The crusaders had a really special themed Life Meeting last Wednesday!
Theme: Growing up

It's a cool concept that Glenn and his DG came out with! I really loved it! :) Special thanks to Benlau who ran the whole LM! I really really enjoyed myself with the wonderful fellowship and beautiful scenery :)

LM was held at Bedok Reservoir with childhood stuff like bubbles, sparklers, drinks and tidbits where we get to eat when we're in primary school! We broke up into smaller groups with seniors and freshies mixed and shared about our childhood days (but for my group we shared about why we love crusade and I had Mich (DG mate) and Dyna (my disciple) in my group :) Great time of interaction with them!

Playing with the bubbles before we gathered for worship!
And as we gather for worship (It was Nicholas' first time leading worship!)
And we worshipped all the way till the sun set :) It's really nice worshipping the Lord and at the same time admiring the nature :) Great time of worship to destress!
(prob you can minus the ants/bugs invasion part, i was wearing shorts!)
And this is my favourite! Sparklers, my childhood! :D
(and see that stack of papers with me, that's M1 questionnaires! :S)
.
Would really love to join the crusaders for more fellowship over dinner but both Michelle and I decided to head back to the comp lab to finish up our work. We talked while we did projects together! :p I love Michelle's company! We did work till the lab closes k! First time I did that!
.
Anyway I would love to end this blog entry with a testimonial shared by Jessica:
.
There's a Christian outreach group in TP called Generation Alive and they reach out to students by placing notes on their lockers and prayed for the notes that they're gonna receive. And something amazing really happened!
.
This girl in TP was looking for meaning in life and she have decided that "by today" if I still find no meaning in life, she'd go and commit suicide. When she reached school, she saw a note on the locker and it says, "You have meaning in life." She was stunned and she went around and look at other notes and none has the same words as hers. And yes, she didn't commit suicide and got to know Jesus Christ in the end.
.
This really inspires me and motivates me to continue to reach out to my peers :)
Hope this will encourage your heart to reach the lost for Jesus too :)
.
Thankyou Jess for sharing!

Alright, this is the edited entry from that very tired night :) Really wanna share this interesting expreience with you guys!

I stayed back in school to complete Marketing Research project and by then I was really really tired. As I was walking to the bus stop, I met my childhood cum secondary school mate YQ and he asked if I wanna share a cab with him as he's rushing for time. So, I gave it a thought, since I'm so tired and cab fare wouldn't exceed $2, so why not? And in the end, YQ said he'll pay for it since he's gonna take cab anyway.

Was thanking God in my heart at that point of time! Tired and here comes a free cab to bring me home! :p

So we cabbed back to our area and I decided to go photocopy some stuff for project since it's still early (cause I cabbed back) and when I'm supposed to liquid some wordings away before I photocopy, I realised that my pencil case (with thumbdrive inside) went missing! And you know, it was so close to deadlines, thumbdrive = all my time and effort on projects. I prayed immediately!

First thought, in computer lab? (Huh.. have to travel back to school again) And as I walked to the bus stop, here comes my second thought, could it be I dropped it in the cab? If that's the case, then I don't have to travel back to school again. But I knew I have to try my luck by going back school to check it out.

So I travel back to school and I suddenly remembered that I saved a copy of whatever that's in my thumbdrive to my desktop the night before! I was so relieved then! And next thought, since like that, should I get off the bus? Preparing for the worst = assuming that thumbdrive is in the cab. But this impression in my mind just told me to go back school and check.

Went back school, headed to the computer lab I was at and as I drew the keyboard slide out, I saw my pencil case! (I was not expecting to see it!) In my heart, I was like, "Huh! Okay!"

On my way home (no more cab this time round haha!), I was reflecting on the whole process. There were times where I felt joyful and thankful and times where I complained why I'm so careless and need to make extra trip back to school, but God has taught me many things relevant to my situation in life right now :)

1. God's blessings come at the right time
If not for my friend, I wouldn't cab back, photocopy my project stuff and realised that my thumbdrive went missing! Even though I had to make an extra trip back school, I've experienced how God answered my prayer.

2. Never give up!
There were many thoughts running in my head, trying to convince myself that the thumbdrive must have dropped in the cab and there's no point going back to school but if I succumbed to that, I wouldn't have found my pencil case and thumbdrive!

So all in all, thank you Lord! You've helped me to learn these two important points through this lesson and I will remember it during this tough period :)

I finally got hold of the lyrics "You Carried Me"

Special thanks to Anna! :D Thank you dear friend, it means a lot when I received your email! Hope this song will encourage your heart too? :)

And also Thomas who helped to look for the lyrics, thank you so much! Appreciate it! :)

This song brings comfort to me. God has been really good, working in many areas in my life. He answers prayers! And I am very thankful indeed :)

So let me share with all of you;
You carried me...

