LIFE

Life is crazy sauce.  It's busy, nuts, chaotic, and awesome.  John and I are so in love with our little family.  We have been so blessed with a great family, house, and job.  I'm sad to see summer over...but not really.  It's been such a weird summer taking care of Calvin and trying to get back in the swing of things.  Ava was SO ready to start preschool again.
Calvin is now four months old! Poor guy has had a rough go of things.  When he was born, he stopped breathing and had to be taken to the NICU until he could breathe on his own.  Then he had to be on lights for the first week of his life for jaundice.  He had an x-ray just a little bit ago for a worrisome bump on his head (all is well :D) and we just found out he has a protein intolerance.  It has been such a huge adjustment and there have been days where it felt very overwhelming.  BUT, I am so happy and thankful that Calvin is a much happier, healthier baby.  He smiles all the time now (totally different than when he was nursing), rolls over both ways, and is starting to sleep through the night (HOLLA).

Ava's Last First Day of Preschool aaaaaaaand Birthday

I can't believe Ava is FOUR and starting her last year of preschool.  She loves school and she is So. Dang. Smart.  I am always amazed by her! She can tell me about condensation, the difference between carnivores and herbivores, and how many sides a pentagon has.  Seriously.  I love my sweet, creative, chatty, girl!

It was a non-party year this year so Ava got to take a couple of friends to the zoo instead.  She had so much fun!

What a babe.

Blessing/Family Reunion

My brother and his family flew out from Virginia for our family reunion.  It was so fun to have EVERYONE together! That almost never happens!  We were able to take some family pictures.  We also blessed Calvin while everyone was here.  I love listening to babies receive these blessings.  It is so awesome to have the priesthood in our home and I am grateful for my awesome husband and his general ability to be amazing.

Ava is 3!!!!

I can't believe my little Flava is THREE!!!! It is killing me! She is such a doll and has the funniest little personality.  I love that I get to be home with her all day.  She loves to make up songs, dance, sneak up on people, and make funny faces.

She also loves to draw. Here is a picture she drew of me today.

We already had a party, so we took Ava to lunch and the Dinosaur Museum today.
My sister Mikelle made this cute shirt for Ava. She LOVES it!

She is so smart! I can't believe how much she already knows.  Most people think she's older than she actually is because of the conversations that she can have with people (and her fabulous head of hair).

I love this girl so much and I am SO BLESSED to be her mom! She brightens my day, keeps me on my toes, and reminds me of how much my Heavenly Father loves me and my family.

Happy birthday sweet girl!

Ava's Birthday

Ava was really excited to have a legit birthday party this year.  All week, she would build a "cake" out of blocks, sing to herself, and then blow out some imaginary candles.

When I first asked Ava what kind of party she wanted, she told me, "Hearts, Bubble Guppies, and cute spiders." Mmmmmmkay. This lasted for a few weeks. Then my mom brought over some plastic bugs and then Ava really wanted a ladybug party. DONE.  It was so much fun. We loved having almost all of our cousins there!

We totally made a water blob...it was awesome!

The chalk paint was the hit of the party!

A few minutes into the party, I realized I couldn't find Ava.  I walked around the back and started calling for her. Then her little head poked out the ladybug. You can't see it here, but her face was covered in frosting. She had been in the house, taking bites out of her cake.

She was really excited to get a bike.

 Love it.
