Abbey, Gracie and I got to rock out at David Archeleta's amazing concert in Pocatello. We went with our good friends, the Driscoll's.
He was even better then I remember him on American Idol (but he is so tiny). We had so much fun!!!

Good Friends!!!

Jenn Hobbs, Mari Heimuli, Me, Kristy Feller

I have been blessed with the greatest friends ever. We meet in Salt Lake for a much need rejuvination get together. I feel so uplifted after I have spent time with these amazing ladies.

One more spring break experience

My cousin Kim and her new baby Amelia

The kids and I were able to go to Temple Square. My cousin, Kim Easton and her husband Nate were sealed to their beautiful little Amelia. She is the third child they have been able to adopt and seal to their family. It was such a special experience for me to be in the sealing room with some of my family and witness this blessing. Amelia is so sweet and adorable.

Spring Break!

Well, unlike normal places we have spring break when it is NOT spring. The kids and I decided to go to Utah for a change of scenery. Our family and friends down there of course are in school. We did get to do fun things and see a few people. One day we went to watch my niece Elsie at her dance class then spent a few hours at Kangaroo Zool. The kids love jumping on all the blow-up things. I get to sit and read while they are getting worn out. We also got to take my sister-in-laws, Heather and Lindsay out to lunch. We were able to visit grandma and grandpa Lewis. Grandma just came home from having surgery on a broken hip. My kids love it at Poppy and Gram's house. So for a non-spring Spring Break, we had a great time and even enjoyed nice warm weather.

Superiors!

Gracie and Abbey got SUPERIORS at their piano festival! This was Gracie's first year and Abbey's third. Abbey gets her 15pt. gold cup. They are both great at the piano.
Abbey also won 1st place earlier that moring in her dance competition in Pocatello.
We had quite a day.

Happy 5th Birthday Hilary!!

No princesses or fairies this year, it was all about COWGIRLS!! Hilary has been counting down her birthday for about 364 days. I was glad it finally came. We had a great time with 12 of Hilary's friends. We played pin the belt buckle on the cowgirl, hokey pokey, stick horse races, musical pass the horse and "Cowboy John" says. Hilary's cowgirl cake with horses.
Cowboy John with little cowboy Carter. This was Hilary's favorite part of her party.

The Cowgirl Princess herself.....HILARY
A few things we love about Hilary...
-her big brown eyes that sparkle even when she is mad
-her talent of telling all sorts of stories
-watching her quietly play make believe by herself
-she is a great dancer and looks forward to dance class every week
-she loves the spotlight
-she is a great sister to her little brother
-she loves to help her mom and dad
We love you Hilary. Thank you for the joy you bring into our lives!

Locked In!

Thursday morning was suppose to be my day to get things done for the weekend. I didn't have to get anywhere until the afternoon. As I was finishing getting ready for the day I heard loud banging over the hairdryer. I turned the dryer off and realized it was coming from the door where the toilet is in my bathroom. "Mommy, get me out of here!" is what I heard mixed in with constant pounding and kicking. Carter decided to lock himself in. Well, if he is strong enough and smart enough to lock it, shouldn't he be able to UNLOCK it? He became quite panicked so it took awhile to get him calm enough to get him to try anything. After about 20 minutes of unsuccessfully getting him to turn the lock the other direction, I got the hammer and screw driver out. Carter knows when I am not right by the door. If I step into my room I hear, "Mom, I can't see you". He has his little face pressed on the floor, looking under to see my feet. "Mommy, touch my hands", "Mommy can you please help me, I want you". I was trying!!! After taking the hinges off the door still wouldn't come off. I tried Q-tips, bobby pine, little screw driver, and a wire hanger. I called John who was in meetings. I called the contractor hoping he would be around to have a suggestion or help me. Because our house is new, I wasn't super excited about breaking my door or the trim but it looked like it was coming to that. A couple hours later, John finally arrived. He thought talking to Carter some more would work....him giving the SAME instructions might make the difference :). I even drew a picture of the door knob and lock that he sent under the door for further instruction. Luckily, John got the lock slid has I was finding pliers for the hack saw. We got him out!!! He was sooooo excited and stinky! Later that afternoon the contractor finally called me back and said that door should have a little key somewhere. Wouldn't that have been nice. My day to get a lot accomplished was spent on my knees outside the bathroom door. You got to love toddlers!!! The JOYS of being a mom! PRICELESS!!!

Nazz Kart: YF&R Social

John and I were in charge of our YF&R District social. We went to Nazz Kart. The girls had a blast climbing the rock wall. Each time they would get a little further up and so proud of themselves. Gracie and Hilary didn't believe I could make it all the way to the top. So I did (even in my bare feet) and made it to the top. I turned around thinking I would get cheers :) but the little stinkers were gone...go figure!!! Carter wanted to ride the go-karts so bad. The closest he got was borrowing someone's hat and making the noises. We had a good time and think everyone else did to.

Happy Birthday Grandma Andersen!

We had a great Sunday afternoon celebrating Norma's birthday. We all love and apreciate her so much. She is a great mother and grandmother. These are all but three of her grandchildren (Katie's kids in New York). What a beautiful posterity. Happy Birthday Grandma!

Congrats Abbey!!!

Abbey did awesome this weekend at her competition. She won first place..."Queen" !!! She was so excited and proud of herself. We were in Idaho Falls again. Our good friends, Lannon and Abby Kinghorn came and watched her. Layne Kinghorn, the great, the brave, and crazy.... took Carter and Hilary with his other three kids so they wouldn't have to endure. THANK YOU!!!! Abbey works hard and is good at whatever she does. She loves to dance! She has a very graceful quality about her. I admire her confidence and courage and enjoy watching her on stage. Love you Abbs....Congratulations!!!

Everyone Loves Dad!!

Luckily John had a big chair because EVERYONE needs to be by him. It makes you feel good when you have four adoring kids. Hopefully they will always want to be that close to their parents.
