Ward Christmas Party

Holiday party...Mormon style.  Lots of food, kids and craziness.  We actually stayed for the entire program this year because Kadie was dressed like an angel for the little program that the primary kids did for the adults.

Kadie was excited to tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas.  (An American girl doll!).  She is convinced that she has been a good girl and will get what she want. :)

Laney was too afraid of Santa, but was very in love with this brownie!

This is my "Josh will you please stop taking pictures of me" look.
And Natalie T. below me, giving her husband Steve the same look. :)
And Jason A. below that posing for the camera!

The Primary kids were so cute all dressed as Angels and Shepherds.  I think Laney was trying to be the shining star in the picture below.  ???

Early Christmas for Josh!

Men are the hardest to buy for aren't they? I have NOTHING to surprise Josh with. He pretty much knows all of what he is getting. And I have been a little preoccupied with what this little being inside me will be like.

Yesterday Josh and I went to the doctor. Look at this cute tiny baby!
It was fun to see the baby wiggle around, and find out everything looks good so far. I am a bit of a worrier.
For Christmas this year, I was somehow able to sneak in a little gift of testosterone, despite my strange dreams of having twin girls!

Can you tell what Josh and I are getting a few months after Christmas this year?
Happy Boy Day!!!

Temple Lights

This Christmas is coming up way too fast...I feel like it is going to slam right into me and knock me over! That is how fast it is coming.

We took a little trip to the Oakland temple Sunday night to see the lights, and it was so much fun for the girls. Laney was more interested in throwing rocks from the water, or trying to climb on stage with the baby Jesus, just the usual.

Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving. I love the food, the family, the conversations, the games.
Mostly the food. :)

Here is the annual Family Picture!
We always have to have a silly one. Baby Skylar. Oh so cute.
We had some great food and company on Thanksgiving. My sis Kylie and her hubby Mike brought their little baby Skylar down. I miss her already, she is so cute.

It was a special day because Kylie and Mike blessed baby Skylar at my parents' home in Orinda. It was so neat to hear Mike bless his tiny girl, and to have a small family group.
Skylar looked beautiful.

I just can't help it. I forget and start thinking she is my baby. :) But I will have one soon!

Holiday Boutique

My friend Mandi is participating in a Holiday Boutique at the San Ramon Club Sport Monday December 1st. The show runs from 10:00-7:00 pm.

350 Bollinger Canyon Lane

You would all be crazy not to go and see what is in store. I am sure that there are many cool things to see or purchase, but I promise you will not be able to walk by her table with out stopping.
Here is a link to her website, with many pictures of the adorable hair accessories that she makes and sells. If you have a little girl Juney bands are a must.
Oh yes, and she has a few of my items there as well. :)

All She Wants for Christmas...

Notice anything missing from our grown up little girl?

She finally lost her other front top tooth! Her Jack-o-lantern smile is gone. :(
Could you please stop getting older Kadie?

Thanksgiving program

Kadie's class had a special program that they performed for their 3rd grade buddies. Little did she know that we would be coming Friday for another impromptu celebration of her fellow kinders singing songs. It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

Kadie was so excited to see Josh, Laney and I! Don't you love her Jack-o-lantern smile?

Even her Grammy and Grandpa Laney came.

Kadie was definitely one of the MOST ANIMATED performers on stage. I decided she is destined to be a star.

I tried to upload the video, but it is way too large...and I can't figure out how to edit it just yet. But here are some snap shots of her performance. :)

Laney Ballerina

When Kadie was little we tried everything. We did the mommy and me gymnastics and swimming. She did Ballet, and a little playschool. Poor Laney has been left in the dust with things like that. Partly because it is harder to go to things around Kadie's schedule, and partly because Laney is a little bit of a brute of a toddler. I have avoided putting her in different activities because I have to keep the tantrum throwing to a minimum to stay sane.

I finally bit the bullet, and realized that Laney has to get used to being away from me and out of the house. What better way than to try her out as a ballerina!?! So we started a combo class a couple of weeks ago. It is still kind of a rough transition...but she is slowly starting to like it.

The Play by Play of Ballet day 1:
(To be read in a 2-3 year old mentality)

"Oooh, dis is nOIsee! (clunk clunk, stomp stomp). Hey! das Yaney!!!"

"I done yike-a-dis. Ah my mom go?"

"Mama! P'yeeze yet me out!"

I think Laney liked it better from the other side of the glass the first day. Wish her luck in classes to come!

With Laney being the tom girl that she is, I think we might just try soccer next if ballet doesn't work out. I doubt she will have any separation anxiety with a ball to kick around.

Family Pictures

My friend Mandi, who is such an amazing portrait photographer offered to take pictures of our family last weekend. We went to Baker beach (where supposedly clothing is optional! - but it was too cold for that).

Here are some goodies from the fastest photo shoot in the world. The light was fading, Laney was screaming (You'll notice an absence of photo's of Laney) And yet, Mandi still got some amazing shots. :) Thank you Mandi!

The End!

Bye Bye www.thesilverloft.com

I am finally making the leap from my website to an Etsy shop. I will have both stores open for a limited time, but soon will be letting go of my thesilverloft-dot-com site. It is a sad day because I love how much fun I can have with the design. I love how flexible the site is, and that I can really make it my own. But it has been a crazy year.

It is also an exciting day to be able to open an Etsy store! My new web address is http://www.thesilverloft.etsy.com/. For those of you that don't know Etsy yet, you are in for a treat. Thousands of talented and artistic people who make their hobby a profession, and some that dabble in a little of everything and sell different items just to share their creativity with others.

Most of you may know already that I am expecting baby # 3! This move from dot-com to etsy-dot-com will make my life more simple so that I can keep up my jewelry endeavors when this tiny little person comes into my family's lives.

Thank you for all of your support, and don't forget to check out my Etsy store for some Grand re-opening prices for this Holiday season!Leisa Waldron

Another day...another lost tooth

When Kadie's class was walking toward us, I noticed it looked like she had something covering her front tooth. She was smiling so big, I thought that the kids must be playing a joke on their parents or something. But as I looked at the other children, I noticed that Kadie was the only one with a "missing tooth" which coincidentally really was missing!
The days of Kadie's 20 tooth grin are over. She will now only be showing 19 teeth with her cheesy little smile. She is so excited for the tooth fairy to come tonight!

Fun Run!

Kadie's school hosted it's annual FUN RUN on Wednesday November 5th. Each kid gets pledges from neighbors and friends, and some even get sponsors. The kids all commit to a certain number of laps and earn money for the school! I didn't know how large the "lap" would be, so when Kadie told me she wanted to do 16, I got worried. I coaxed her down to 4 after a few tries.
So, Josh and I pledged $4.00 per lap, figuring we could swing an extra $16 or $20 if she went the extra lap just for fun.
The race was off...Kadie screamed at the top of her lungs!

There she goes...

Obviously she is the glowing spot speeding through each photograph.

GO KADIE!!!!

Kadie did her 4 laps... and she just kept running!

She ran 10 laps total!

Congratulations to Coyote Creek school for the $40 you get from me and Josh. Not to mention the other $40 you get from Kadie's other pledges of $2.00 each. I am sure the school made some great money for the classroom libraries!