Its only when I looked back and drift away
My crooked path has wandered
I see the footprints in the sand
Then I realised you were there beside me
Every single day

You carried me through all my trials
You carried me when I was troubled and alone
When my strength had gone
Couldn’t get along without you

You carried me so I wouldn’t stumble
You carried me just when I needed someone there
Who would be a friend when I reach the end
Because you carried me

And now as i turned to face the narrow way
With shadows growing longer
I know my Saviour's by my side
Always be there for me
And you care for me
When the enemies draws near

He carried me through all my trials
He carried me when I was troubled and alone
When my strength had gone
Couldn’t get along with without you

He carried me so I wouldn’t stumble
He carried me just when I needed someone there
Who would be a friend when I reach the end
Because He carried me

A thankful Joelle...

I crossed the road without knowing that it was red light still
& this school bus started to horn me,
& i only realised after the 3rd or 4th horn.

I almost got knocked down by a bus this afternoon!
Oh dear, what's happening to me?
It was so drama ok!
The bus was so so near.
*Cold sweats!

But thank God I'm alright still!
Shocking exprience man.

I spent both Wednesday and Thursday at Sentosa playing vollyball!
Both were good sessions,
getting to make more friends and learn how to play volley better. :)
Was a good winding session for me,
thank God for that! :D

Something that I want to thank God for is also my sec4/5 cell group!
I am really happy to see them sharing with me their lives. :)
Hope that I can serve them better for the rest of this year! :)

So... projects started to kick in.
& backaches started to kick in too.

Trusting all in God's strength to lead me through this stressful period.
I know my God is able to carry me through. :)

I know that this is true because after crying out to God a few days ago,
& things got better each day. :)

With a thankful heart,
A thankful Joelle. :)

"Lord can I have a break?
Can I fall sick?
I really need a break."

And God answered:
Being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. - Romans 4:21

Why did God consider Abraham a righteous man? It was because Abraham looked beyond his own limitations of age and strength and considered God as the one who could accomplish His own goals. Abraham came to a place in his life where he realized it had little to do with him and all to do with God. His part was initiating the faith within himself.

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be." Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead-since he was about a hundred years old-and that Sarah's womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God (Romans 4:18-20).

What are the things in your life that are mere impossibilities? What are the mountains in your life? Are these there in order to build your faith in the one who can enable you to ascend to the peak? Once you know that it is His will for you to pursue, do it with faith. Faith requires action when we know it is He who is leading. It may require risk. Faith is sometimes spelled R-I-S-K. Abraham did not limit God. It is this confidence in God that God honored and rewarded. He wants to do the same with you and me.

Prime Time with God.

Need to rely on God's strength,
because I've experienced that,
I can't do it myself. :(

I had a great time with my Sec 4/5 ell group ytd! :D
& I'm really happy because I felt that I have not been leading them properly.
& Enhan was around with the cell!
Thank God for him. :D

I bought a small gift for each & everyone of them
according to my observation of their personality during camp.
So everyone is supposed to go one around and guess which gift is for them
& debate if anyone objects.
It was a really cool session! :D

& we had a time of appreciation for Enhan as he'll be leaving for US soon.

Random: I think we should think of a name for sec 4/5 cell!

It's gonna be a busy week ahead for me.
Things that I must do:
Chomps dinner with Sinyi, Wanting & Simon
Make I/C replacement
Make EZ link replacement
Video shooting for Psychology project
Bring Shumin to chomps & ice cube! (my promise)
Stayover at my house.

FAMILY DINNER LATER! :D

Friday, June 15, 2007

Fulfilling day thus far, tinged with a small bit of sadness and stress. :(

Laksa messaged me this morning
& told me that he's arranging a family dinner on Sunday evening! :D
We'll be dining at Marina Square's Thai Express!
Really hope it'd be a wonderful time spent together! :D

Met up with Psychology groupmates
& thank God, really!
We finished script outline and commercial idea all within less than 1 hour!
Video shooting next Tues,
hoping that nothing will go wrong. :)

Since project ended earlier than expected,
I went to the supermarket to shop for little gifts
for my secondary 4/5 cell members! :D
Had fun doing so. :)

I just submitted the progress report for my class
& I really feel very stress about it. :(
If everything is gonna continue like that,
I will break down soon. :'(
I'd rather pass this class rep job to another person
if he/she is capable of it.

Off to do encouragement cards
& prepare for tmr's cell group.
Heh, it's gonna be something interesting. :)
Hope it surprises them! :D

Hello all! I'm back from church camp & I had tons of fun with RYMers! :D
& of course, lots of thanksgivings too! :D

Anna to join us for a day at camp!
I'm really happy that Anna is able to make it for the camp,
even though it's only one day and not staying over,
I thank God still! :)
& she said that she can feel the warmth when she's with us! :D
(Genesis group members took initiative to intro themselves,
am proud of them!) :D

Genesis - My camp group! :D
They're a great bunch!
We may not be the noisiest bunch but I really thank God for each individual.
Many lessons learnt from relating to my groupmates.
Esp this young boy in my group,
I've learnt to accept him for who he is as Enhan shared,

Loving someone means going to that person's level and relate to him/her.
Woah, how true. Precious lesson learnt. :)

Overcoming some fears
I was obligated to overcome this fear that I have - Darkness.
As the older ones have to lead the younger ones for night walk,
I happen to be the older one in my group,
leading one pri six boy and sec two girl.
Honestly, I was a bit afraid.
But I told myself that I can't show it.
And yay! I led them in the night walk and overcame this fear.
Maybe not totally, but it's definitely better than before. :)
& as this was actually one of the objective that I've set for myself for this camp!

