Merry Christmas!

I sent out a million Christmas cards and it would
be a small miracle if they all got to the right places....
so just in case, here it is!
See you in January :)

Thanksgiving and Union Square

The more time is passing in our last year
the more I feel myself grasping at the things we love so much
about living here. Funny things we will want to remember
like the toll booth for example. Something we won't be seeing much of
after we move out of California.

Thanksgiving day was so fun. We had a delicious meal thanks to the helping hands of
Grandma Linda. I didn't take any pictures of the food but it was a great day with friends
and family. I guess the thing I am most grateful for is family.
I must bee getting old, since presents and stuff aren't that important anymore and all I
really want is just to be together.

I love Christmas!
It is like Christmas Wonderland in Downtown San Francisco.
The lights, the huge billboards, and of course
the window displays in front of all the Stores feel like they are straight out of a magazine.
It's so fun to see all the happy people buying things for people they love.
I love giving people presents but it's killer for me to keep secrets. I just want to
tell them all about the adventures I went through to get that perfect present just for them!

First Annual Sisters Retreat!

A few weeks ago my sisters came to visit for 5 days of fabulous fun!
The weather was perfect, which I am so grateful for! We did not waste a single minute.
Day one we visited John's school, Walked the Bridge, ate at In-n-Out Burger and then hit Baker Beach
to watch the sunset. My sister couldn't believe that the one end was a nude beach so they set out to investigate. It was almost sundown so I thought it was pretty safe...nope they were still there. (So Weird)
Day two was the craziest! Trolley Cars, Union Square, China Town, Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square
Day three was awesome! SAILING and a little more pier 39 ending with Joe's ice cream
Day four, I sent my sissies on a Go Car tour of the city while we went to church
Day five, The North face outlet, and the Oakland Temple....and then the airport
where we all cried to say good bye...poor Nayvee cried for most of the drive home.
Can't wait for next year girls!

Fun things to do in San Francisco

For anyone who lives here in the city
this place is a must!
You can find it at 5351 Geary Blvd.

Muir Woods is so cool but at the end of a twisty road.
Ever since I have been pregnant my first time, I have turned into such a
wimp with getting car sick...so annoying.
So as long as I get to drive, this is a great destination.

Free day has made so many cool things possible for us to do
here in San Francisco. The Discovery Kids Museum is so fun and it has a parking lot!

Halloween

This has been an eventful Halloween season and probably our most fun as parents so far.
Nayvee is really getting into it now and Banks is into anything that Nayvee is.
So the following pics sum it up quite nicely.

Half Moon Bay

This was our third time going down to Half Moon Bay
to visit the amazing pumpkin patches but our
first time going to the Pumpkin Festival.
It was so fun and I would highly recommend it!
Funny Story: We were saving a spot on the side of the road for the parade
and had been there for at least 40 minutes when this guy with his camera comes and just stands
right in front of the kids. Up to this point in my life, I would definitely call myself non-confrontational
or maybe even a little on the wimpy side. Well now that I am thirty, I have found a whole new side of
myself. So I marched up to the guy and politely told him that he needed to move so the kids could see the parade. He looked at me like I was an idiot made a few grunting noises and moved on.
A few minutes later this older couple comes up and acts like they need to get through to cross the street
but then they stop and just stand there in our spot. I am now getting pretty annoyed that all these people
see our little group of young families and automatically assume that they can push us around. Well, I don't think so... So after 3 progressively more assertive comments to the couple, who act like
they don't know what I am talking about, we finally get our spot back! Now the  kids and us
get to enjoy the parade from our front row seats.
Moral of the story: Don't mess with me, I'm thirty:)

This and That

It has become a tradition and the kids love it.
We have really enjoyed getting movies for free and a plethora of
books to choose from. Some I am not sure how they were ever
put into print but for the most part library books are fabulous.

They didn't do so hot but at least they had fun.

I am heart broken that this will be our last fleet week.
This years show was awesome. The weather was perfect and
Banks has now mastered the word airplane
It still shocks me every year at how loud the planes are when they
start practicing over our house.

a Big day

Fall Break is over and school starts tomorrow
John got to go to Jamaica again on a volunteer dental trip (pictures to come)
We didn't do to much while he was away but we ended the
week with a bang :)

Joy School was at our house just before the break.
Nayvee loves it, they are growing up so fast.

August in San Fran

The kids love to go on our weekly saturday nature hike.
These pictures were taken at Immigration Point, near our house.

It's crazy how the weather can change in San Francisco. During the summer it is weeks of no
breaks from the fog. Then, at the very end of August the sun finds it's way through the fog
and summer can finally begin. We had 2 really hot days and went to the beach but
by day three, I was worn out of cleaning up the sand, so the blow up pool was looking like
a really great option.

What a fantastic Group

It's not often to get the majority of us all in one place
including husbands and willing to get a picture.
It was Emily Betita's surprise 30th birthday which brought about such an event.

The lasts of the Canada Pics

Well here is another very long post but this is the last of the Canada pictures.
Some of which are my favorites of the summer.
I have the best mom ever, not too many grandma's would dig out the
ice skates in July to head to the Lethbridge civic center for an evening of ice skating.
I think it is in Nayvee's blood to love it, she pretends that she is skating all the time, dancing around
the house. I gave her a crash course with only a few wipe outs on her bottom.
Banks had a great time buzzing around in the stroller.

I hadn't been to Waterton in quite a while so it was fun to see all the impovements to the
town site. We loaded the van up and my mom, Lisa  and I took all the kids for the day. We
met the Petersons for some watermelon on the beach.

The kids had a blast playing in the splash park, riding the bikes, and of course having
some ice cream from The Big Scoop. Waterton is one of my favorite places
and a must see if you are visiting Alberta.

These are some of my favorite pics.
We had so much fun digging out all the cowboy hats, shirts and boots
to head out for a horse ride.
The horse's name was David and he was so patient
with the 50 rounds he made of the pen.

These were a few random pics left over.
I love the one of the boat and the old farm truck. some people might say we need to get
our priorities straight but i think they are right in line.
I guess you could say, "you know you're a red neck when" :)
We also were able to go to Hallie's Baptism the night before we left
which Nayvee told every stranger about that we met on our trip home
to San Francisco.

Banks is one of the sweetest little boys ever.
his blonde hair and blue eyes melt my heart daily.
He loves animals especially dogs (from a distance) and kittens.
He is super brave and climbs on everything.
He has to sit on the cupboard so he can see, even throw it stresses his
Grandma Joan out. Not to mention he loves to though everything off as a game.
His little personality just keeps growing more everyday.
He loves to patty cake, and make gun noises while shooting his pretend finger guns.
His kisses are amazing and he freely gives them out if you ask nicely.

Nayvee Bean. She is my best friend. She is the most beautiful
little thing and she keeps getting cuter, YIKES!
I cried watching the back to school commercials this year knowing that this
is our last year to have her at home.
She is such a smartie pants, and loves to learn.
She has really gotten into the whole friends thing, and talks about
them all constantly. She is a girlie girl and has started wearing her dangly earrings and
checking her hair and outfit before we go places.
Some of her favorite things are Stillwell park, donuts, movies, cocoa, pink, the beach, and
the Golden Gate Bridge which she thinks belongs to her alone.
(which most of the kids here do which can cause the occasional argument:)
