in the SOUTH for Biz's wedding and family Christmases!