Mass Dance was a success!
Woo! Seems like RYM enjoyed the mass dances!
& I'm really happy to hear that. :D
& even more happy to see some girls dancing in their own bunk. :D :D :D
"L-O-V-E WOO!"
Thankyou to all Mass Dance helpers once again! :D

Wonderful bonding with roomies and groupmates
Yes, I enjoyed their company very very much!
Got to know my roomies better too. :)
Many sharings, many laughters, many "hey wait for me!"s.
Thank God for wonderful fellowship and bonding! :D
It's really great to be with brothers & sisters in Christ!

& lastly... my wonderful angel for this camp, Nellis!
Who's always so caring to me during the camp. :)
Thank you for all your surprises each day and being such a nice lil sister!
Though, sometimes, still very naughty.
Anyhow, I love you still!
My pretty angel! :D

Opps... Not forgetting the Camp Comm!
The camp comm did a wonderful job!
If any of you happen to read this post,
I would like to appreciate you guys by telling you guys that,

The camp was really fun and special.
& have impacted my life in many ways!
God bless all of you! :D

Sentosa outing with year 2 crusaders!

It was very much like a SM retreat
because it was only the year 2s!
However no planning done except for singing some worship songs. :)
& more of volleyball (we invested in a ministry vb!)
& wenhao's game, Capture the flag!

Had a great time of fellowship
even though it will be better with Michelle around. :)
Don't like being the only girl!
However am happy still!
Because I got myself a tan! :D

Ben, Joelle, Wenhao, JL & Asriel (who had sunburnt only on his knee haha!)

And my slippers broke! I end up walking in Vivo/Habourfront centre/PS...

Like that!

Heh got myself a Daiso $2 pair of slippers after dinner with the crusaders!

2 weeks of holidays...

Hi all! :D
Mid Sem tests are over! :D
Something worth rejoicing! :D *rejoices*

Tough process but thank God for all the encouragements!
I really did put in my best effort,
so now it's all up to God.
Because I believe it's always 100% man effort and 100% God's effort.
& definitely trust in Him.

Quiet time for the past week have been encouraging as well! :)
So yeah, thank God for that!

2 weeks of holidays = camp + projects + sentosa outings & yummy food!

Here are some things that I want to accomplish these 2 weeks:

So far... not good.
Huge Sigh*
What a bad day today! :(

Mid Sem tests so far has been demoralizing.
It makes me realise that there's no point studying so hard.
Alright if I were to be optimistic,
at least I studied,
if not it'll be worse.

Jia left me an email before she left yesterday!
That brightened up my day a lot! :D

Something to look forward to:
Sentosa outing with crusaders on Fri! :D

See you in 1 month's time Jia!
Hope this card might encourage her heart.
Heh, the content is abit mushy but it's okay. :p
Jiayou Jia!

Off to the airport now!
Oh & btw!
I felt so cheated after taking FAOM paper today. :(
Studied so much but.. Sigh.

Sunday, June 03, 2007

A big fat hello to Mid Sem tests!
4 papers to go! :)
Spent the day studying today,
quite productive! :D
I love my study table. :)
the encouragement cards,
my fave mug from Jia,
& neatly binded notes.
& this keeps me awake.
Seriously,
this is the first time I'm so relunctant to eat sweet while studying!
Jia's leaving for Shui. :)
Happy yet worried for her.
but I believe it's gonna be a thanksgiving in the end.
I firmly believe. :)
Jiayou Jia! :D

I was late for FAOM revision lecture.
Ah, that made me really sad. Serious. :(

But thank God because I was on time for the most impt part of the lecture!
So now I understand Contribution Margin, Ratios, etc. :)

BSGIG main comm release of result! :)
Finally stepping down. :)
I'll miss those times though,
stress, fun, laughters
& project mtg/lunch (fave maggie noodle) in lib! :p
Last 2 events, Captain's ball & BSG day!
and.. 450 dinner!
Inside joke. Woo!

Supposed to have a dinner date with Sam at 85,
to eat ba chor mee without ba chor!
But ended up having dinner with classmates and Sam,
since they just had account test together this evening.
Was a laughable and enjoyable dinner though! :)

Now,
back at home.

Done with QT,
back to studies.

Dear Sam,
Seeing you smile makes me feel :D too!
Know that I'll be here for you. :)
You're my best girlfriend in TP!

I'm hungry...again.

It's past midnight now!
& I'm feeling hungry again.

O cravings for Design cheese fries! :D

Reading through FAOM notes
& listening to some children praise songs.

It makes me feel happy
& forget all the stress I'm facing.
Maybe you should try it too. :)

Sam darling, I love you & please cheer up!
Dinner with you tmr! :D
